@oxinfree so sorry you're feeling worse today but yay for trigger tonight!! Sunday retrieval! That's great!! I've been feeling better tonight though still little achy from follicles growing in there. Hope they get a bunch of eggs which it sounds like they will. That's awesome! @tulips29 that's great you have an appt Sunday so they can see how those follicles are progressing. Feeling like the ovaries are about to fall out is so weird, isn't it?! I don't remember ever feeling like that before so if that means I have more follicles and will get more eggs this time that would be so great. @vssbrm sorry you're still hurting. Did you get some ice cream? That sounds so good! @foxy8609 that's great 2 good embryos. Hoping for normal embryos for you. How long til you get the results?
Afm, Ha, just finished meds. I was like wow that went in great when did Menopur. Felt better than the follistim which is rare. Then ganirelix time and it went in so smooth. I was like you sure you gave me all of the dose? Lol! But then within a minute or two it was stinging! Still is. I'm laying in bed having some Gatorade. Had water during the day and wanted to make sure I'm staying hydrated.

Oh my gosh guys.... DH just gave me my trigger... I really wish I had of videotaped it. He was so nervous, and I just kept being like "no, don't..." and he'd cut me off and be like "I know I know" except he was doing the exact opposite of what I was trying to tell him. Haha. Oh well.. we got it done and all HCG'd up now. Phew.
@Foxy8609 - I'll hope your results come back sooner than later. I'm sure that's nerve-wracking.
@lilsweetheart115 - funny how you can think it was all painless and then very quickly it turns to oooh oooh that hurt . Very odd, and I'm sorry you're experiencing it. I got it too, so I guess its normal. I find icing very helpful (sitting with an ice pack on my trigger injection site as I type this).

@oxinfree omg lol! He did do it correctly, right?! What a trooper! I've never iced before for triggers but may do that this time with hopes it won't hurt as much. How are you feeling? My stinging went away so that's good. That ganirelix burns. Trigger shot and pio are the worst though for me. @yelllow22 how are you feeling today? Hope you're recovering well from your retrieval. @BingALing23 any pain today from doing retrieval yesterday? @foxy8609 hoping for some quick results for you.
Hope everyone else is doing great.

@Foxy8609 fx for two perfect little embryos! @lilsweetheart115 thank you for your words of encouragement. And ouch, I start ganirelix tonight. Can't wait for the burn...oh joy! Lol @oxinfree woohoo for the trigger! You'll be at your retrieval in no time. Haha, when I did my first trigger for my iui cycle, hubs had to do it for me as well in the arm. I was so scared he's just poke me and bruise. It also didn't help that he was making jokes that he couldn't wait to stick that needle into me, so I was running away from him and he was chasing me around the house with that needle. In the end, the trigger didn't even hurt. Hopefully yours wasn't painful either and you didn't feel a thing afterwards!

@Tulips29 - wohoo indeed. Omg, so funny about your first trigger. Ours wasn't quite that intense (though we live in a shoebox in Manhattan) but definitely a lot of tension and pre-shot back and forth. He accidentally drew a bit of blood pulling it out, but no bruise and only mild sensitivity so I count it as a success. He did good haha. My arm felt a bit heavy, like after you get a flu shot or whatever, but today its fine. Otherwise not so bad. I have really thin arms though so I was freaking out with that longer needle that it'd hit bone (which obviously it didn't... I was just being silly). Yay for you starting ganirelix tonight... progressing nicely! eeeeeeeee . It's a bit more stingy than the others, yes, but if it hurts too much try icing beforehand next time. I found it helpful.
@lilsweetheart115 - icing does really help (I sound like a broken record haha) so it wasn't so bad. Maybe it was slightly easier because DH was doing it, but I found ganirelix worse. Never done PIO but I keep hearing ladies say it hurts. You doing them this round also?
Everyone else!? How is everyone doing? Thinking of all your gorgeous eggies retrieved and stimming, and all that fun stuff. Look forward to updates from you all!!!
ps. @BingALing23 - glad you're doing well.. remind me are you doing a fresh or frozen transfer? Do you have a date?

@vssbrm that's just what I was thinking! Having a cycle buddy is awesome. They haven't given me a projected date for betas. The schedule just goes up to the FET date, April 27. But I'm sure if yours is May 9 mine would be close by. Did you have any side effects from the Lupron? I felt yucky all day with headache and nausea.
@Drove2u that's ok cause it'll fly by and this board is already set up for the April/May group too. That's what so cool is that the support never stops.
@BingALing23 Wow Tuesday is right around the corner! That is great. It sounds like things are on track. I'll pray it all goes smoothly.
@dragonfaerie Oooh! Exciting. What are your main FET dates?
@oxinfree That's so cute and sweet how your DH is taking his nursing duties so seriously. Mine is too. After the ER he kept asking me when it would be time to give me more meds for the FET. I told him I thought he was enjoying sticking needles in me a bit too much. LOL But I think he's just excited at how close we're getting and likes being a part of it. I think we've bonded through this experience and look forward to telling our babies about it one day.
@Foxy8609 Good luck on the pgd testing. Keep us updated.
AFM I have a question for this group. What's been your approach to including family and friends in this experience? Have you kept it just between you and your partner or to yourself if you're single? Or have you shared with family, friends, and coworkers? Or just with a few people or no one? We've shared no details with anyone in our lives. The most I've said is that we'd like to have babies God willing and to a couple people I've said we'd like to be pregnant before the end of the year if possible. But I've said nothing about the current IVF cycle. It's not out of shame but just to avoid having pressure come from people with questions and potentially seeing a pity face, which I despise. That's why I need this board so much so I can communicate about the process in an atmosphere of trust. What about all of you?

@zanster I was just very tired yesterday. Today I have a very bad headache. We have shared our IVF experience with anyone we have thought would be supportive through the process, a few of my very good g/f (who have been my rocks) both our parents, siblings, aunt, and cousins. We did not tell grandparents because I think it would be too disappointing for them if it does not work. We have specifically kept it from other people who we thought would bring negativity to the experience. I also resigned from my job (very high stress) and did tell my boss and mentor the reason as I very much respected them and wanted them to know why. For me it has been helpful, they are all so positive about it, I would not have made it this far with out all the support.

@zantster we told our parents and my husband had to tell his boss so he'd be ok with the days off he needs. He also told his best friend at work who told his wife who I'm friends with. I didn't want them knowing bc if it doesn't work out it is one more person to have to tell the bad news to. My mom knew the first ivf and two close friends I think. Second time both of my parents knew. And a few friends and my younger brother and his wife. Jeff's friend and boss also. And since opening up to another sister in law after the process of 2nd ivf when I was super emotional about it not working and her being a bit rude to me about not being all happy about her pregnancy... I know now it's a great idea not to tell her before or after. This is first time we told hubbys parents before the process bc we were getting his mom to fly out to help us out. Unfortunately, she has a torn muscle and probably won't be coming. Poor thing. They don't really understand how private we want to be about this which is super frustrating. It's annoying to get questions for updates and stuff especially when time for beta. I think it's great you're keeping it to yourselves. It's different for everyone though. I'd love to just keep between us but I am super close with my mom and tend to tell her everything. Hubby is military and we move a lot and live far from both families. even though mom and I are close she can still be clueless about my feelings at times. Only people who have been through infertility can really understand it seems like. If you need anything please let us know. I've followed these boards with every ivf but never posted on them. It's nice to be able to connect with people going through the same stuff. Sorry you've been feeling bad from the meds.

Starting two days after retrieval I think. I'm so ready for Monday to get here so I can see how things are going and know when retrieval is. Hoping for an amazing er for you tomorrow!! Hi ladies!!! thanks so much for all your support. I took a little break, and wow this board is so active, I spent about an hour trying to get back in track, I had to take notes lol! @vssbrm I am late but sorry about your loss. Hope you are feeling better, ice cream does the trick for me haha, hopefully 4/28 will be here soon! @BingALing23 Happy Birthday, hope you are surrounded by love today!!! I'm glad to hear things are going great, yay for the late bloomer, it's so exciting to be so close to transfer, keep us posted! @oxinfree Sending you tons of great wishes for your ER today with lots of eggs and a speedy recovery! @Tulips29 Did you have your us today? Hope you are ready to trigger. I also wanted to tell you that when I had my last us on Monday most of my eggs were still small, and by Thursday when I had ER they had grown a ton, so I think you'll do great, GL! @mummysmomma Are you transferring today?? FX for you! @thucks AF at the same time as stims sucked for me too, the us was not fun at all, hope you are doing better. My drug schedule was Menopur and Gonal F at night, then we introduced Cetrotide in the morning, and I did take antibiotics, Cipro 2x/day close to ER. @Foxy8609 Hopefully those test results for your 2 embabies will come back real soon and perfectly normal! and you were right about constipation... not fun
After ER I slept seriously the entire day and night, took tylenol 3 for the rest of the day since i had to work the next day and wouldn't be able to take anything other than regular Tylenol. Friday was ok, some cramps and had to move slowly, went back to sleep as soon as I got home, and have been drinking tons of gatorade. Yesterday I got the call from my Dr. and could not believe that all my eggs were mature (most of them were about 13mm and some 11 last time we checked) and 26 fertilized with ICSI. We are feeling so grateful! Waiting on a call on Thursday to see how many made it to day 5. Sorry for the long post!! xoxo

I just had my u/s and they saw lots of action on the right so looks like the follicles are growing. I took ganirelix for the first time last night. I was scared to inject it for some reason so my husband had to do it for me. I didn't feel a thing! Although afterwards I felt a bit of burning but nothing too bad. I'm waiting for the bloodwork results later today to know when I'll trigger. They think either Monday or Tuesday night.
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their weekend!

@lilsweetheart115 I totally understand. I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned how close you are to your mom. I lost my mom to brain cancer when I was 16 and me and my dad were emotionally distant from each other up until he passed last year. DH's family is in England so we don't have tons of interaction with them on a regular basis. I'm sure that all that combined probably is what makes it a bit easier for us to be super private about it. There's no real immediate family to share with. LOL
@yelllow22 Those are great ER numbers! Your body is rocking and rolling. It's nice when we can feel good about something going right in this process when our bodies have frustrated us for so darn long. Every little bit helps with confidence. It is definitely hard on the body to recover for a bit. It was for me as well. I was just happy that 37-year-old me had some decent eggs especially with my fibroid issues.
@Tulips29 It's so exciting when the follies are growing at a good pace. Good luck on the blood work. Every time I went in I kept asking if things were good on average. I just needed to know I wasn't falling behind in this long cycle.
@vssbrm You are so sweet! Thanks for offering to be there for me. Same here. Please lean on me as well. Giving support is just as important to me as receiving. In fact I think being there for others can help in its own way. Sometimes I have to take a step back to keep my mind right. But when I'm here I definitely don't want this to be a one-way street.
AFM I've got a couple more bcp to take before starting on the other FET meds. But first I've got the usual bw/us like @vssbrm my cycle buddy! Looking forward to checking in tomorrow and seeing how everyone else is doing as well. Enjoy your weekends!

@oxinfree@Tulips29@zantster I'm on BCPs until the 29th, start Lupron on the 16th. Estrace (oral) and Vivelle (patches) start the 26th. I'll have the Pregnyl (IM) that I take every couple of days starting 5/5, andPIO starts 5/6. I have a steroid that I will take the four days before the transfer, which is looking like May 11th, Beta will be 5/26. @zantster Last year when we were doing IUI, I told my boss before anybody because of the time I would need off unexpectedly. When we moved to IVF, we decided to tell everyone because we had so many people wanting us to have kids and we were tired of deflecting questions. We posted on Facebook and had an amazing response. It's been a real load off having people supporting us, praying for us, and just not asking every month "are you pregnant?" Most people don't seem to realize how long the process is though, so now that we've done the ER, a few people have asked again if we have an announcement or anything. It's like "no, dude, it's a bit longer yet, you'll know when we tell you, don't ask." Hehe.

@dragonfaerie Thanks for sharing your schedule. You know what I don't get about all this protocol stuff is I was only given one shot of Lupron with no others planned but others like yourself take it with other meds on a regular basis. I wonder why that is... But I will take the Estrace and Vivelle and PIO. I'm not sure if Pregnyl is part of it. I have to check my stash. I've been very creative with how I handle work time. So, for the big procedures like ER, FET, etc., I take the day off. But for the bw/us I've been able to shoot over to the RE, which is like a 4 min. drive from my job, get the usual inspection of my hoo ha and get back to work with not much interruption and count it as part of my lunch break. I'm on contract so I don't get sick leave. I'm trying to avoid as much time off as possible at this point. I like how you're giving people that old school post-job interview line like "don't call us, we'll call you" about where you are in the process. LOL And it's great that you've got so much support. My analytical, overthinking self is too sensitive to post about it on FB. Plus I think some haters who are ignorant wouldn't get it and/or would kind of like to know we need help. But that's awesome that your circle is so cool.

@zanster I too only had the one Lupron Depot shot and it was prior to getting AF this week. They explained to me why, but now I forget the detailed explanation. Something about how doings one shot at that timing mutes your hormones for the next cycle allowing them to be manipulated by the doc more easily. I could be totally wrong in remembering that though....

@yelllow22 glad you were able to get some good rest. Also, congrats on the amazing number fertilized! Hoping for a great update on Thursday for you. @tulips29 yay for growing follicles and ganirelix going well. That's awesome! I'm feeling fine. A bit anxious to see how things are going in there. The whole not having an appt Friday makes me slightly worried not knowing how things have been going since Wednesday. @zantster I'm so sorry about both of your parents. Not having anyone close by does make it easier to keep things private for sure. It must feel like transfer is so far away but I hope the time goes by quickly for you. @oxinfree I hope you're doing well and had a great er if had it already. If not, hope it goes well.

Just at home recovering from egg retrieval. Yesterday I came down with a bad cold, and then after a really horrible night sleep, felt even worse this morning. The show must go on.
The egg retrieval went fine, I was really sore when I woke up so they gave me extra pain killers. I'm now at home and recovering and still quite sore. Plus, tmi, a lot of trapped gas has been painful. If anyone else is experiencing, fetal position is excellent haha... sorry, but never know, someone else might experience it too...
Great news is 20 eggs!!! wohoo. I really wasn't sure how many we'd get, so I'm super thrilled. Looking forward to our fertilization report tomorrow. We're doing 10 via natural fertilization, and the other 10 - whichever are mature, will be done via ICSI. fx for good fert rate.
I'd love to read all your posts and comment/support on your individual updates, but I'm really not feeling great so going to veg out and nap. Just wanted to give you an update. Chat soon.

@oxinfree that's amazing!! Congrats on all of those eggs! Sorry about your cold! Hope you're able to get some rest and hope the pain goes away soon. Thanks for the update!
afm, I doubt I'll have as many eggs as y'all have had. I'd be shocked with my low egg count and how many I had at last ultrasound. I doubt all 11 even mature. I'll be happy to get anywhere near that 11 though. since mil can't come we need to board the dog while we go for er this week. Just don't know what day we head out of town til we get update tomorrow. We will go night before er and stay the night since it's 5 hours away. Getting antsy I must say. I'll be so glad to get to my appt in the morning and see what's going on. I feel like I'm in limbo waiting. Been trying to stay busy. Should maybe start packing tonight just so that's less to do later on. So happy everyone is progressing nicely!

Transfer done. Now the waiting!!! Laser acupuncture was really a flash light like thing that he out on my head, forearms and a few other spots. It was funny thought cause they ask you to drink 8-10 oz of water. I ended up drinking 16 cause I was thirsty. Mistake. I was so uncomfortable until the nice nurse let me let some out lol. Then I was good.

@oxinfree That's great! I can usually get in for my ultrasound/bw appts before work starts. My RE actually wants me to have two days of bed rest after my transfer (day of and day after.) I'm glad that my boss is awesome. But yes, I have to be firm but kind about making sure people don't keep asking. Hehe.

Re: March / April - IVF/FET
Update for me - we have 2 very good quality embryos!!! We are just waiting for the pgd testing to come back to let us know if they are normal.

@oxinfree woohoo for the trigger!

@tulips29 hope the ganirelix went ok and that you have an awesome appt in the morning.
@oxinfree thanks for the advice about icing it. Your trigger was in your arm? Interesting! Mine has always been hip/butt area like the progesterone shot. No fun. I'll be doing progesterone shots once a day for three days. Starting two days after retrieval I think. I'm so ready for Monday to get here so I can see how things are going and know when retrieval is. Hoping for an amazing er for you tomorrow!! You may not see this before you go in but we will all be thinking of you and hoping for great results.
@drove2u good luck with baseline and stims tomorrow. Hope you've recovered from last night.

@yelllow22 Those are great ER numbers! Your body is rocking and rolling.

If anyone else is experiencing, fetal position is excellent
Chat soon.

afm, I doubt I'll have as many eggs as y'all have had. I'd be shocked with my low egg count and how many I had at last ultrasound. I doubt all 11 even mature. I'll be happy to get anywhere near that 11 though.

@zantster I'm glad that your work is close enough you haven't had to take time away very often. I can usually get in for my ultrasound/bw appts before work starts. My RE actually wants me to have two days of bed rest after my transfer (day of and day after.) I'm glad that my boss is awesome.
