I avoid the lunch meat and under cooked meats. I mostly just try to eat as healthy as I can. I am so glad I found out about the pasteurized soft cheese thing is ok during my last pregnancy. I love cheese!
I do get nervous about listeria poping up in random foods. I got a notice on my receipt when I was 8 months pregnant last time that they found it on peaches from the month before and it told me not to eat them. This drove me crazy. First if you have not ate your month old peaches by now then they have other things growing on them. And now all you have done is give me one more thing to worry about for the next month. I do plan on giving all my produce an extra rinse, I don't think it helps but it give me piece of mind.
How bad are hot dogs if they are grilled and super hot when they get to you? I ask because last night, all I wanted was a hot dog. I gave in, and it was the best thing I've ever tasted, but I'm pretty sure I'll be avoiding them for the rest of the pregnancy.

I think it's a matter of nitrites? If hotdogs have that? But I think if they're grilled like that, all bacteria is killed! The worry is with listeria, I think?

I think I was a lot more concerned with my first pregnancy. I'm trying not to stress too much this time. I'm a vegetarian, so a lot of the meat concerns don't effect me. I've cut out my morning coffee for the most part, but will still have a small cup of decaf if I need a little pick me up.
One of the biggest things that I am dreading is not sleeping on back or stomach. I'm still breastfeeding my DS, so sleeping on stomach has been out for a while anyway, but I dread the days when I can only sleep on my side and with pillows all around me.

Oh man, that's how I sleep now! I want TWO pregnancy/body pillows to cocoon me!

Oh my. I am dropping the alcohol and limiting my coffee, but that's about it. I stressed too much the first go around and I was fine.
And technically, you are supposed to avoid frozen yogurt shops and any ice cream that is soft serve because more often than not, the machines are not cleaned properly and there are chances of listeria in them.
I did skip the acid in the face washes though, and haven't gone back to those. I use cetaphil with witch hazel as a toner, and Clinique moisturizer. The SA products dried out my skin and these are so much fresher and make my skin look better in general.
Enjoy pregnancy now and eat the foods. Everything in moderation and you'll be fine.
