Little boy due in a week...want public opinion!

We have a little boy due next week and DH and I thought we were set with a name but started talking names the other night again.

Middle is definite. But, what do you think?
Deacon Parker
Cole Parker

Sister's name is Piper.

Looking for public opinion, good or bad!

Cole is at the top of my list right now, so that gets my vote. Deacon is not bad, just too religious for my style.

I like Cole Parker probably because it is reminiscent of Cole Porter, much prefer to other option because Deacon is a title. Would you name your kid Doctor?

I've heard the 'title' argument against that name before. I hadn't really thought about that. I think I started to like the name because I'm lame and love the character Deacon on 'Nashville', the character just reminds me of a family member. I'm so split!

I really don't like Deacon but it is very much NMS. I think Cole Parker is a lovely name.

I would avoid Deacon for the same reason I would avoid naming a kid Priest. It suggests a title the kiddo doesn't hold, and it's potentially offensive to some. I love Cole though!
Dean is also awesome. I can't talk DH into it though.

Cole for the same reasons as everyone else (and I also just like it). Maybe if I were religious, Deacon might be more appealing to me, but I'm not, so I just can't get behind it.

I can't get behind 1-syllable first names. Cole sounds incomplete to me. I love Deacon and had it on my short list but DH said no.

Torn, because the rules of naming tell me to encourage you to pick Cole, but it has just never been my favorite name (I tend to think of coleslaw). Deacon is a total guilty pleasure name for me (gee thanks Reese Witherspoon!).
