Formal Dress for nursing?

Hi everyone. I've looked on the boards and found a lot of information on formal dresses for pregnant women, but not for nursing women. I have a few formal weddings to go to this summer. Most of my pre-pregnancy dresses fit but don't accommodate the fact that I'm nursing. I usually nurse with a scarf draped over my shoulder, so one side would be seen (and clothed) while the other side would be hidden under the scarf. Strapless dresses aren't working since I can't pull down one side without the other side falling down. Dresses that are flexible enough that I can pull down one side, like wrap dresses, aren't formal enough and the formal dress I have that is v-neck isn't low enough that the fabric easily pulls to one side. What I need is a low cut v-neck dress that doesn't make me look inappropriate - impossible to accomplish since my bust size is huge right now. Has anyone found a great formal dress they can nurse in or a store that sells formal dresses with nursing specifically in mind?

  • You might try rent the runway and then try and choose fabrics or cuts that would be easy to manipulate.

  • Renttherunway.com
  • Many dresses have side zippers.  Depending on how long the wedding is you could feed just from that side during the wedding.
