Yikes @crdo! Hope he feels better soon and his germs leave you alone!!
Ladies, we have been all up in the ER this week for a huge range of reasons. It feels like too many of my bumpies have been through the ringer. Hope for a quiet April for us ladies!!
Thanks! I've moved into the guest room and will stay there in my bubble until he's better.
Yes! Too many ER visits for TB. That ish needs to stop!
I've mentioned my SIL on here a few times who was diagnosed with breast cancer, went in to remission, relapsed a few months after her son was born and was told in July it had spread to her bones. Doctor's had given her about 3-5 years to live.
She just let us know that her most recent scans showed ZERO signs of disease anywhere in her entire body! Even her doctor's were shocked and they've officially dubbed her in remission for the second time. She has an 18 month old and an 8 year old and although she is far from out of the woods she no longer has a 5 year death sentence looming over watching her boys grow up. I am not a crier and definitely not a happy crier, but she got me this morning.

Wonderful news! Hopefully she will remain cancer free for the future. That would definitely make me cry too!!
Ok, I have a random that I need to share in my current euphoric state!
I have been on the GD diet (fill in GD with whatever expletive fits) since 19 <expletive> weeks. My endo said I can splurge and have cake at my baby shower. So, I talked my husband into ordering a fancy cake for approximately $1,000,000,000.00. I, of course, needs this to be the most delicious cake in all the land. So, I ask my local moms fb group who has the tastiest cake in all the land and everyone is like "THE SUPERMARKET IS DELICIOUS" and lost all credibility. But I got some good recommendations. I scheduled a tasting. YUP. A TASTING for my BABY SHOWER CAKE in the form of cupcakes. I picked them up today and just tried a piece of one. My mouth is in HEAVEN. I am so excited for the shower now because a whole big slice of that dream will be in my BELLY. The end.
@Lilwatz Glad you got to enjoy some cake! My endo also okays occasional splurges, and i think it makes the treat that much more satisfying! Enjoy the big slice at your shower!!
I'm judging the people who've voted in the "fake pregnancy announcements tacky thread" that its just a joke and to get over it. I'm not sure if I feel bad about judging them or not, and I really want to know who voted that way.

I think there are some people who can never think outside of their own personal experience. "Never bothered ME, can't be a big deal!" I hate it.

There's a few drive-by people who I can think of that would vote that way based on their limited posts....
I have been extremely fortunate in that I didn't have any particular issues conceiving but I know a few people who did struggle or experienced losses and can't imagine how I would feel if I went through that and then saw someone using pregnancy as a prank.
That being said, I found it un-funny before I knew about a few friend's fertility struggles and majorly side-eyed my MIL (yes my MIL) when she posted a fake pregnancy thing for April fools day a few years ago. At best it isn't funny, at worst its incredibly hurtful to those who are struggling, often silently, with loss or infertility. Empathy people, it isn't that difficult

*sorry, that kinda turned into a rant
This is my feeling too. I've been so lucky to not have problems, but know people who have.
Hooray for STILL being awake!!!! Its not so much that I can't get comfortable tonight, I just can't fall asleep These last 9ish weeks are going to be HELL if this continues. Anyone else in the same boat?
YES! The past 2 nights, I just cannot seem to stay asleep. For me, it's always that I'm waking up at around 2:30 for awhile, then again around 4am and I can't seem to fall asleep again after the 4am wakeup. And of course, my 3 year old hasn't napped these past 2 days.
@lilwatz I picked up my shower cake today from an amazing bakery and may have also picked up some petiite fours so I can eat cake before tomorrow yay for shower cakes!
Now I want cake...... Lol. We are getting the mini bundt-inis from Nothing Bundt Cakes for my shower. SUPER excited for the lemon ones with the raspberry filling!!

This is AMAZING news! I'm so happy for you and for her and for everyone who loves her. LOVE this kind of news!!!!
Ummmm did anyone else see the birth announcement on the March board that said she had 3 ultrasounds- was told she was having a girl the whole way through and ended up giving birth to a baby boy?! She had bought everything in pink and decorated the nursery pink and everything!
TNvols27 I did!!! It made me laugh. But only because I have seen this guy's penis on about 6 different u/s's and had an amnio - so I know that wouldn't happen to me.

that scares me.
It terrified me until I saw that her midwife said the tech had been 50/50 recently. It sounded more like a new tech who didn't know what on earth they were doing than anything else. Maybe if my little girl was a bit more prudish and didn't just splay her legs out so we had a textbook 3 lines picture I would be more worried, idk.
@sdLindenberg, I am so there on being so exhausted but unable to fall asleep.
@huskerfanz, glad that everything looked good this morning. Rest up and keep those babies cooking.
@ahernandez16, that's AMAZING news! Eat some tots to celebrate.
@lilwatz, that's awesome. It's nice that they gave you some cupcakes for a testing.
I tend to have lots of patience to allow my daughter to do things herself as she enters this new independent phase. But let me tell you, when she wants to peel her own hard boiled egg, I usually have to leave the room--it takes her like 5 minutes and she picks apart the egg trying to get the shell off--I just can't handle it.
Also, hubby ordered me a Qalo ring because my wedding rings don't fit anymore. I think I like it--they are kind of boring, so he bought me one with sparkles. It is really nice to be able to wear a ring again, my finger just feels weird without out. And, because it is silicone it will give a little as I swell more and continue to grow.
Whew ok I finally got caught up. Glad you're headed home for the weekend @Huskerfanz ! And amazing news about your SIL @ahernandez16 !
I don't know if I've ever actually seen someone post a fake pregnancy announcement on April Fool's, although I hardly follow anyone on Facebook because I get easily annoyed with everyone so I don't have a huge sample, haha. One of my friends did post a picture of herself heavily pregnant on April Fool's a few years ago and confused the hell out of me. Turned out she was legit 6 months pregnant and hadn't told anyone and didn't pay much attention to the date when she posted it!

Welp. This makes me nervous! Luckily I've got some additional ultrasounds coming up...best believe I'll be asking the tech for some evidence that he really is a he, lol!
When I was pregnant with my first I had 3 ultrasounds (well, 4 but the first one was too early to determine sex) and I noticed that techs tended to default to male pronouns and it always freaked me out because I had been told it was a girl. So every time I was like THIS IS A GIRL, RIGHT??? Not that there's anything wrong with baby boys but why they gotta be messing with my head?

I think you're less likely to be told it is a boy and end up with a girl than the other way around--it's just more obvious.
@DeePaddy24 exactly! If I do get another u/s for some reason I'm gonna be like "erm, could you take a look down there and confirm she's still a she?" Haha
I know a few people who were told one sex and it came out the other. Most of them found out late in pregnancy before baby came but 2 didn't know until baby came. I would be shocked and amazed. My daughter would be happy though since she really wanted a sister

@sdLindenberg- my allergies have been killing me, too. The congestion is awful. I emailed my doctor on Monday and she gave me a list of things to try. I can send them if you'd like.
Not to be a crazy oil lady but a blend of lemon, lavender and peppermint has really helped me with my allergies!

I said I hate when people try to sell me crap like essential oils etc, agreeing with those on the fffc thread. BUT!!!! The lavender essential oils have cleared my sons eczema on his face up like nothing else. And helped with his seasonal allergies. Lavender is one of the safe while pregnant ones too.
