@Charissadeats-- yeah, if you do a search on my username on Amazon or Goodreads (or Tor/Forge, which published the last one), you'll find my super nerdy nerdbooks. I make no promises as to their literary merit. It's a fun hobby that gives me some frivolous spending money and lets me amuse myself with silly things like making my dog a canon character in Dragon Age, and that's pretty much the level of seriousness I have toward all of that.
Do these books have anything to do with the Dragon Age video game? My DH is obsessed with those games.
1)
I cant wait to rip off my bra in 19 minutes. I don’t care that I will be on
the train for an hour with boobs bouncing around. I simply cannot take it
anymore
2)
Am I the only one that wasn’t effected by the
tdap shot? I never felt soreness or anything afterwards.
3)
Even though I am 34+2 weeks along, I am now
telling people I am due in 5 weeks. It mentally makes me feel better.
4)
Today burned me out. I feel like I ran a
marathon
5)
But instead of going home and relaxing, I need
to take the cat to the vet. By the time we will get home it will be 8:00ish and
I still need to make dinner…
6)
After dealing with oily roots for a week, I found
that Sauve for oily hair is a lifesaver. FYI for anyone else dealing with the
same thing.
7)
Yeah its HDBH tomorrow. I don’t know why that
excites me so much.
8)
I gave my mom the “rules” for visiting us after
baby is born. She doesn’t seem thrilled. But anyone that has followed the story
should know she should be happy that I am allowing her to visit at all!
9)
I am getting a temp to fill in for me during ML.
While I am happy about it, I am expected to train her. A week before going out.
Really, not what a 39 week pregnant lady wants to do
10)
OH! Its only 13 minutes now until
#nobracommutehome
@mrstmoose I didn't bring the diaper bag to the hospital last time and won't this time either since we'll just go straight home from the hospital. I do remember stocking the bag at home with some basic stuff so that it would be ready for DS's first pediatrician visit the day after we got home.
I am using my diaper bag as my hospital bag. Not sure why, maybe because it is new and I am looking forward to using it?
1. I'm happy to have my nursery more or less finished. Such a relief.
2. My coworkers threw me a little baby shower/potluck today. It was great!
3. I am so antsy to have an active summer. I hope I have a fairly easy recovery so I can begin exercising soon after.
4. Regarding bringing diaper bag to the hospital, I will bring one even though it's probably not necessary. At my childbirth class, our instructor recommended bringing our own NB diapers (only if we already had them) and taking the hospital's size 1 diapers home. I'm sure not all hospitals typically only use size 1, but it's a tip just in case.
5. Now that I pretty much have everything I need for baby, I have put myself on a spending freeze at least for this month.
6. I've been fairly productive at work lately, but I still get distracted by all things baby. I'm just so excited!
7. Why are board books generally less expensive than paperback? It just doesn't make sense to me. Board books are great, but they take up so much more room, so I'd like more in paperback and hardcover.
8. I could go for a nap.
9. I registered at Amazon, so I had a number of returns to make. They all fit nicely in one box, but they requested that I sent them back separately per order. It was ridiculous. Probably 10 boxes instead of 1.
10. Bouncing off #4 how big was your hospital bag? I feel like I am going to over pack....
1. I have a new book out today. Woo. I actually like this one, too, which doesn't always happen (I like, uh, let's see... 3 of the 6 books I've done. Not a great success rate, but it's getting better over time, so I'll take it.)
2. I actually forgot about the upcoming release date until I saw a promo post by the publisher last week, because haha I still have so much crap to do between now and the due date, it totally slipped my mind.
3. At my 34-week appointment yesterday, the tiny alien was kicking the Doppler wand so furiously that the doctor actually couldn't get a good read on its heartbeat. I laughed. It's not all in my head, that thing really is a punchy little tornado.
4. It's getting harder to work out but it feels more important to keep going, because I notice such an improvement in my overall ability to get around afterward. Yesterday I almost wimped out on the walk to the gym (it was cold and dark and super windy, and the tiny alien was punching through my pelvis), but I made myself do it and then I didn't have any leg cramps all night because I guess they all got worked out on the elliptical. So hooray for that, I guess.
5. Have been working from home at all available hours trying to get the last of my cases briefed before I go out on maternity. I was up from 4-6 am this morning doing research, because if I'm going to be sleepless anyhow then it might as well be productive. Next couple of weeks are going to be rough, but if I can get through these then everything will be so much better. Or so I tell myself, anyway.
That's it, just five for me this week.
You are an author? Thats really cool. You should write a book about the "alien baby"
1. LAST birthing class tonight. I'm relieved as Tuesdays are soooo long for me. I work all day and go straight to class from 6:30-8:30. 2. We're talking about c/s tonight at birthing class. Last week was massage. My question: Why didn't we get to practice?! 3. Wrote my memo to my dept. head about what I will (more like what I will NOT) be doing on my leave this summer/fall. Still can't believe I won't be back in the office until January. 4. I bought more maternity clothes over the weekend. UGH. But I have nothing to wear now that the warm weather is here. 5. Finally ordered my breast pump yesterday. 6. I'm loving my new car! Subaru CrossTrek. It has this add-on called "EyeSight." Part of it is the car will stop on its own if you are about to crash into someone. It's one step away from the driver-less cars! 7. I made this shrimp and broccoli thing last night. It was super easy, healthy and yummy: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1012388-roasted-broccoli-with-shrimp 8. Tomorrow, I am making this Vietnamese Flank Steak: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1015080-vietnamese-steak-with-cucumber-salad 9. Tonight: I have to pick something up on the way to birthing class, which means nothing healthy or yummy. 10. I got scared reading the thread about the dog issues. My dog has shown ZERO issues toward any human ever and is really gentle with kids, but...still. I will lose it if I have to give her up!

We have this too! We love it. Definitely makes me feel a little bit safer.

3rd trimester weight has been going better than second. I've been gaining 3/4 -1 lb a week. My OB informs me every time that I should be gaining closer to 1/4-1/2. Very discouraging. I wouldn't mind so much if MH wasn't there too . . . He uses this as ammo against me to tell me I should have XYZ.
In regards to #3 its annoying! I am eating snacks like carrots and cucumbers with healthy homemade yogurt based dips and he will scarf down chips, Hotcross buns, bowls of goldfish crackers. Then when I decide I want a bag of sour peaches for a movie he is all " We really need to cut down on the snacks!" and basically throws his guilt to me because he is gaining weight. Grrrr!!!
What!?! You should not put up with this. Unless your OB is expressing concern about your weight gain you should not worry. Mine told me this is when baby is getting his chub so he can survive in the outside world. Most say a lb a week is normal the last month! There's no magic number to weight gain. If you're healthy and eating well your body will do what it needs. If you'r DH isn't being positive you might want to consider going to the uneventful checkups yourself. That's not supportive of him at all!
@yogahh I hope your backup is more competent than mine. It doesn't matter if I document how to do something, train him, have him to an action several times, etc. He just doesn't get it.

Much like self-parking cars and the auto-lane correct on new Mercedes cars, this feature totally freaks me out! The concept seems so cool, but I can't wrap my mind around the reality. My car doesn't have any of these features, but it is pretty dependent on its computer in other ways, and it seems like it breaks all the time!
1. I've been daydreaming way too much lately putting together the perfect pinterest home lol. 2. I'm beyond exhausted (not from daydreaming) but I actually had enough energy today to clean my kitchen floors, bathroom, and the boy's room...I still have to make their beds. 3. We're going to a wedding on Saturday that is 6hrs from home. We have a 2 night hotel stay in San Luis Obispo and can I say though I am excited for the wedding...I'm really excited for the waffles that they serve at the hotel. It's been my big pregnancy craving to the point I almost bought a waffle maker but feared the amount of weight I would probably gain so I didn't purchase one. 4. DS3 has been growing like a little weed but he won't stop with the thumb sucking. @Jenly17 it's true that you won't be able to spend as much time with your first. Even though this is my fourth I feel like my attention for each child is becoming less and less and of course I feel extremely guilty for it. 5. @Kurrant umm your OB said what? Do they really only expect you to gain 1-2lbs in the last month of pregnancy? I would throat punch them and your DH for using that against you. It's not like your gaining 10lbs a week eating crap. 6. I don't want to make dinner tonight but that won't fly for 3 hungry kids and a hungry DH. 7. I bought 3 gallons of paint for my bathroom a few days ago and DH ran it over with his trailer. 2 of 3 didn't survive but now our tree is very unique. 8. I really want to move but if we do it before the baby then it won't be done the way I want... and if we do it after I won't be too much of a help (oh, bummer...) lol. Half glass empty huh? 9. Man, I am tired. Every time I would try to take a nap today someone would knock on my door. Seriously, I would lay down and then less than a minute later I would hear a knock. 10. Ok I need to do something
@merciel Congrats on your book release! Even if it's not your first, that's still really exciting news! I may have to check out those DA books...it's one of my favorite game series to play in ever. And how awesome is it that you get to create some of the canon for a franchise like this?!
Seriously, @Bluejay3030! We just moved and for some reason, I wanted one big transition instead of 4 little ones. Our first night in our new home, I had her sleep in her big girl bed with no paci. I literally had to give myself a pep talk! She hasn't looked back since which is great, but I feel like my baby is not a baby anymore I also just enrolled her in daycare for the end of June, which will be great for her and for me, but I think all of this growing up is making me so so sappy.
@Jenly17 I enrolled DD in part-time preschool that doesn't start until September, but I definitely know what you mean!! And kudos to you and your daughter for surviving all those transitions at one time!! My DD would probably not have slept a wink for a week in that scenario.
I kept telling myself: no guts no glory! Honestly, if I didn't need the crib for this second LO, I wouldn't have changed a thing. Wishing you easy transitions with your daughter!

Ours actually has this and adaptive cruise control too which we really never use bc it freaks even DH out too much (we tried it once at slow speed just in case), but basically you set the speed and if a car gets in front of you that's slower it will slow down or completely stop if needed and then when cars start moving again it starts going again until it eventually gets back to the speed you set.
I actually feel pretty confident in the software for it though. Any time the company ever has noticed even the smallest issue they have you come in for an update on it. Honestly we've had the car almost a year and that hasn't happened where it's affected us yet. But I do know they check automatically every time we go for an oil change (at least at our dealer). I dunno how I would be with a completely self driving car though.... That would be really weird.
