My random for the day. We are 1.5 hours into a 5 hour road trip. I've been asking DH for the last hour when we are stopping for lunch. I don't know how he puts up with me. Someone better have a cold beer for that man as soon as we reach our destination
I will also add that I have promised myself to get more active for a couple weeks now (or let's be honest, since the start of the 2nd trimester, or closer to a month), and that has not happened. I keep blaming the weather but I really need to get moving. Must find the motivation/energy!
@AnnaS930 I loved the gift card we got from BRU after she was born. It was my favorite perk of the BRU registry, and a big reason we spent more there than anywhere else. The percentage back was tiered based on how much you spent then, so I guess a flat 10% back could make up for the 5% less off.
I just can't jump on the Amazon Prime bandwagon. There is just never anything I need so badly that I need it in two days. And it's not hard for me to buy enough to reach the free shipping minimum, even since they raised it.
@PSUBecky23- I got it at a discount after we bought a Fire stick, moreso for the streaming than that shipping. I don't know that we'll renew it, I only like one or two of their original shows and the rest of the selection is not great
@camichael84 Oh, I do not like a 30 year old eating cake with her face. Why would what a 1 year old does for fun look like the same thing a 30 year old does for fun? Are the plans for the party to play peek-a-boo and bust out the jack in the box? Will the professional photographer capture that memory as well?
To answer the question posed on the picture, "Why should kids have all the fun?" I guess I'd say "Because they don't know how to use a fork. But you are a grown ass adult."
But, to YOUR statement, I say - yes. Eat a whole cake & drink a whole bottle of wine by yourself on your birthday. Any birthday, except maybe if you have one while you're pregnant.

We love Amazon Prime! We use their diaper subscription - the price is fair and I don't have the time to shop the sales at other stores for better prices. And with our schedules, we don't have the time to go to the store when a need arises. We just pop onto Amazon and have the item in a couple days. The 2-day shipping isn't always 2 days, but it is much more convenient than running to the store.
I hit refresh and it's attack of the adds. There is an add every six posts and video adds inside of posts, at first I thought someone posted a video. Does anyone else see this?

Yes!! WTF?! All of a sudden and it's driving me crazy!

I am not getting ads, just some random large spaces. Apparently my browser isn't loading the ads. Usually my browser at work sucks, but I don't mind in this particular case.
@jhems776- same here! I'm thinking to myself - has this always been here? They're clearly targeted as mine are mostly for Keen shoes, which we've talked about here and I recently was on their website shoe shopping. This is super annoying!
@camichael84- I commented there, and realized while typing that I was clogging it up but I was too excited to be expected to click over to another thread! I'm a little giddy over here, best news I've seen today! (p.s. any result would have been the best news... just the reality of knowing is amazing)
Yes! The ads are driving me nuts! Totally wrecking my bump user experience! Hopefully they don't stick with this! If you ladies weren't so amazing I'd probably bounce just because of the ads.
I have a love/hate relationship with Amazon prime. I love ordering everyday things when I'm just too busy to get to the store to buy it myself, but I HATE how my husband abuses it. He has purchased so much useless crap "because it's only $10! And the shipping is free!" We don't need so many pocket knives and cigar holders!
@camichael84 - Thank you!! The look on DH's face and both of the kiddo's faces was priceless! Everyone was truly surprised. DS woke up this morning saying, "I can't believe we're having one of each!"
Oh, that's what those spaces are! I have AdBlocker on, so it must be killing them, but the spaces were still there. I thought maybe it was just a glitch!
@AnnaS930 I understand. When I saw UnwritteN had posted in the sex thread, I got all excited wondering if that meant she opened the envelope. I was even more excited when I saw she had!
@camichael84 - Over the moon! We would be thrilled no matter what of course. This way though, neither kid is disappointed in any way (I know if it had been 2 boys or 2 girls, there would have been someone who was upset). And DH referred to them by name last night which just about made me cry.
Concerning weight gain, a friend of mine gained more than 15 lbs within 12 weeks with her first baby. She had started underweight though which helped to explain the rapid initial gain and ended up gaining a total of 37 pounds.
Just thought I'd throw this out there for @AnnaS930 and @blondie080300 and anyone else who mentioned about their gain so far. I am sure everyone's situation and body is different and not saying anyone is over/under weight.
I'm beginning to understand that the female body is quite fascinating and odd to behold during pregnancy! Pretty obvious I'm a FTM, huh?!
I amazon. I do amazon prime (I really like the amazon elements wipes but am partial to target diapers. Target wipes totally suck.). I do subscribe & save (no more hauling 50lb bags of dog food around at the store! Or filling my entire shopping cart with paper towels) and I have an amazon credit card. We put all our bills on the CC to rack up points. I have done ALL of my christmas shopping on amazon for the past several years, and it is amazing, and I've spent very little money because the points rack up like crazy. We also bought a dyson and a nest thermostat completely with points.
lol @geminigirl16- It's crazy right? And here's the kicker, if I use the weight that I started at, calculations would suggest that I've gained "too much" weight so far, but if I claim that I started 5 pounds lighter then I'm exactly where I should be because they'd expect me to gain more during my pregnancy (even though it would mean I've gained 20 pounds so far instead of 15 - silly!). I know I'm in the range to gain 25-35 pounds - I have a normal BMI, and I've done this before, so I'm very familiar with how my body handles pregnancy but I remember being pretty freaked out by it last time. I'm a bit annoyed by it this time (not sure if that's the right word) but not at all worried. I'm sure I'll gain 40 pounds and I'll eventually lose them after birth
And thanks for the support @geminigirl16. I did not start out underweight but I am not worried either. I know I ate pretty crappy during the 1st tri and am doing so much better with eating in the 2nd tri so I at least feel I have more control. My plan is to try and maintain but if it goes up, not freak out since I know I am growing a baby and weight gain happens. I am a runner so I will just focus on my half marathon that I deferred to run next year and hopefully that will motivate me to start running again post-baby.

@blondie080300- 100% with you. I do so well when I say "I'm working towards being able to run x distance, or to run it in x amount of time" versus trying to hit certain weight goals. I have to eat better to increase my endurance/performance and do more cardio to reach my goals and hey look! The scale's going down without me freaking out about it.
I think I'll aim for a 10k next year and go from there!
I believe that in the vast majority of pregnancies your body gains what it is supposed to. Of course there are times when that's not the case, but your body knows what it's doing. I gained 50-55 lb with both of my boys. I'm of normal weight, BMI etc. And I'm a very active person who worked out through both pregnancies and am doing the same this time. It all came off...now I'm at it again lol.
KimmySchmidt right there with you for amazon. I do a majority of our shopping on amazon, I save a ton of money. I use my wishlists to track prices and check for deals. I don't have to wait for $35 order to get something shipped so if a see something that retails for $12 (like a kitchen thermometer i just ordered) and I see in on amazon for right under $10 I order and it and it appears 2 days later like magic. plus I HATE places like walmart and will do anything I can to avoid it.
ETA: I LOVE AMAZON and can go on and on about it. I had over 100 orders last year!!!!!

Everyone gains weight differently. I watched the scale like a hawk last time and it drove me nuts! I'm pretty sure I cried every time the scale moved. This time I'm only weighing at appointments.
I'm with @KimmySchmidt and @marajay6 on the Amazon Prime thing. It's not that i NEED things in two days, but I do love the fact that I can subscribe to a ton of staples (diapers, dish detergent, wipes, shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) that I don't have to remember to buy at the store on the regular and--even more importantly--that I don't have to lug from the car while also lugging a baby (soon two). I also love that if I forget something at the store (which happens more often than I'd like) I can order it and have it in two days rather than getting back in the car for one thing. Anyway. To each their own, but I am *definitely* a convert (nay, addict).
I'd love to be exercising more and I miss going to crossfit specifically but between work, school, fighting the never ending fatigue, maintaining my relationship and trying to plan for the baby, there is just not enough hours in the week
I love Amazon Prime at Christmas. So nice to be able to get toys quickly, because I am a procrastinator. It's also nice to have the convenience of getting something fast if I want it. I dropped my Prime membership when they raised prices, but liked it when I had it.

I'm also in love with Amazon prime. I subscribe for wipes, and when I get disposables order them. I also get a lot of clothes, and it's so easy for specialty hardware and tools, that would take me hours to find in store.
I am also a fan of Amazon. We have prime, and I am planning to set up subscribe and save for most of our household staples. I had only been using it for diapers, but the trip to Target today with 3 kids was horrible. I'd like to avoid that again if at all possible.
My in-laws live in Memphis (we are in California) so Christmas shopping is way easy and we just ship it there. Even on Christmases where we spend it with there, husband and I will send our presents to each other to their house. We don't have cable so we splurge on this and honestly it's totally worth it.
My Random is that I left work a bit early because I'm exhausted and hungry. I've been home for an hour. I had to do some computer things and make some phone calls. I'm stil hungry and I'm still tired but I'm having a really hard time getting up to go make something to eat and then nap before my other job.
My random today is my sincere love for this board. I don't always post frequently (I'm 6 hours behind the east coast so I'm usually way behind the eight ball by the time I wake up) but I do read a good bit and the adult way most threads are handled, the discussions, the humor, the support, are everything I could hope for in a BMB. I'm so excited to be in this club for the next 5+ months and beyond! Just sending you all some S16 love
