@ahernandez16 That is such amazing news I'm so happy for her and your family! Also I literally hate your cousin's fiancee and I've never met her! I think your plan is fantastic and, as your LB, I totally approve!
@lilwatz I need more details about your cake! Like what flavor will it be?! I love cake so much
I can't believe we're getting so close to having these LO's
Almond cake with raspberry filling. The tasting is helping us decide between raspberry buttercream and a raspberry jam or jelly like filling. I am leaning toward the buttercream. It was from HEAVEN. But both were delicious!
@ahernandez16 She is such an impossible moron! Good on you for putting yourself first. She is ridiculous and it's too bad people don't have balls to tell her. Hope she's seeing help...
@ahernandez16 that makes me so angry that I think I'm going to go eat a bowl of ice cream in your honor...
My random for the day. I can't find a pink lamp base anywhere so I ran into my local goodwill and found this bad boy for $2.92. Went next door to hobby lobby and got some pale pink chalk paint for $5. Now I just need a shade! Excited about this project!

Cute! I love good finds like that!
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
I don't even have words for your family situation @ahernandez16 except to say that that you're handling the situation a lot better than I would.
So cute @VikingGirl12 -- I have such bad luck with thrifting, I so rarely find anything worth buying. If you can't find a matching lamp shade, you can apparently spray paint lamp shades (although I admit I've never tried).
Despite my aunt talking to my cousin, his fiancée has opted to not change her baby shower date from my graduation date. She's "compromised" and agreed to push it back a few hours which will likely force everyone to run to get out of my ceremony to be at her party an hour away on time. Her and my cousin also will not be attending my graduation ceremony because she's on "strict" bed rest (eye roll) and can't be up walking. But she can have and host a baby shower??? Okay. She didn't even have the balls to text me herself and tell me all of this. She had my cousin do it.
So frustrating BUT I decided to be the bigger person and just not throw a fit, I told my cousin I'd hold off on a big party until after the baby is born and I can have a combination celebration and drink but that I likely will not be able to attend the shower.
And thennnnn, I devised a plan to invite my family out to lunch to celebrate after my ceremony and whoever chooses not to come will not receive a phone call from me when I go into labor and will likely hear it through the Grapevine and/or see it on Facebook after he's born. They'll be SO mad, but I doubt that I'll even care. If they can't realize how ridiculous this all is and take an extra hour to have lunch with me I'm going to be genuinely hurt and being petty seems to be the only thing that might make me feel better.
C'mon. I can't be the bigger person ALL the time....
My random thought of the day ... I went to one of my good friends baby showers today. It was about 70 women at a very nice & upscale Italian restaurant but she didn't open any gifts, there were no games, no decorations at all- nothing baby related! She nor her mom addressed the party at any time (she went table to table & said hello etc) but it was sooooo not about the baby etc, it felt like a ladies luncheon! I was disappointed because she knows she's having a girl & I was looking forward to seeing all the cute girly gifts she got!
@ahernandez16 it really didn't feel like one! The only "shower-Esque" thing about it was she gave out adorable & nice favors, pink umbrellas & full sized bottles of wine... But that was it, I did not feel like I attended a shower at all!!
So... took the boys to the zoo today. Drove 2.5 hours one way, spent 3 hours walking around, drove 45 to eat, then the rest of the way home. I feel like I've been hit by a train. I have a hip and rib out of place, my feet feel like they are huge and I literally fell out of our suv when I got home. Walked into our house bent on half. I'm so glad I found a good man. Carried DS2 in to bed (DS1 went home with grands) Helped me to the couch and got me some tylenol. Bless him
Edit to add: he just had to help me to the bathroom and I just realized I'm supposed to teach 3 year olds at church tomorrow. Uhoh
@ahernandez16 your cousin and his fiancée are stupid. I like your plan. @lilwatz I need a piece of your cake, please @sdnybrk1 I hope you at least enjoyed the zoo!
I finally picked up my chair for the nursery and I love it! Nursery has finally been started! Woohoo!
@ahernandez16 I'm really sorry she's a petty ass B and stealing some shine from your amazing day. You've accomplished so much and your family should be so proud of all you have done (not to mention your grace under skidouche fire)...I hope you have an amazing graduation.
Thanks for making me feel a little less petty, ladies. I can't vent to my family and H gets irrationally angry about the whole thing so it's nice to be able to come here and vent. You guys are the best.
@ahernandez16 - Screw that noise. Your cousin sucks. Hugs.
My random for the day....whoever invented wall decals must have been a sadist. Seriously, I think it would have taken less time to paint the damn design.
Up until tonight, I've been happy to be the DD and have even encouraged my husband to indulge, even over-indulge a bit since I can't. Well, he just lost that privilege. Got home from an night out with friends and he first passes out on the living room floor, not sure how that even happened. Then, stumbled into and breaks a shelving unit in our room, spilling its contents everywhere. Then, it takes me 30 minutes of convincing him to get into bed as he lets the dogs out for a third time in 20 minutes, brushes his teeth again and decides that he wants to talk...all while he's yelling at me for telling him that the dogs don't need let out again, he's already brushed his teeth and no, I don't want to talk right now. Dear lord, I remember my first beer. *End rant*
@junebabyjoy What's with idiot drunk men last night? Honestly, the one bright side of being pregnant is that my husband voluntarily stopped drinking. He has a couple drinks here and there, but I haven't seen him drunk this entire pregnancy. Your husband's behaviour is not okay with kids around, so it needs to stop now. My dad was an alcoholic and I'm so sensitive to the impact of that behaviour on kids. I like to have a good time and I'm not a saint, I've had plenty of messy nights over the years--but now that kids are on the way, it has to stop or has to happen outside the house.
Sorry you had to deal with that and I hope he wakes up very apologetic in the morning. Hugs.
@ahernandez16 your cousins fiancé is freakin nuts! You've taken the high road all along, so I'm all for your current plan.
@junebabyjoy yup H was a piece of work last night too. We went out to a friends house for dinner and drinking and I was the DD. I have no problems with that, but I had an awful migraine that not even the prescription meds from my OB touched. I wanted to leave at 10:30 and he gave me a hard time, was waisted, and really loud the whole way home.
I came down this morning when the kids got up and he left dirty dishes out on the counter, there's a puddle of water on the floor, and my dry erase calendar was knocked off the wall. My head still hurts and I'm annoyed.
@ahernandez16 I am so happy to hear about your SIL. Holy crap. I would be a sobbing mess!!
The journey back from Oahu was tough (time changes) but my kid has been sleeping like a champ. Love him. We did come home to a mess though.... FML.
Today I fully intend to spend most of my day on the couch and planning out how my week could be successful. However, I will probably just try and get more sleep.
PS. Since I couldn't eat the sushi, I taught my DS to like it. I am not sure if this is flame worthy (can a 2.5yo eat raw tuna?). I didn't look it up. But he loved it.
Welcome back @NicknShan ! Hope you had the best time! FWIW, I totally intend to teach my son to love sushi. Since H hates it I need someone to go for sushi with, lol!
@catherinekate - luckily this is completely out of character for him and I'm sure he'll be all sorts of apologetic. Although him apologetic is looking at me like a wounded animal and like I'm going to bite his head off which just makes matters worse.
Either way, I know this would never becan issue once LO is around, which is why I've encouraged him to indulge while he can. He just lost it last night somehow and I was so not in the mood to babysit him.
I can relate @junebabyjoy my DH has done the same thing a few times now just trying to get it out of his system. It's really hard when you want to go home early but because you are the DD it's hard to convince him. I told him that I didn't even get one last hurrah after I got a BFP in August so he's lucky but don't push it!
@NicknShan@DeePaddy24My kid's been eating raw sushi since like 6 months...am I the worst? She doesn't really like it at the moment but she's in that crazy picky toddler stage that all kids go through.
@junebabyjoy ugh. Sorry about your H. I hope he apologizes profusely this morning.
Mine hasn't drank much since I got pregnant because we often drink together and he doesn't like drinking alone. But when we go to parties or we're with others he does tend to go a bit all out and he's an annoying drunk. We have a wedding in a few weeks that I know will have a full open bar and I told him if he can't walk up the stairs to our apartment when we get home he's sleeping in the car.
@sdnybrk1--I am so worried about that. My moms group has plans to go to the zoo in two weeks and I can't not take my daughter (1 because we renewed our zoo membership early so we could go and 2 she wants to be a doctor for animals in the zoo when she grows up and talks about it all the time). Hubby won't be able to come and we will be getting home before he gets home from work. We also have a few other outings planned that I don't want to miss because I want her to have as much summer as she can before the baby gets here and we are stuck in the house for 4-6 weeks. Snyway, I'm sorry you're so sore, I'm glad hubby took good care of you, and I hope you are feeling better this morning.
@ahernandaz16--good job setting your limit before so he knows he'll have to sleep in the car.
Hubby doesn't drink often, but his office had an open bar at their Christmas party and he definitely had too many. I think it was the first time I've ever really seen him drunk.
We had my niece last night for a sleep over, again. This time, I didn't take any elbows or slaps to the face!! But I had her knees in my back ALL NIGHT..... Love this kid, but seriously, do you HAVE to sleep all sorts of crooked?! Now she's trying to be secretive and she's playing with the bunny. Lol. I can hear her opening the jar of pumpkin seeds we have decided that Uncle G needs to take us bowling today (before we go get pedicures with Grammy) so we are going to make breakfast.
@ahernandez16 - that is genius and I will have to put that rule in place from now on! I really should have just left him passed out on the floor...
I am pretty sure he won't be indulging like that again anytime soon. I've gotten multiple "I'm sorry I was a drunken asshole..." And he knows he going to pay for it by cleaning while I do homework this afternoon soooo I suppose he's out of the dog house for now.
@PBear93 I'm actually feeling better today. Lots of popping going on when I move, but not at stiff. It's alot of walking and I should have sat down more. I don't think I did the entire time except in the car. Plus I hate walking slowly so I was trucking it. Bad idea. My mom wants to go to the beach next month and I want to go, but I'll be 34 weeks and the car ride seems really daunting.
Y'all here is some advice: get in shape between pregnancies. Seriously, I didn't and I regrettably feel much older than I am and I've never gotten rid of past baby weight (aka ive retained almost 40lbs since my first pregnancy). I'm only 30. Momma is getting in shape after this one!

I mean I can see no gift opening due to the volume of guests MAYBE but that totally doesn't even sound like a shower, lol.

Also @dennyandlee that chair is freaking CUTE.

@ahernandez16- you've been more than accommodating to Crazy. I applaud your restraint.
My random: my girlie bits are sore from peeing/wiping so much. I think it's time to employ The Dab.
Sorry you had to deal with that and I hope he wakes up very apologetic in the morning. Hugs.

WTF is with the drunk husbands? Fellas, get your shit together. Not cool.

I miss my sushi so so so much!!
