@BingALing23 I will try that, thank you. I wish they told me thins yesterday after the ER so I'd know what to expect and could have picked up something on the way home. Instead, it was "oh you can definitely go back to work the next day." Ugh.

@Tulips29 After my 2nd ER I was in the same kind of pain. They had gotten a lot of eggs, so I think that was part of it. Aside from the extra strength Tylenol, I kept a hot water bottle on my abdomen constantly. That help more than the pills IMO. I ended up being off work for 3 days instead of 2 and by the 4th morning, the pain had decreased significantly. Though I would tell you that using the bathroom/sitting-to standing hurt for about a week. Sorry you are in so much pain, but hang in there!

@tulips29 I was in similar pain for about 6 days I think. I did make 26 eggs, so that was part of it. Def keep the fluids in and a heat pad /hot water bottle was my best friend. My biggest oops was I tried to push my self too soon and 3 or 4 days after I did a ton of chores and ended up back in bed. I would call your doc and let them know you are in So much pain, my clinic wanted to know as they were going to have me come in for a check up if I hadn't started to feel better.

Tulips29 - I had similar pain to that. I did go to work the next day but I was regretting that decision. I used a heating pad for almost a week. Ended up going back in to RE b/c I had some OHSS... Drink lots of gatorade and liquids and pretty much the heating pad all of the time (I'm usually an cold rather than heat but the heat helped a lot). They also told me to eat a lot of salty food. For some reason b/c your ovaries are already swollen and your body is retaining liquid, the extra salt tells your body that there is too much so you finally start to pee it out. I think it took about 7 days to start feeling back to normal.

@halips @vssbrm @Griffin5413 thank you for shaing your experiences. It sucks that they set your expectations at the clinic for it being just mild cramps and bloating. I guess they don't realize it's much worse than that for a lot of us. I left a message for my nurse to discuss this, so we'll see what they tell me.

@Tulips29 I definitely couldn't stand up straight for a couple of days, and being constipated doesn't help. And yes, even just peeing hurt for a while. I work in an office so I was able to go to work the next day, but I sat on the heating pad for daaaaays. Praying you feel better soon!

@Tulips29 My 1st round I was fine and went to work the second day. My second round I went to work cause I had to but I was in pain for at least 3 days after ER. They said I was very close to OHSS.

Just got back from my check up. You ladies were right the Genirelix did it's job. I feel a lot better after this appointment. I'm still waiting from blood work to come back but I am scheduled for another check in the morning possible trigger Saturday and ER for Monday morning. Lt 2 over 14mm, 6 over 10mm and +4 under 10mm. Rt 5 over 14mm, 3 over 10mm and +20 under 10. She was very pleased with all this growth.

I just spoke to the nurse and she also suggested to drink lots of Gatorade or vitamin water. Will try that as well in addition to everything else.

@thucks I'm glad ganirelix did the trick! You'll be at your ER in no time.

I was just told that out of the 19 eggs 10 were mature and they did ICSI on them. Now they will wait until day 5 to biopsy them and do PGD testing. I'm a bit bummed we lost 9 eggs because they were either pre-mature or post-mature. I'm praying we don't lose too many more during testing.

I still have PIO, Leupron and an HCG left in my box of goodies. I'm assuming that the HCG is my trigger shot. I'm curious as to when I would start the PIO and the Leupron. Have any of you started these yet?

@Tulips29 I'm sure I can go back and look, but will you have a FET later because of the PGD testing or will you have a 6 day transfer?

@thucks we discussed doing FET in the beginning of this process with our RE, and were given a tentative FET timeline of sometime in the first 2 weeks of May. I think I have to get my AF next and prep for FET while PGD is being done, but I still need to confirm all this and get a definitive protocol. And as your other comment, HCG is your trigger shot. I have Lupron sitting in the fridge still that I didn't use, so not sure what it's for either. I got progesterone suppositories instead of PIO shots, but they are the same and I think those start after transfer, but I may be wrong.

@Tulips29 - I've been recovering VERY slowly, day by day I can do a bit more and more. But what you're describing is exactly how I felt, and what I went through. Day 5 transfer is tomorrow, and I'm only now starting to feel better. Everyone's bodies are different, and really depends on how many eggs you retrieved. Hope your recovery is faster than mine and you feel better soon. I feel your pain though

@thucks Lupron and HCG together are probably your trigger. I'm not sure about the PIO, as I've only ever seen it for after transfer/IUI.

@thucks the PIO starts the day after transfer. Like @Tulips29 said, The PIO is similar to the progesterone suppositories. They said to take the PIO until day of transfer and then if I wanted to I could switch to the suppositories. I've chosen to stick with the shots, just because it's less mess and I feel like I know all of it is getting in there. I took Lupron before I started my cycle and through to about a day or two before my trigger. Although, I know everyone's protocol is different.

@Tulips29 That still a great number! FX for you that they all keep growing and come back perfect!

@oxinfree Good to hear that you're starting to feel a little better. Today is the first day that I feel almost 100%. Hopefully you'll hit that soon too!

AFM: continuing with menopur and gonal f tonight and adding cetrotide today. At first I have been totally relaxed and excited for this but now I'm freaking out like what if none of my eggs make it to day 5 and all of this was a waste? It's totally possible.

@Drove2u No fretting! Toward the end of my stim cycle I started getting really stressed as well, but you have to remind yourself that you are doing everything you can. Think of all the positive things you are doing for yourself and this process. You got this!

@Drove2u - I literally had an intense nightmare the day before the retrieval that all my eggs ovulated early and there was nothing left to retrieve and the whole cycle was a waste. The fear is real haha. But obviously that wasn't the case, and I'm hopeful for you as well. It's normal to be nervous after going through so much. hugs to you.

@Drove2u - one of the things my RE was really good about always reminding me is that we can only do 1 thing at a time. We can't focus on after... All you can focus on right now is how your body is doing on the stims, that your follicles are doing well now. It all starts to be too much we we focus on more than that. Of course I know that's easier said than done!

@Drove2u I know how you feel. I've second guessed things too. But I know that none of this could ever be a waste. You are doing everything within your control so no matter what you'll have no regrets about not pulling out all the stops. We can drive ourselves bonkers with "What ifs". But we can apply that to absolutely anything. What if we weren't able to afford this? Then what would it be like to have those limitations on our dream?

@Tulips29 Are you feeling any better? Did you talk to your Dr.? Sorry your recovery has been tough... I was told to not drink any plain water, only Gatorade or V8 (not the low sodium), this helps push the fluids from your ovaries back to the bloodstream. Also they told me to use a stool softener because constipation really adds to the discomfort... You may already know all this, but just in case!

@oxinfree I'm praying for your transfer, and really hope you get a BFP and start an exciting new chapter in your life

@drove2u stay strong! It's really impossible not to freak out, but you have done everything in your power to make this happen, sending you lots of positive thoughts !

Omg ive been away too long! Im sorry to read that some of you are having a crumby time recovering. My 2nd retreival took a few days to bounce back but you will feel better.

Just a small up date - I got my PGD testing back, we have a normal boy and girl!!!! Im so freaking happy right now. I can relax until May when my transfer will be done.

I got the update call on Wednesday and was told that at that point they had 13 embryos make it to day 5, and it seemed like there were more growing, so they wanted us to decide how many to send to PGS. I guess only 8 were included in our plan so we would have had to pay more for the extra ones, which was not really a problem but they made it sound like 8 was a lot. That was kind of stressful because I was in the middle of my work day and couldn't even be on the phone... My husband made the decision to send those 8 and they froze the rest.
Im hoping that was the right thing to do... I know we can still test them later but I obviously don't want to delay the process and go through it again. That being said I'm still happy and I know whatever is going to happen will happen, it's just hard not to question every single decision we make

@yelllow22 I'm feeling a bit better this morning, thank you for asking. My doctor wanted to see me this morning, but I woke up feeling better, so I didn't go. I drank lots of gatorate and vitamin water yesterday + took stool softener and I think all of that helped me. I wasn't struggling to get out of bed this morning. You have a great number of embryos and fx PGD testing will come back without any issues. Do you know when in May you will transfer?

It is really hard not to double check every step of the way when there's so many different steps and decisions. Hey all! Thanks for all the well wishes. Everything went well today. We transferred 1 ICSI blastocyst and 1 naturally fertilized blastocyst (so two little eggies in there). I'll go into more of the details on the blog etc. once I'm feeling up to it. A bit sleepy right now as I just got home from my post-transfer acupuncture.

@Tulips29 - great to hear you're recovering nicely!

@Drove2u - so exciting to be on the home stretch.... just keep stimming... just keep stimming

@yellow22 - what great news.You have so many great one off to PGS and I'm sure others frozen up for you for now. Feel confident in the decision you made. Congrats!

My RE has a portal online that is used to communicate and check flowcharts and test results. I just got a message as to my results from today's check in. Lt 10 over 14mm and 8 over 10mm Rt only 4 over 14mm and 4 over 10mm. But my Estradiol is high at 2967 and Progesterone is at 2.0. They are scheduling my ER for Monday but have canceled my ET. Dr J. is changing me to Freeze only status. And I will learn more on Sunday about when and how we will do the transfer. I'm so upset right now this really wasn't the plan but nothing I can do about it.

I did learn about the Lupron and HCG. I'll do 80 units of Lupron Saturday (Trigger). She told me in the office today that the HCG is done the day of ER and ET but it's not on my sched so I don't know if my levels are to high and I'm not doing that or if I will know more on Sunday. She said I will be doing the PIO for 10 days after ET and then change to the suppositories until further notice.
