Two words... dental work. UGH!!!!! On Saturday I broke a tooth, and discovered a cavity hiding under the surface, that I guess had weakened my tooth. I don't have a dentist in this current temporary city. I was just seeing my old dentist, 4 hours away and was going to wait until our move in two months to find a new dentist. So, I don't have a dentist here and even if my old dentist was here he doesn't take my new insurance because it is a different state. Anyway... trying to find a dentist to get me in to get it fixed. And my mom and I go to NYC for a few days on Saturday. So I am stressing out about getting it done before then. I will probably need a crown and am so worried I might need a root canal. I have never really had any serious dental work done before, just a couple of cavities filled and some "extra" teeth pulled out. I just want to sit here and cry.

My MBF is so petty of me but I'm pretty sure I'm PMSing so theres the justification: Stealing other peoples quotes is horrible in my opinion, regardless of where you heard it. SIL started this FB page where she is now a motivational speaker. She created a picture of a quote and listed it as hers, when in fact I remember Squidward from Spongebob saying it. Don't act like you're deep and philosophical, you got it from a cartoon and then put your name on it.

@mrsstuessy - Oh no! Cavities like that are the worst! I had always had perfect teeth until a few years ago. I had my first-ever root canal a year ago. I didn't think it was that bad. They numbed the area, so I didn't feel anything. I was in and out, no issues. I hope that, should you need a root canal, that the same can be said for your experience.

My MBF is that someone from my department called in sick this morning and didn't give our secretary enough time to find a substitute, so now I'm trying to get my work ready for my sub for this week and I can't because I have to teach his class for him. The kids are good, which is nice, but it just means I will be here super late after school to get everything ready for my substitute, because I am a perfectionist..

@mrsstuessy Ugh dental work is the worst, I am so sorry that you have to go through that right before your trip! Finding a good dentist is hard too. Mine told me I have to get all 4 wisdom teeth pulled and I almost cried right there in his chair.

I already kind of mentioned my MBF in my WTO post, but DH has a man cold and while I was looking through gifs this morning, I found one that sums up my house right now. I like to think this is accurate.

My MBF is consistently coming home to a cluttered house. DH is a pack rat, and I am not. If I have not worn, used or even thought about it in 6 months, I'm going to get rid of it. Our house is embarrassingly cluttered, mainly because we are in the process of constructing a walk in closet, and our mud room is our temporary closet. I try very hard to be patient with DH about this, but some days I just want to sit in the floor and cry because our house is so messy and there's nothing we can do. Prior to moving in with DH, I kept a very neat place. Not only neat, but clean. And because he just can't part with stuff, we have to live in what feels like hoarders paradise to me. I'm so over it.

@thj101 - I feel like we are the same person right now. I keep trying to get rid of stuff, but DH is VERY resistant. He doesn't want to let things go. We got a new bed in September and the old one has been sitting in our basement since then. We will never use it, nor will we have need for it any time soon. DH will NOT let it go. Our basement is a wreck and our house is cluttered. I've let go of so many things that were mine before we got married, but DH won't do it. It's soooo frustrating!

@berkebaby In addition to clutterfest at my house we have taken over my parent's storage locker in town. To the point where 80% of what is in this 10x20 storage unit is ours. (My parent's are also tossers of items they don't use) I'm to the point now where I just want to throw everything away. I just don't care. I don't know how to communicate to DH that holding onto things like a water tube, when we no longer have a boat, is stupid! In a 1,200 sq ft house no less!

ETA sorry for the vent... It just makes going home so stressful. haha

I'm desperate to be pregnant but I don't want to do all this nonsense. I don't even want to get laid.

I want to lay on the couch, watch crappy reality TV, eat chocolate, and magically get knocked up. Is that too much to ask?

@thj101 - OMG...yes. We are the same person. I try to explain to DH that, if you haven't used it in a year, then that probably means you won't be using it the following year. He keeps saying that we might need some of the stuff when we move to a bigger house, but I highly doubt we are going to have room for any of it! He wants me to clear out more of my stuff, but his stuff is filling 80% of the house! The only things I've brought with me are my clothes, my desk, a bookcase, and a few boxes of stuff because we don't have room for me to empty the boxes! So frustrating! I feel your pain!

My mbf is to my mortgage servicer. My husband and I combined banking this past month after two plus years of marriage and six years of living together. I switched the mortgage to auto deduct from our new joint account, then emptied out my personal checking, verifying the mortgage had the new info before zeroing it out. Ditech deducted the mortgage from the old, empty account anyway. For the first time in my life, I'm overdrawn

And Ditech is making changes to their accounts so I can't access any of my information til 4/10. I feel like a criminal. A very angry criminal.

@berkebaby haha yep! Just another example.. The room we are turning into a closet, did serve as a makeshift closet at one time, but it is adjacent to the bathroom that we just added, so during construction of that it became a catch all room for tools, wood etc... There's still clothes and shoes, and other stuff in there, we are just not able to access it because of all the construction stuff piled up in front of it.... And this stuff, we have not been able to access for 2 years. So in my mind there's no point in keeping it, because we haven't went digging for anything in there... but no....... We just need to go through it and see what we want to keep... DH also likes to complain about how his tshirts get wrinkled in his chest of drawers (that's filled to the brim) and I said, well, that's because you won't get rid of any of your clothes! He still has sweaters that he wore in the 8th grade.

@QueenSunscreen That exact same thing happened to us. We got married and combined our bank accounts about a year later and DH's school loan people took the auto payment out of his closed account and we didn't even know it for like a week until we got a letter telling me they were going to get an outside company involved if we didn't pay them by like 2 days later. Ugh! It was such a pain. I feel ya!

My MBF is irresponsible pregnant people. My coworker is about 6 weeks pregnant. Got married in December and they/she (cause her DH wasn't really ready) trying right away. I know for a fact she never started prenatals, fast forward to her getting KU almost right away, and she doesn't even have a doctor yet. She is just now asking people for recs for an OB. Who the F plans to get pregnant and hasn't even looked into a doctor yet. Be a responsible human being. And put down the damn rockstar energy drink.

@queensunscreen that really sucks... Mortgage companies are the worst.. My full time job is in insurance, and I have to send renewal bills for mortgage companies to pay escrow every year, and almost every mortgage company I send renewal info to, I have to resend a bill because it got "lost" or they never received it.

My MBF is about my boss. I have an unusual situation where I have two jobs and he's my boss at both - I work as the manager of a community organization of which he is the chair, but also do some work for him at the business he owns. So we're close, and I'm close to his family. And he's had a rough year both in his business and in his personal life which I am 100% sympathetic to. But I do a LOT of covering for him and I spend a lot of time taking things off his plate and making him look like he has a handle on things when I know he doesn't. So when I prepare an agenda for a board meeting of which you are the chair and print everything off for you, make tons of notes in the margins to tell you what to say where and when and make you look like you know what you're talking about when you don't, and leave it on your desk with a ton of little sticky notes, the least you could do is READ THE AGENDA AND BRING IT WITH YOU. Instead I had to scramble 2 minutes before the meeting in a stage whisper trying to bring him up to speed on everything he's needed to know in the last month.

My MBF is a doozy.

So, our flight back from Florence was scheduled to leave at 12:55 on Saturday. We were late trying to leave the runway, and then they said that "wind" was an issue (it was a perfect day outside...) and that we would try another runway. No go. So in order to lighten our plane, they took everyone's luggage off. We left about 2 hours late, sans luggage. When we arrived to Munich for our connection, we had, of course, missed our flight. We were rebooked the next morning (an entirely different MBF, but I guess all's well that ends well) via two different airlines. They also told us that our baggage was going to travel via a different carrier (which I later learned is a no-no) and arrive just slightly behind us. Of course, it never arrived. The carrier told us it was on an airplane headed for DC, and that it would be delivered within 24 hours. Welp. We have no proof that it got on that airplane, or that it ever was scanned into DC. It may also have been put on yet ANOTHER airplane headed for my city, which is outside the DC delivery range. But as yet, nobody can tell me where my fucking luggage is.

You guys, it was my fucking honeymoon. I brought every goddamn expensive bra I own. I brought beautiful new sweaters and a fancy fucking raincoat and my best shoes. I brought lingerie. My husband's bag is even worse - all of his Ledbury and Brooks brothers shirts (over $100 each, and probably 9 of them), plus a couple pairs of travel khakis that were $170 a pop, his fancy man shoes and fancy man jeans. We also purchased about $1000 in wine and other souvenirs. All told, I would value our bags at over $10k. And nobody even knows what fucking country they're in.

I'm so pissed off and stressed out.

So tempted to raise the MBF: In Law Edition thread from the dead... My MIL straight up slapped me across the face yesterday. Not sure if this needs a TW or not, but just in case…

DS#2 is four. He was outside with MIL and DS#1 riding bikes after dinner at the ILs. I hear crying coming closer to the door and MIL yelling at him. I can tell he got in trouble for not listening just from what I heard. They start walking through the door and DS#2 tries to shut the door in her face. I don’t think he did it in her face intentionally, but he was aiming to slam the door out of frustration from getting in trouble. MIL lost it. She grabbed him by the back of the back of his sweatshirt and yanked him back hard and was screaming in his face. We have had issues with her taking discipline too far before and DH has had talks with her. Well, she crossed my line, so I went over there to intervene and removed her hands from him. She immediately said “But he slammed the door in my face!” I nudged DS#2 behind me so I was in between the two of them and started to say “I don’t care, you are to never –“ SLAP! Right across my face. In front of my kid! Thankfully, DH was on his way into the room to see what was going on and saw what she did. He took her downstairs (away from kids) and yelled at her. He totally had my back and told his mom we were leaving. It took me a few hours to really calm down. DS#2 came up to me right before bed last night and said “Mommy, I’m really super sad that you got slapped.” Broke my heart. I still can’t believe she did that. And my face still stings this morning.

Tw. Pregnancy. Not mine.

My best friend at work got pregnant in February and I've known since then and been super happy for her. She had been off bcp for quite awhile. She announced at work today and after everyone congratulated her; they pretty much all turned to me and were like "what about you?" (It's 100% normal in their culture. You get married to have babies so I Semi-understand but it doesn't make it any easier) what doesn't make it easier is tomorrow marks one month before it's been one year. I'm having a hard time anyway and then add 20 women asking why I'm not pregnant. I wanted to scream IM TRYING!

@BerkeBaby @PepperAT thanks for the encouragement. More than anything I just want to get it done so I can move on with my life. Someone from my insurance company is looking around for an open appointment space for me. It has been 3 hours now and still nothing. And I did call again about an hour ago. I am about to go all Cast Away and find an ice-skate and just deal with it on my own.

@berkebaby I hate that! My school divides them up and I wind up with like 5 extra bodies in a room that's already too small for the 22 bodies normally in there.

@sarah0985 - That would freak me out. My classroom is barely big enough for 20 students...adding 5 more would make it really uncomfortable. And there wouldn't be enough desks for them! I guess I can't complain too much, though. I work at a school big enough for 1,100 students...we have over 1,800 this year and are projected to have even more next year! There are teachers in the core classes that are stuffed with over 35 students. As an ESL teacher, state mandates say that I can't have more than 25 or so in a class, which would be insane! I don't know how some teachers handle 35+!

@BerkeBaby ; @thj101 I'm fairly certain we're all married to the same man. My DH is the hugest pack rat/hoarder I've ever personally known. Right after we got married and I moved in I decided to tackle the enormous mess that was the master bedroom closet. You would not believe the things I found in there. My personal favorite was a takeout box with a half-eaten burger and some fries buried under a pile of clothes and other random hoarded items. The receipt that was stapled to the top of the take-out box said it was from 2 years prior. A half-eaten burger from 2 f***ing years ago what the actual f***? I mean seriously. That's just gross.

When we were living in a tiny, tiny apartment we had a futon that DH couldn't part with that we moved from our townhouse to the apartment. During the moving process the futon broke and there was absolutely no way we were going to be able to fix it without spending more to fix it than it was worth. I told him we should just get rid of it because we literally had little walk-ways through the clutter in the apartment. Which is insane, just let me say. But no, DH couldn't part with it so we kept a broken, useless futon for nearly 2 years till DH's brother finally convinced DH to let him take it.

With my DH I've literally started just taking things he that hasn't worn/used in over 2 years and probably won't ever wear/use again and throwing them away/giving them away. I just pick a few items every couple of weeks. 2 shirts here, 1 old pair of ski goggles there, etc. I don't think I'm getting rid of stuff as fast as he collects new things to horde but at least maybe it'll keep us off an episode of hoarders in a couple of years. /sigh

@linzrunz WTF? That just isn't right. I don't think I'd be visiting my MIL again for a long time if she pulled something like that. Ugh. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I'm angry for you.

@nwegman7878 Sometimes I question the decisions of the mods. I don't understand a lot of what gets done/doesn't get done on the boards. I'm sorry you got warned.
