Rants/Raves/Questions: I am getting a wonderful combination of nasal congestion and dryness, so I wake up to a nose full of mucus and blood. Makes for a really pleasant morning...On the bright side, I actually got to stay up and play video games in the evening with DH and our friends! Normally, that's our nightly relaxing time (MMOs instead of TV), but I've been so beat since the BFP I haven't had the energy. It's nice to fall back into a bit of the old routine
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? Nothing really, though I have started looking through the baby sections when I'm in stores now. MIL brought me a bunch of newborn and #1 diapers she had left over from my niece's birth this past fall, so it kind of got me in the mood to browse. They are just so tiny!
GTKY: What is your best memory from childhood? Do you plan to try and recreate it for your kids or go down a new path? Definitely spending time at my family's cottage on the lake (Perth area, for any other Ontarians in the Monday group!) We still have the cottage in the family, but it's looking a bit less sure for the ages when my kid(s) could enjoy it. Plus, I now live in Alabama, so the travel is a bit more difficult. I'd love to make that a regular place for my family, too, but if not there, then anywhere outdoors with woods and water will work.

Rants/Raves/Questions: @Jabreen I have been having the same nasel problems! I thought it was allergies but now I think pregnancy related. TMI - One side has such a bad dry spot I've had to put neosporin on it, very awkward but effective.
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? No, but yesterday we went to tagret and spent a while looking at baby stuff, I need to do research now...
GTKY: What is your best memory from childhood? Do you plan to try and recreate it for your kids or go down a new path? I remember we would go a few hours to go to a children's museum (COSI). We would leave right after school/work and spend the night in a hotel, swim for hours, order pizza, and then go the museum the next day and then go back home. I loved every part, my parents were very playful parents and playing in the pool was so much fun.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I think I was nesting this weekend, so weird as I usually am not one to clean unless I have to. Anyone else think this pregnancy is going by really quick?

GTKY: What is your best memory from childhood? Do you plan to try and recreate it for your kids or go down a new path? Probably traveling with my family. We would drive to Disneyland (grew up in WA state) and stop all along the west coast on the way down and back. I hope we can do something of the sort, but it could be hard since we're in the Midwest now and are farther away.

Meet fpund out on Saturday that we are expecting a little girl!!! I cannot believe it!!! My 4yr old son was a bit disappointed at first but seems excited now!

I'm going through all of Clark's baby clothes to sell, donate, and to give to family. I didn't realize I had so much for him!

We spent a ton of quality family time outside hiking, camping, playing sports, boating, etc. I want to pass that along and hopefully my kids will gain a love for nature like I did!

Rants/Raves/Questions: I felt baby move, just for a second or two at a time, but it happened twice over the weekend. It's early, but I'll take it!

My Dad was in the military so we moved a lot, which meant a lot of roads trips to visit my Grandparents. There were 5 of us kids, plus my parents in the minivan and it was so much fun! We live a lot closer to my parents now so the trips to see them aren't really "road trips" as I know them. I'm hoping DH's parents move back to Florida from overseas sometime in the next couple of years. That would be a fun trip to take.

GTKY: What is your best memory from childhood? Do you plan to try and recreate it for your kids or go down a new path? We did a lot of road trips and spent time at a cabin too. I hope we can do both of those things with our kiddos. And I hope we can resist relying too much on DVDs for car entertainment. Some of my very best memories are of my brother and I finding ways to have fun in the car on long trips.

Upcoming appointments: I have my 16 week appointment on Friday, I scheduled it ahead because I thought I was going to be out of town next week. I also have an appointment on Saturday at Stork Vision to find out the gender. We did it with both of our boys and it was a lot of fun. They do the 3D/4D imaging and it's only $70. It's a 1/2 hour session, they give you a DVD of all the footage and pictures. It's also done in a relaxing living room style space so you can invite 5 or 6 people if you have family in the area. We always invite our parents.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I think I felt baby move this weekend, I'm pretty certain. On Saturday and again last night watching TWD...man that was a hard episode to watch. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? 16 week appointment and Stork Vision. If it's a boy then we have 3 boys and I have to go through our bins of clothing. If it's a girl I have a lot of purging to do.
GTKY: What is your best memory from childhood? Do you plan to try and recreate it for your kids or go down a new path? A little bit of both, recreate and new. I grew up near Madison, WI and still am in the area. I loved day trips to Chicago to visit the museums, and camping trips in the Northwoods, road trips etc. We do want to do all of these things, and have already done some of it. As a kid we never flew anywhere, I hadn't been to Disney World, we went to the Outerbanks of NC a few times but always drove. I would like to do trips to FL and CA and TX etc with the kids. We did Disney last fall and it was a blast. I had never been either. Universal was my favorite with Harry Potter Land. We watched the movies with our 4 year old before going.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I painted the nursery over the weekend and I'm in love with the color. It's so relaxing in there and I love sitting in the rocking chair and having a few quiet moments.
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? The nursery is about 80% done. I just need some new crib sheets, a new crib mattress and some art that I need to order from etsy. I might get some of that done this week.

I loved going on vacations with my family. We try to do something every summer even if it's just a short trip somewhere close. We just booked a week in Destin, FL for Memorial Day and I can't wait to relax on the beach while my kids play in the sand. They keep asking "are we going on vacation this week?!".

I loved spending time with my grandparents. I really hope my baby is able to have amazing memories with his as well.
How big is baby? Mango - at my anomaly scan they estimated about 7oz for weight!

Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? Nope! Ending my vaca in FL tomorrow and next week we start prepping for baby, since this is baby #2 we decided to wait till vacation was over to prep for baby. Not too much to do except pull out some newborn clothes.

I started the registry today but it's so overwhelming, so many things! I got the baby bargains book and it's been really helpful. It'll probably take me a few days to go through everything.

There are so many good things but one of my favorite things was going to work with my dad, he is a civil engineer and I got to roll around in big piles of sand and dirt, I also got to sit on huge trucks. Hopefully grandpa will be around to take this kiddo to work.

Rants/Raves/Questions: Not baby related but I've been overwhelmed with work and taking a course. The course is ending this week and my workload at work is decreasing (in some ways) so I'm looking forward to being more relaxed and having less stress in the next couple weeks.
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? No, I am waiting to hear the heartbeat again before I do anything big. I am thinking of getting started on a baby blanket this week though. We'll see.

Most of my best memories are summers at my grandparents' cottage. We don't have the cottage anymore but my mom has a cottage and my dad lives north of the city in the country. I definitely look forward to doing many of the same activities with this little one just in a new setting.
