TMI- Discharge Question

Sorry... I know this is gross but I'm curious to know if anyone else has had a change in discharge.  Yesterday I started having more than my normal amount of discharge and it's clear and watery with a foul odor. Not enough to fill a pad but just enough to keep my underwear damp. The quantity seems to have lessened today but the smell has not subsided. I haven't had any other changes in the way that I feel, no itching, burning, vaginal pain, contractions etc.  Obviously I'll call my doctor's office tomorrow but I just wanted to see if there is something I'm not thinking about here.

FWIW- there has been no action in that area for some time since life itself is wearing me down.

  • I have had a change in quantity but not type nor odor. I'd definitely call.

  • Unfortunately yes I've experienced this. Mine would soak through a panty liner and my underwear. So gross. I had gone to L&D for other cramping, pains, contractions and they checked that out as well. They said it's just cervical mucus/ discharge. But it's watery and just as you described. Another joy of pregnancy.
  • The odor is what would concern me. Normally that means some sort of infection. Calling your doctor is the way to go!
  • If it's overly stinky I would be somewhat concerned, but if it just has a slight unpleasant smell I wouldn't worry. I've had an increase in discharge for sure. Panty liners every day.

  • I would call also. My doctor told me that a bad smell could indicate bacterial vaginosis which is not overly serious but something you would need to take care of as soon as possible.

  • My undies are for sure soaked by the end of the day and it's a new smell for me , I wouldn't describe as overly stinky just different .
  • My smell has for sure changed and by the end of the day... I would say im stinky (no shame here) because between the warmth and the discharge things just get smelly!!

If it has any sort of foul or fishy odour DEFINITELY call the doc. Fishy odour with greyish coloured discharge is a sign of vaginosis. If it's just more profuse it may just be another lovely pregnancy symptom. Having more discharge is likely to make you smellier than usual.
  • I call it swamp crotch. I change my panties midday because I can't stand panty liners, and the extra potent vagina smell grosses me the heck out.

Yup. I call it "being tropical" because I'm basically a rainforest down there. Weirdly, it's exactly the same feeling/smell id get when I would ovulate!
  • Well, here I was feeling gross for having swamp crotch. Glad I'm not the only one!
  • I've taken to using those wet cottonelle wipes after the bathroom to feel refreshed
