1.) It's a Friday at 3PM PST time and the office has been super quiet. As a result, I've been online shopping and researching for the past 3 hours.... I bought $106.47 worth of baby clothes on zulily (my first purchase for baby!!!!!) This is your fault @AllyTheKid
2.) I'm set on the Nuna Tavo stroller.... Since we are traveling to Atlanta for Thanksgiving and then again to Asia for Christmas, I know we need a good travel stroller. But S.O. is such a guy about it. He's going to like measure everything and fight me on it and hee and haw for months before we buy it.... And I know it's early, but I SO WANT TO BUY IT NOW (because I got a bonus at work). I may or may not have asked my Dutch friend to email me a "Dear Anna, I hope you like your Dutch stroller that's coming in the mail as your late bday gift" so that if I DO end up ordering it, I'll be like "oh look S.O. we got a free stroller as a gift, how awesome!"
I should probably just stop internet-ing and go home. LOL
Ok, slightly off topic, but have you told people you are flying to Asia with a newborn? I REALLY want to come to the US for Christmas but literally everyone is appalled I would take a 9-week old baby on a trans-Atlantic flight. Is it cultural or am I really a bad mama?!
FFFC: I have also had a sip of alcohol. DH and I were on vacation and I wanted to try the local wine. I understand the chemistry well enough to know one tiny sip can't hurt my baby!
P.s. Sorry my message is in the quote section.....
@ignoscemihi True story. The problem with that is most of the people that get on my nerves the most with their political posts are my own family. The struggle is real with that one.
I'll probably get flamed to death by those who still smoke and think having a drink sometimes is okay, but that's alright, I'm sure I do things you don't agree with too.
I don't judge about much. Couldn't care if you have a CS, natural birth formula feed or BF.
But people who smoke and drink while pregnant are selfish. It's something worthwhile to give up when your growing your child.
I rest my case.
I wouldn't smoke during pregnancy because I don't smoke cigs anyway, haha. If I was a smoker I would do everything I could to quit. I know one lady who smoked like crazy during her pregnancy. Her baby was born a month early and had terrible respiratory issues for a long time. An old friend of mine smoked weed during her entire pregnancy, heavily. She didn't tell me till she was almost 7 months. Who knows what her kid would have been like had she not smoked but he is behind developmentally. These are people who smoked HEAVILY. I'm not sure smoking one or two cigarettes during your pregnancy is going to cause too much damage. I just tried to wean off zoloft and felt like I was dying. Withdrawal is hard. I can understand why some might have a hard time with it. I couldn't deal with the symptoms of getting off the zoloft so I'm back on it.
Drinking regularly is not something I would do either. A glass of wine here or there most likely won't have any lasting effects. It's unethical to do trials on pregnant women. Many of the don'ts during pregnancy have more to do with lack of extensive research than anything. That doesn't mean you are going to damage your baby if you have even a single glass of wine or cigarette.
Use that case to get down off your high horse.
That is the point of a FFFC. Doesn't mean everyone has to agree with you or not.

@Schell2013 Other than the people who admitted to having a few sips, which couldn't possibly do any harm and I myself had a sip of wine at a bridal shower this week... I don't think anyone here said they were actually drinking or smoking. I said I really needed one, not that I smoked one. I don't think anyone here condones doing anything that may harm their baby. But as the PP said, withdrawal is hard. Sometimes we have the urge and we don't want to fight it. That doesn't mean we're not fighting it. And even if we fail, once or twice is not going to harm the baby. I don't judge anyone who tries and fails, so long as they continue trying.
Lots of people don't even try to quit. Some do sure, but lots don't and don't even see a problem.
