I've been so worried about picking a name that is too common, I think I might be over thinking & coming up with names we don't love.....I know Emily is common but my husband and I both love it and I don't want anything too trendy that doesn't age well. We also love the name Summer but was thinking maybe "Emily Summer" for my second daughter (older sister is Brooke Riley). Thoughts? Due date is next Wednesday.
Emily Summer is a beautiful name, and I like Emily and Brooke as a sibset. I would tell you to use the name that you love regardless of popularity. That doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. You don't want to use a name you only like thats is less popular and regret not using your favorite down the line.
I like Emily. There is a difference between popular and trendy. I would never avoid a popular name of my H and I loved it. If I heard Emily I wouldn't know if you were talking about a baby a teen or an adult. Something like Harper she's under 5, 99% chance. Emily and Brooke are a great sibset
Re: Overthinking girl's name?
We we were not wanting a popular name either. But for dd2, we ended up with a top 20 name bc it felt right for her. I don't regret it.
Emily and Brooke sound great as sister names.
