Baby Names

Ariana Kate or...

edited April 2016 in Baby Names
We're still in the girl name game, last night we came up with a few options. I'm not totally in love with them yet, but they could grow on me. The only thing I hold against Ariana (Arianna) is the length! Four syllables seems like so much for a little baby, but, growing up I had a friend named Adrienna, and never thought twice about it, so maybe I'm over thinking it!
Also would love to replace Kate with another name (just had a distant friend name their baby Aurora Kate so, kind of close), but hubs really likes it. :)

Ariana is beautiful and the nn Ari is also great. I like it with Kate. Other short names that could work for a middle are Grace or Mae. I also like Blair. It's a totally different style than Ariana, and I'm not loving it with Emory. I think pairing Blair with something more feminine would be nice, like Blair Catherine. Kinley is bad and doesn't compare at all to your others.

    Ariana Kate is nice

i would assume Blair Emory was a boy

Toss Kinley as far as humanly possible. So trendy and forever a toddler name. It has no strength to it.

Is Blair a boy's name? I knew a girl named Blair, so always thought of it as feminine. Maybe a more feminine middle name to make it girly? :) What goes with Blair?
And I kind of had the same thought on Kinley, but it was a "real" name, at least it was on behindthename.com as legit, and we both kind of liked it, so I threw it in as an option!

Blair Valerie (sounds similar to Emory)

  • I love Ariana. I dislike 1-syllable first names so I'm not a fan of Blair. If you do go with Blair, definitely choose a more feminine MN.

  • I prefer Blair to Ariana, but both are strong choices. I second PP's suggestions of more feminine MNs for Blair. My favorites are Ariana Wren and Blair Estelle.
  • I'm an Ariana:) Middle name is Renee.
  • I like Ariana much better than Blaire or Kinley. I agree that Ari is a cute nn. I'm over Kate as a mn. I'd find something else. Celeste, Joy, Faith?
