Isabelle Elyse was born at 39 weeks, 3 days on April 2nd at 1:09am. She weighed 7lbs 13oz and was 20.5" long.
On March 30th at my 39 week doctor's appt, Isabelle was completely transverse. With my due date less than a week away, my doctor decided to schedule an ECV and induction for the following day. We arrived at the hospital Friday morning for the ECV with a specialist, and all she had to do was take a look via ultrasound to see that Isabelle had already flipped herself head down! I was so happy to have avoided the ECV, but next up was the induction. I was given cytotec and a Foley bulb to help me dilate, which took about four hours. I was having contractions but nothing painful. After the Foley bulb came out, they started pitocin. Even with the pitocin, I wasn't contracting very hard. Finally, they decided to break my water and that was the beginning of the end. Turned out that I had some condition where I had too much fluid, which was keeping my uterus from contracting properly (there was so much fluid that the nurse had to use suction to clean up the bed). At this point, contractions came on fast and furious and I was only dilated to 7cm. I asked for an epidural, which ultimately never worked properly. By the time it was in place and they laid me down, I felt like I needed to push! The nurses were trying to hold me off until my doctor got there, but my body did it's own thing and started pushing. I felt everything, even with the epidural! After 20 minutes of pushing, Isabelle came out with the cord wrapped around her neck twice. Thankfully my doctor was able to quickly remove it and she began screaming right away! For being my fourth child, this labor and delivery was the most intense and has solidified my decision to not have any more babies!
Isabelle is doing great and breastfeeding like an expert! We are so in love with our baby girl!
Parker Walter arrived at 9:43pm on March 31. Weighing in at 9lb 2.8oz, he is my biggest baby yet! Contractions began about 4:30am on the 31st and at 5:30p they broke my water. After laboring about 2 long hours, I got the epi and with 3 pushes and 3 stitches he was here! Breast feeding is much different with him than DD, but we keep practicing. So so in love with this perfect little guy:)
On April 2nd, 16 days before my due date my little VBAC baby was born. It took 11 hours for my labour to start after my water brock and I was in labour for 11 hours after that. It was the most wonderful, humbling yet impowering experience of my life. We left the hospital 5 hours after he was born and have been spending the last day falling in love with Cameron Jack Davis Donnelly (7lbs 11oz). Babies are AWESOME!!!!
Amelia Marie was born 4/2 at 6:45am! My water broke around 10pm on April Fools Day, and because I was GBS+ and my last labor was so quick we headed in even though I wasn't having any contractions. I ended up getting an epidural and pitocin to get things started and by breakfast time she was here! It was the exact opposite of my "fast and furious" unmediated labor with my first and was so much more calm and peaceful! She and I are doing amazing and looking forward to meeting her sister this morning!
Mazie Louise was born this morning at 5:58 am! She was exactly ten days early. My water broke at 4 am yesterday morning. After 26 hours of non-medicated labor, I developed a fever and Mazie's heart rate began to drop, resulting in a c-section. As much as it scared me to end things with a c-section, I'm so happy that our girl came out happy and healthy! She's already a little chatter box and super cuddly! ❤️❤️❤️
Welcome, baby Luca! Our little one was born on 4/3/2016 at 7:01 am; at 39w 4d, measuring 20.5 in and weighting 7 pounds 4.8 oz - long and lean like his daddy! We are all doing well and over the moon with joy and love!
June Amelia arrived 4/01 weighing 8lbs, 2 oz, 20 in long. Never realized how much you could love a baby until she was put in my arms! We love getting to be her parents despite sleepless nights already!
Makenzie Rose Pell was born at 11:16 pm on 4/4/16 at 7lbs 1 oz and 19.5 in. She is definitely a daddy's girl. She came into the world much quicker than our OB expected after inducing me at 1:30pm on Monday. Mommy, daddy and baby are healthy and hopefully we will be leaving the hospital her in the next hour
Went into L&D last night around 8:30 due to leaking clear fluid. Turns out it was amniotic fluid I was leaking for about 10 hours. (I seriously thought it was just discharge and almost didn't go in to have it checked) They admitted me at 10 pm , started pitocin at 10:30 . I was 2cm 100% at that point. I got the epidural at 6cm 100% at 2am. By 4:15 I was 1 cm and began to push and she was born at 5:01, This little lady tore the crap out my Vag. Dr had to stitch me 3 times . All internal and 100% sucky as hell right now. She's pretty cool and were working on breastfeeding. So far so good. It's not easy.
My advice: Get the epidural as soon as u think you might want it. From the time I asked for it till the time I got it was over an hr. It was a long hour....
Our Eliot Michael was born at 4:04pm on 4/4 in room 4 of that wing of the hospital. Weighing in at 7lb 1oz, and measuring 19in just 1 day over his due date with a gestational diabetic mother.
Everly Grace was born 4/6/16 @ 8:36 pm (@40w 3d). I was 4 cm when I was admitted and progressed to 9 cm pretty quick but just couldnt get to 10 after laboring all day. I was hoping for a med free birth but ended up taking some fent and eventually got an epidural in the evening.
After still not progressing we finally decided to do a csection. Turns out baby was sunny side up and had the cord around her neck so even if I had tried pushing for a couple hours I still probably would have needed the section, but at least baby was still toleraring everything well when we did finally get to meet her.
She's so adorable and has the chubbiest cheeks! At 8lb 1oz she's actually a bit smaller than i had suspected. She isn't too interested in breastfeeding yet, but hopefully we'll get there soon.
Trey Ira arrived via C-section on 4/6/16 around 3:25 PM. He is the cutest, sweetest little boy and the whole family is over the moon. Recovery is going OK; having bouts of naueau which I hear is normal. Can't wait to get out of the hospital and get comfortable in my own home!
We were team green- Baby GIRL Eliza made her debut on Sunday, 4.3 at 8:51am after over 40 hours of labor. She was a big thing (9lbs 5 oz) and sunny side up, so labor was......fun.......there was some talk of a c-section, but thankful I didn't have to go that route. She's very cute
Abigail Genevieve was born On Monday 4/4 at 2:58pm. She weighed 8lbs 10 oz and 21 inches (39 weeks 3 days)
Everything is going well, we're home now. will post picture when I figure out how to.
Late to this party, but we were team green and our baby GIRL was born last Saturday, 4/2, by C-section after a failed induction/36 hours of labor. I start bawling just looking at her at least twice a day because I am just so friggin' happy that I get to be her mom--I love her so dearly already!
Gunnar James was born at 8:35pm on April 5th, 2 days before his due date. Water broke at work, got to the hospital at 5. At 6pm I was dilated 1cm. Things got crazy after that as I quickly skipped 1st and 2nd stages of labor and went almost directly into pushing. Couple hours later with no time for an epidural this little guy came out! He's awesome, but I'm not loving the 3rd degree tear and massive hemorrhoids that came along with him!
Juliana Elise was born today at 39+2, weighing in at 6 lbs 3 oz, and 19 inches long! My water broke yesterday afternoon, so I ended up being induced last night around 10:30. Tried to go with little meds but good lord I'm a wuss with pain! I got my epi around 7:40 this morning, and Juliana made her entrance right at 1.5 hours later!
Sophia Teresa born 4/7/16 at 2:58am weighing 7lbs 7oz and 21.4 in long. I was 39w+1 and induced due to preeclampsia. Birth story to come, delivery was a bit difficult but Sophia and I are doing great. Nothing can prepare you for the love you will have for your baby ❤️
Elena Jane, born April 7 at 8:40 PM weighed in at 7 lb 10 oz and measured 20" long due to induction for gestational hypertension on the 6th at 4 PM. After a long, stalled labor even with pitocin, the doctors broke my water which caused me to develop a uterine infection and temperature during labor. I pushed for about 40 minutes before her heart rate became worryingly high; luckily her head was close because I pushed fast and furiously to get her out. We're both on IV antibiotics now and doing well. Dad can't put her down so I'm taking advantage of every opportunity I get to hold her! I finally understand what possesses people to have more than one child...I know I hated being pregnant but I forget why. Being a mom is already so much better than I had even hoped.
William Andrew joined this world 4/7 at 3:29 pm weighing 7 lbs 9 ozs, 21". I was induced and started 4cm, -2 position. I barely felt contractions even after significant pitocin increases. I got epidural prior to them breaking my water around 2pm and still measuring 4cm. An hour later I was fully dilated and pushed him out in 15 minutes. Overall a really "zen" labor experience. I experienced several tears but overall feel decent. Baby Will is nursing great and got to meet family and his big sister yesterday.
Baby Hallie has arrived!. I was induced at 39+2 for GD, and she was breech. It turns out she flipped herself head down the night before to avoid the 2nd ECV for this pregnancy. After 10 hours of pitocin and no other interventions, baby #2 came out with 1.5 pushes and no tearing! 6 lbs 15 oz 20.5 inches- exactly the same as her big sister! We are so in love!
Baby Emily Elaine was born 4/6 at 6:14pm via c section. She weighed 7 lbs exactly and measured 21.75 in with a head full of hair! We went from being told my cervix was closed and we would go past due date to being sent to the hospital for an induction due to high bp.
I took 4 doses of cytotek to ripen my cervix and then they started me on pitocin. After about 4 or 5 hours, I was beyween 3 and 4 cm dilated and couldn't take the pain anymore so I went for the epidural. So glad I did, because the difference in pain was just heavenly. After about 6 hours of not progressing past 4cm, my cervix and babies head started to swell so we went for the c section. From there, the delivery went smooth and we got to meet our precious baby girl who we absolutely love . Also, we must havr the best OR story since DH and I are both beatboxers, We ended up showing everyone in the room our skills as they stitched me up. We got a standing ovation .
In the hospital for one more day. Definitely must say breastfeeding hasn't been easy...our baby loves to sleep and she's having trouble sucking. Still tryin to hang in there for her tho Everyone here has been super nice and friendly and one of the nurse techs even knitted Emily the hat in the picture!
And that my friends shows how much things don't go to plan, but you just have to roll with them and it's all worth it!
Henry Charles was born April 4th despite a scheduled repeat c section set for April 25th! He weighed in at 6lbs 10oz and is 20 1/4 inches long. My water actually started breaking around 9am and by 2 or 3 pm I was 5cm with contractions that were 3 minutes apart. They were going to wait to do the c section until 5:30pm cuz I wasn't having regular contractions when I first got there. He sure did want out, lol.
Team green turned out to be a girl. Fiona Catherine was born at 9:22 pm last night after only 2.5 hours of labor! My water broke at 7 pm and we got to the hospital at 8:30. The doctor didn't even make it in time. It was an awesome unmedicated birth and she ended up being born in the tub after about 3 pushes! I am gbs+ and they tried to start an iv but there was no time. Hospital pediatrician says if labs look good tonight we can go home at the 24 hour mark and see our family doctor tomorrow just to be safe. She is already living up to her spunky name and had a full head of the darkest hair. She is 7 pounds, 6 ounces and 20 inches long.
Meet Mustapha, the most gorgeous baby I have ever seen and he's all mine Born 4/9/16 at 04.13 am weighing 3715 g and 51 cm long (8lbs 3oz and 20 inch) at 39+6 He latched on immediately and I had minor tearing only. Daddy and I are over the moon
Team Green turned BLUE on April 6th Lucien made our family complete at 12:17pm via csection. The csection was scheduled due to breech position with the cord around his neck. He weighed in at 6lbs 8ozs and 19 3/4 inches long. I can't believe this is the little person that was in my belly for the last 39 weeks.
Our turn! At 39+4 our little handsome devil decided to join our family. Started with mild contractions yesterday about 7 pm, and turned into full blown labor at about 3:30 am this morning. Took a shower and waited for boyfriend to leave work (thank goodness he works in town, but he's a cop and was in the middle of a hairy arrest!) got to the hospital about 5:30 am and was 4 1/2 at 6 am. They gave me an epidural around 11 a.m. And broke my water. Pushed for a half hour and he arrived at 1:52 pm. He's so handsome!
Our team green turned out to be blue. After 36 hours of labor Luke Elliot was born 36 min after his due date at 12:36am on 4/6. He was 6lb 8oz of cute at birth and 20.5" We are home and starting to renormalize.
