What's next: I have a doctor's appointment today, the next check in with the high risk clinic should also be booked today. We also move on Saturday so this week will be busy getting ready
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Heartburn has been rearing its ugly head the last two days. Yesterday every glass of water was like liquid fire. I think my epilepsy is acting up a bit too, so far nothing really concerning but I don't enjoy the feeling. Everything else is awesome. He's started moving more during the day so I keep getting caught off guard with random jabs and I love it.
How owe have you been holding up? For the most part pretty good. Moving and working has me busy and distracted. This week was a little rough between my brain and one of my staff called from the hospital with a probable miscarriage at 12w. My heart is just breaking for her. As per usual I'm anxious today but I'll be fine as soon as the doctor's appointment is over
GTKY: Nailing down a favourite food is nearly impossible (I'll take them all!). Tacos are way up there, brussel spouts sautéed with bacon, apples and peanut butter, cheese. Dammit I'm hungry.
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. Appointment next Monday. Going every two weeks now! According to my doc, I'm officially in the third tri! Woohoo!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Back to school today after two weeks of spring break, so kind of dragging this morning but I can't complain about the time off. I was able to get a lot done. I painted the crib and changing table yesterday and I am hurting bad today. Last night was rough trying to sleep with aches and pains and acid reflux, bleh! This kid is crowding my lungs lately too, so breathing has been a chore.
How have you been holding up (extra question? Pretty good, I had a bit of PGAL brain a few days ago when he wasn't moving around much after a couple days of being really active. Thankfully his movement picked back up again over the weekend so that was a relief. I was starting to freak out a bit that something was wrong.
GTKY: Favorite foods? Omg I am hungry all the time. Potato salad and tomato sandwiches are two of my favorites, summer food basically. Strawberry shortcake with fresh summer strawberries is my favorite dessert. I can't wait for summer, can you tell?

What's Next: No appointments for another few weeks but tomorrow starts my thrid trimester Also I noticed yesterday my mom was addressing my babyshower invites and they should be going out soon!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: The other day I got my first mild case of heartburn, it was very mild but lasted all day. Preston also likes using my blatter as a punching bag. I was driving back and froth to the cities with my DH last week (2.5 hours one way) to help get cars back to his dealership and we had to stop 4 times one way so I could use the bathroom. I told him with baby punching my blatter and the bounce of the trailer he's lucky I didn't pee my pants.
How have you been holding up (extra question? Great! Feeling so much better now that I'm not coming down with something every week. But I'm sooo ready for summer and nice weather.
GTKY: Favorite foods? I have been craving nothing but junk and it's terrible. I really need to cut it down or I'm going to be hating life when I'm trying to lose all this baby weight.
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. - Next Thursday! Finally!! Hate the waiting period between appts
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Acid reflux and lower back pain mostly on my right side. Before it was on my left but I am not complaining I had piriformis/sciatica pain BAD the first 3 months of my pregnancy. Feeling her kick a little more each day but not much movement yesterday. The few times I did feel her was a sigh of relief.
How have you been holding up? Doing much better every day as I grow and feel her move. I have my ups and downs about it but definitely in higher spirits just wish it was July already Used the heart Doppler for the first time in weeks the other day. Took a little bit to find the heartbeat since we haven't used it since everything has shifted up to where it needs to be now
GTKY: Favorite foods? Royal Fudge (Publix Brand) Ice cream with a cake cone! But seriously I love just about everything right now

What's Next: Currently sitting in the office doing my glucose test. Drink wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Moved into the bi-weekly appointments and I'm supposed to have an appointment right after this test but these guys were running behind so we'll see how that goes.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: the feet swelling continues. I seem to have a constant congestion. Anyone else? Not sure if it's pregnancy related or a cold. Ugh!!
How have you been holding up (extra question? More good days than bad I'm happy to say. The baby moves constantly but I'm nervous for when they tell me to start the kick counting. I'm sure that will stress me out!!
GTKY: Favorite foods? (Yes, I'm hungry ) Fruit!! I eat so much fruit. Just discovered how great mangos are. My love for pizza has remained constant!!
TiffRox81 I do with the constant congestion Doctor said it was pregnancy related. However, I have had an awful cold twice so far and babied it with just Tylenol to keep the fever down and slept it off. Was too scared to take anything for it even though they said it was ok. I end up also with a very dry nose... tmi coming...with bloody dry boogers or if I blow my nose in the morning there's some blood. I never had nose bleeds before until pregnancy.
I am super nervous too for the kick counting since I don't feel her as much as it is and its still light kicks and punches.

@Lynna813 Good to know! Thank you!! I wonder how a humidifier will work. I might buy it off my registry to use for myself.
It may! I honestly didn't even think about that! When I mentioned to one of the doctors about my hands and feet being swollen she noticed I sounded congested as well and said that the swelling in the sinus', hands and feet are all related to each other.

@TiffRox81 I've been congested pretty much from the get go (but not at all prior to being pregnant). I've been using a saline spray and it has helped a ton, especially because I was getting nose bleeds too and haven't since. A humidifier should help as well
@Lynna813 I'm a little disappointed, I was really excited about a cone made out of cake!
My guy started kicking harder and more frequently at 24 weeks even though I had been feeling him for a couple weeks. They still have so much room to flip about in there
@TiffRox81 super congested here. I think its the reason I'm still sick every morning (the post nasal drip). I get some relief from a neti pot, but nothing else seems to help.
Staus Update: 24+1
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc: Had a check-in this morning with the GD 1- hour test. Really hoping the next couple weeks go quickly so I can say I'm in the 3rd tri.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Physically I feel pretty good with the exception of carpal tunnel. It's gotten bad. the doctor seems surprised this morning that it was already as bad as it is and warned me it's likely to just get worse. I already have a brace for my right wrist, but need to get one for the left. Other than that just the usual stuff (back ache, nausea, etc) which is really all very mild.
How have you been holding up (extra question)? I had a freak out yesterday when I didn't feel him move for a couple hours. We tried the HB monitor but had a tough time with that too. I mentioned it to the doctor this morning and she said at 24 weeks its totally normal for him to be more or less active on any given day, he still has quite a bit of space to move around. She used the Doppler and found his HB right away and in the 30seconds we listened we heard movement 4 times...I only felt 1 of those moves. So it seems like he's moving a lot and I can only feel the big stuff still. It was very reassuring and the doctor was great so I'm in a much better place today!
GTKY: Favorite foods? In my pregnancy life Empire apples and avocado. I'm really enjoying the carrier foods for avocado as a result (chips, tacos, quesadillas, etc). The doctor warned me to keep my avocado consumption in check since they are high calorie. In my non-pregnancy life I had a wicked sweet tooth. I'm thankful that has been limited since its helping keep my weight in check!
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc: Next appointment in 2 weeks, which I get to take my glucose test. After this appointment, I have an appointment every 2 weeks, I can't believe it!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Sleeping is at a all time low, it does not matter if I go to bed early or late, I still wake up multiple time between 2 and 6, not to use the bathroom or because LO is moving, but just because my body wants to. LO doesn't really have a schedule as to when she moves around, but I am always relieved to feel something.
How have you been holding up: Pretty good, still have plenty of energy. Some minor aches and pains and the occasional swelling of the ankles, nothing this future mama cant handle.
GTKY: Favorite foods? I was all about mcdonalds, but now I have been craving healthier stuff. Salad, salmon, Shop House and Cava (local fast casual, health chains)
@Lynna813 I'm a little disappointed, I was really excited about a cone made out of cake!
My guy started kicking harder and more frequently at 24 weeks even though I had been feeling him for a couple weeks. They still have so much room to flip about in there
I'm sorry! Now that you say that...that sounds wonderful! They have recipes where you can take those cones and add cake mix to them and bake it...kind of like a cupcake!
That's good to know about the kicking. I can't wait for next weeks ultrasound to see her move and see what it is I am feeling (Is it her foot or her hand? Is she elbowing me?" lol). With my luck though she will probably be sleeping. I try to press around and see if I can feel her but I can't so that makes since about all the extra room in there.

@megstervt I loooooove avocados!!!! With everything. if I don't have chips or tortillas, I will eat them just with bread!
Status Update: Weeks + Days 24w2d
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. I have my GD test this weekend (ugh not looking forward to it) and OB appt 4/13.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:congested, swelling, and as of yesterday some leaky boobs! Also mood swings have been for real. This weekend we went away and it was so nice to just spend time with my husband. We had bad food (oops) and I enjoyed some delicious mocktails. My stomach was not happy with me, I'm hoping to make up for it this week. Also, my husband was able to feel the baby! Finally! He's been able to feel him a few times this week which was great.
How have you been holding up? If you asked me last week, I would say pretty good, however, as of last week I've been REALLY REALLY emotional and I am really struggling with that. During the week I let my work dissatisfaction get the best of me and I broke down into tears and couldn't stop crying. And yesterday, despite having a great weekend when we got home my husband and I tried to build an IKEA tv stand and out of frustration I started crying hysterically. you'd think our house was on fire. Turns out, IKEA sent us a faulty model and now we have to go back to the store to return it. I feel so silly and I feel terrible that my poor husband has to deal with everything. Any advice how to get out of the funk? I 've been exercising and I've tried to do things I "like to do". I tried to get a manicure last night and my nails looked terrible and I wish I hadn't gone. Also I have moments where my PGAL brain gets to me. Like this weekend, I convinced myself that the baby wasn't moving "enough" and that his kicks should be stronger. I'm really hoping it gets better.
GTKY: Favorite foods? I will never say no to pizza and french fries. I try to stay away from them but those are my favorite. That and Gatorade.
Question for all of you: have you started your registries yet (if you plan to do one)?
People are starting to ask me about it but I'm a bit scared. I know I will get around to it at some point. I probably won't have a shower until June, so there is plenty of time.

My husband and I just completed ours at buy buy baby, but there is no rush, we are still dropping things and adding things to the list. You can always start by looking at checklists of what is essential/nice to have/etc. for newborns and refine these lists to what you think is necessary for your LO. Also you could look at reviews of various products before you start an official registry. Therefore, you have knowledge on the products and can ask additional questions in store (if you choose to register at a place with physical stores). Also, before you start an official registry you can research what store works best for you (i.e. what stores have items that are at your price point, close to you/relatives, etc.)

I was scared to start one. I created one with BBB (Buy Buy Baby) on line last month and added maybe 5 things to it. We went to the actual store on March 29th per my husbands suggestion and it started becoming more realistic to me. We asked for a scanner and went to town and I felt ok for the first time in a long time. I'm still pretty nervous though. My shower will be June 11th. I will be around 33w3d kind of close to the finish line. I haven't purchased much accept for a few outfits. I almost want to wait till she is actually here to start on her nursery. I know what I want but its bringing myself to start it now. Creating her nursery before hand scares me I think more than the registry did now.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Heartburn, sciatica, exhaustion, moody. I have been one big old cranky baby the last week. I know it and I hate it! I'm hoping our Bradley class exercises will help this in the coming weeks. HOWEVER (since I'm trying not to be a big fat whiner ) My mom said shower invites are ordered for the shower and I am actually getting excited for it! Baby boy is a ninja and is pretty consistently active which is fun!!
How have you been holding up?: I keep wanting to get crap done and then I end up paying for it bad with my back. It sucks. But DH has been so thoughtful and takes care of EVERYTHING and has been rubbing my back almost every night now!
@MamaBish We've done our registry. My shower is May 1st so I bit the bullet. My husband and I went to BRU together and he was so over the top excited (and ridiculous) it cleared up my anxiety. Of course that also means I'm registered for some silly things

I made my Amazon one, partially just to get a good idea of what I will need to buy regardless of what people buy for my shower. My shower isn't until the end of May, but I figure if it's on the registry it can be my own shopping list too. I haven't done an in-store registry anywhere yet though...I may do a quick scan through Target at the end of this month but I don't know.

@Kellyj103I am with ya on the overload of emotional instability lately! I found myself actually asking DH the other night if we were OK. Like seriously my "normal brain" logically looks at everything he does for me/us and how sweet hes been with my mood swings, but "pregnant brain" took over and reared her ugly head and words spewed out. He was kind about it and very reassuring. Its just hard to turn it off!!
@MamaBish My husband and I did a registry through BRU and Amazon. I thought friends and fam would love the Amazon registry because of the ease with Prime, but so far no one has ordered from it, lol. Oh well! BRU has a great incentive program that sold us. I agree with PP about using the checklist and taking the time to add the necessities so if nothing else, you have an idea of the items you want for yourself! I had a couple new parent friends help me with things they felt have been actual needs and helped me avoid the unnecessary items.
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. Currently being infused with my remicade and OB appointment tomorrow. We are also starting child prep class Thursday! Big week!
Rants/Raves/Syptoms: 2nd tri is really treating me well. No complain except for reflux if I have a before bed snack. Otherwise energy level is great, sleeping is good and no aches and pain overall (I'm so gonna jinx myself!!!) seriously pregnancy and autoimmune disease are a great mix for me.
How have you been holding up (extra question? Good!
GTKY: Favorite foods? (Yes, I'm hungry ) right now I'm craving everything horseradish and avocado too. My favorite food is Asian (pho soup, sushi, grilled meat and veggies)
@kellyj103 I hear you on the mood funk, I was in that place last week. For me, I find it can be really helpful to tell myself it's OK to feel that way and not try to "make it better". I find that by accepting it and knowing it won't always be that way I can move on faster. Obviously if it lingers, I seek help, but this has been a successful strategy for me to figure out if it's normal hormonal mood swings or something more serious (since I have battled depression in the past). Also, like my grammy says, "sometimes you just need a good cry"
@mamabish we did our registry a couple weeks ago since I'm having a late april baby shower. I was NOT excited (combo of PGAL brain and I hate shopping), but DH was. It was cute seeing him get excited about picking a bathtub and pushing a stroller around the aisles so that helped. I downloaded the BRU app so I can edit the list from that when I want which has been easy and convenient. I like that I can go in for just a couple minutes when I'm in the mood and avoid it when I'm not.

I guess I'm the odd one out but NOOOOOO! I can't bring myself to. We did go yesterday to look at car seats and strollers but I just don't feel strong enough or maybe ready yet to commit to an actual list.

This is kind of how I feel. Last time, I had my registries all picked out and done. I wished I hadn't because the coupons/mailers do not stop. Email lists can be unsubscribed, but regular mail lists are not that easy. I don't want to do that to myself again... Even DH somehow got added to a mailing list for new moms. We get formula samples for him and he never even signed up for anything.
@megstervt Thanks for the advice! I think you are right that I need to accept things and my feelings as they are. And that it is ok to have a good cry. I totally understand what @chels0120 is saying about the pregnancy brain. Things that aren't a big deal then are all of a sudden a huge deal now. Like crying over a tv stand
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. Next appt on the 19th - it's been a long 6 week stretch on this one
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Today and yesterday baby has been moving like crazy! Overall, just super sore, esp I'm my low back. And the fatigue is definitely setting in... not sure how I will do a month of night shifts in May
How have you been holding up?? Pretty good. My loss was very early, so I'm just trying to enjoy all of the new milestones now.
GTKY: Favorite foods? All of the things, but esp frozen yogurt

I started my babies r us one super earlier (like end of first tri early) but I've been slowly adding/removing things from it. Then I started a Target one a few weeks ago that I'm still playing around with until my shower invites go out.

It's almost like the more/harder I try to get over it, the worse it gets. It lasts longer or my breakdowns are bigger. I do try to give my DH a heads up so at least he knows I'm more likely to be emotional and not be caught off guard.
i just cried over the fact that the clothes bar in the nursery is not level, so your tv stand breakdown is completely legit in my opinion!
@MamaBish I started my registries a few weeks ago and my husband and I felt so overwhelmed there were just too many options! We went with my MIL one time and then my mom and I went back to BBB on our own. I have definitely added/deleted things since then. I'm so indecisive! Also BRU does registry parties. I did not find out until afterwards but a friend told me that the staff is very helpful at the parties.
What's Next: U/s on Thirsday followed by my 1 hour GD test an OB appointment.
R/R/S: Insomnia and PSD. Still, it's nice to feel the baby move. I think my baby sleeps a lot. Or I just can't feel it much because of the anterior placenta.
How Are You Holding Up: Okay. I've been pretty worried about everything and very weepy but that sounds normal from what I'm reading.
GTKY: Italian, Mexican, Chinese fruit and comfort food. Don't know why I asked this question. I'm so hungry that I can't think straight. I'm still hungry! LOL. All the food.
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. Midwife appt and GD 1 hr are next week tomorrow we have week three of our birthing class.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: It's my husband's birthday so we came to the beach for a little getaway/babymoon. Unfortunately I am also an emotional mess lately so I'm trying to pull it together to gave a good time while we are here but I keep getting upset about things that aren't necessary. It's frustrating. Symptoms include heartburn, difficulty getting around in general, hip and pelvic pain, back pain, and feeling like my bladder is being smashed all the time.
How have you been holding up (extra question? Okay. It's hard not to get too in my head about whether he's moving enough even though he moves a ton, as soon as he stops part of me starts feeling nervous. I'm worried this will never stop and even after he's born I will be poking him awake when he falls asleep. I need to get a GRIP.
GTKY: Favorite foods? (Yes, I'm hungry ) I love food. Avocados, brie, fresh baked bread, a really good grilled cheese, SEAFOOD, pho, tomatoes, crunchy kosher dill pickles, bagels, hot pastrami with swiss, eggs benedict, a good crispy waffle, pistachio ice cream, pistachios, homemade mashed potatoes, cucumbers, raw green beans, my grandpa's homemade Mexican refried beans, mushrooms, blackberries......
I could go on, but now I need to go eat because clearly I am also hungry!
@TiffRox81 I have been congested my entire pregnancy, so not just you! @Kellyj103 I feel like I need almost all the Gatorades (I don't like some flavors lol) But I have been downing the strawberry flavors like crazy
Status update: 27 + 2
What's next: Today (Tuesday) is my GD test and my next OB check. It's also the start of my 2 week visits! Just had my first baby shower (DH's side and our friends) this weekend (had to have it way earlier than I wanted because of family stuff) and the second one (for my family who all lives hours away) is the 16th.
R/R/S: This heartburn/reflux, I'm so over it! I have had GERD since birth, but little man kicking my guts may be exacerbating it lol Plus it's making me more nauseous. I'm having some more seizure activity as well, it seems. I second the whole waking up (between 5 and 7) for NO reason other than my body thinks it's time to be awake. Less than thrilling. I keep getting told I've/he's "dropped" ... it seems weird to me, but I have noticed he sits so far down and forward a lot now, that sitting/leaning forward is painful if not impossible. Just because he is balled up there. The normal symptoms I've had all along seem to be more mild for the moment, so enjoying that.
How are you holding up?: Ok. Most days seem better than earlier in the pregnancy, but those foreboding days still come. The shower was very bitter sweet. I was so excited to celebrate with the people I love, but I think it just makes the feeling of "if something happens, now we have all this stuff for him" that much more surreal. He moves a LOT, which is so reassuring.
GTKY: Food in general LOL Anything strawberry, watermelon, Mexican food, Asian foods, green peppers... I'm always hungry so it could be pretty random
*Edit to change days...started it before midnight, ended it after*
I tried posting yesterday from my desktop, but the bump kept crapping out. Also, I have been trying to read daily but I haven't been posting much. I've been thinking of you all!
Staus Update: Weeks + Days - 27w
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. - GD test on 4/15
Rants/Raves/Syptoms: - I had a follow up u/s last friday to check if the placenta had moved up. It hasn't moved much at all. Because of this, I have another u/s for June 3. If it hasn't moved by then, we schedule a c-section for 35-36 weeks. I had been planning a cs all along but at 39 weeks. Losing a month is freaking me out, mostly because school ends on May 25 and I had been planning on using that last month to finish up all the things.
How have you been holding up (extra question? - Exhausted. We moved into our new house a week ago, during spring break, and I'm drowning in boxes. For the most part, it's functional, but not fully unpacked. Now that school is back in, I have no energy to unpack when I get home.
GTKY: Favorite foods?- Guacamole. But mostly just mashed avocado with salt and lime. Also, fruit punch.
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc. Routine appt tomorrow
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Over the past week I've been having more abdominal symptoms - maybe a little crampy (but not at all as bad as a period cramp, very light). A few times I've had an achey feeling in my very low abdomen. But then this morning I woke up with what I can only describe as "rectal pressure." Kind of feels like I need to poo, but nothing comes out. Also, constipation (nothing new there). Congestion combined with allergies (that's been going on for over a month). Hard to breathe when I lay down. Some mild insomnia. Extreme appetite continues and I'm still above the recommended weight gain and continuing to grow.
How have you been holding up: I keep thinking... ok, I've made it this far, I'm in the clear! And then still remembering that 26 weeks is still far from being in the clear.
GTKY: Favorite foods? I don't even know where to start. Tex-Mex (especially soft tacos). Turtle candy sundaes. All the pies. Loaded baked potatoes. Fried chicken. Oh man, I am hungry.

Re: 4/4/16 PGAL Check-In
What's next: I have a doctor's appointment today, the next check in with the high risk clinic should also be booked today.

Woohoo!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Back to school today after two weeks of spring break, so kind of dragging this morning but I can't complain about the time off.
What's Next: No appointments for another few weeks but tomorrow starts my thrid trimester
I have my ups and downs about it but definitely in higher spirits just wish it was July already
GTKY: Favorite foods? Royal Fudge (Publix Brand) Ice cream with a cake cone! But seriously I love just about everything right now
Me: 31 & Husband: 40
Married: November 2014
What's Next: nothing this week, Next week I have a bunch of appts.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: swelling is interesting to have
How have you been holding up (extra question)? Okay, just trying to distract myself still, it seems to help
GTKY: Favorite foods? Mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, strawberries with whipped cream
Its just a regular cone not the waffle or sugar kind
Me: 31 & Husband: 40
Married: November 2014
(Yes, I'm hungry
Me: 31 & Husband: 40
Married: November 2014
It may! I honestly didn't even think about that! When I mentioned to one of the doctors about my hands and feet being swollen she noticed I sounded congested as well and said that the swelling in the sinus', hands and feet are all related to each other.
Me: 31 & Husband: 40
Married: November 2014

I'm sorry! Now that you say that...that sounds wonderful!

July16 JULY siggy challenge
People are starting to ask me about it but I'm a bit scared. I know I will get around to it at some point. I probably won't have a shower until June, so there is plenty of time.
Me: 31 & Husband: 40
Married: November 2014
What's Next: Midwife appointment tomorrow.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Heartburn, sciatica, exhaustion, moody. I have been one big old cranky baby the last week. I know it and I hate it! I'm hoping our Bradley class exercises will help this in the coming weeks. HOWEVER (since I'm trying not to be a big fat whiner
How have you been holding up?: I keep wanting to get crap done and then I end up paying for it bad with my back. It sucks. But DH has been so thoughtful and takes care of EVERYTHING and has been rubbing my back almost every night now!
GTKY: Favorite foods? (Yes, I'm hungry
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc.
Currently being infused with my remicade and OB appointment tomorrow. We are also starting child prep class Thursday! Big week!
Rants/Raves/Syptoms:
2nd tri is really treating me well.
(Yes, I'm hungry

What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc.
Next appt on the 19th - it's been a long 6 week stretch on this one
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Today and yesterday baby has been moving like crazy!
All of the things, but esp frozen yogurt
i just cried over the fact that the clothes bar in the nursery is not level, so your tv stand breakdown is completely legit in my opinion!

27+2
What's Next: Appointments, Milestones, etc.
Midwife appt and GD 1 hr are next week tomorrow we have week three of our birthing class.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
It's my husband's birthday so we came to the beach for a little getaway/babymoon.
(Yes, I'm hungry
I love food.
July16 JULY siggy challenge
*Edit to change days...started it before midnight, ended it after*
Staus Update: Weeks + Days - 27w
GTKY: Favorite foods? - Guacamole.
