I've noticed the stares this week... I guess it's the ever growing belly that's definitely a pregnant belly but maybe catches people off guard! At least there aren't any unwelcome touches!
Also... does anyone else stalk the current month board to read the birth announcements?? I can't help myself...
I think that when people are trying to name their baby, they shouldn't worry about whether the name will "age well". With all of the different names out there now days, grandmas aren't only going to be Mary, Jean, Bonnie, or whatever is common right now for grandma's. I can't see any of my kids's names as grandparents but someday they will be.

I was at Hobby Lobby over the weekend, and a guy turned around and did a very unflattering double-take of my bump as he was walking out. He walked into the glass panel right next to the automatic door. It was excellent!
@Lynnlove28 what the heck?! I hope they give you a refund.
I'm a consultant for a healthcare company and my doctors today have been eyeing my growing bump. They won't ask straight up but their eyes just fall on my belly. Oh well, guess it's time to tell them I'll be out late Summer for some time. It's funny when I go and meet OBGYN's -- they mistake me for a patient at first. It's now way too obvious but I don't know why I don't have the urge to tell them!
My boss today was like, "yeahhhh honestly I'm a guy and I can tell...it's definitely a baby bump. You should tell your clients."

I haven't but now that you mention it I'm going to look. Still need some name ideas..
@AliKay20 I was having that problem a while ago. I got a body pillow from target and it's made a world of difference. I may upgrade to a pregnancy pillow system soon but I went from thinking I was going to have to sleep in a recliner for 6 months to pretty comfy now at night. I also shifted the way I sleep on my side. I found a video on youtube (it's pitching an inflatable pillow but it was the way she demonstrated sleeping that helped me) that helped me figure out a more comfortable sleeping position. It's on the "sleeping positions" discussion. https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/comment/88603477/#Comment_88603477
I just found out the CW has their streaming service on the appleTV now and I can watch every episode of the OC! There goes any chance of productivity for the next couple of days.
@Hummingbird125 that would be so hard. Hopefully, your mom understands it is something that is best for your family.
We're planning on moving in the next 5 years, but only like 60 miles and we'll actually be moving closer to my parents and away from DHs mom. Even though we'll only be an extra half hour away from MIL we haven't told her were even thinking about it, because she would take it really personally. Really, we're just moving because my mom babysits all of the time for us. She makes the hour and a half trip every week or meets us halfway to pick DD up. When we need her she can easily drop whatever she's doing and come help. It's like pulling teeth for MIL to even come and visit DD. Plus pretty much all of the rest of my family live there. DHs job should be open in the new city by then and my friends all live there, including friends who are more like family and who we actually have designated to raise our kids if something were to happen to us and my parents. We feel it's important for our kids to see them on a more regular basis. Meanwhile, we still live where I went to college and all of our friends here have moved away. Basically, there's more drawing us to move than stay. I'm just dreading telling MIL.
My MIL deleted and blocked me on Facebook. I don't know whether to be pissed off or glad that I don't have to see all the stupid shit she shares anymore. But, really MIL, really? I feel like I'm in middle school.
@Lynnlove28 Whaaaaat?! That would make me downright stabby. What did DH say? That is so awkward.
I bought my first pair of maternity pants just now and I feel like my eyes have been opened. I don't see myself wearing anything else for the next 5 months.
We're doing a little home organization/nesting this weekend and we made a Target and Ikea run. We decided to buy our cat a little cat bed, because he tends to sleep in the same spot on the floor by our bed every night. DH was so excited to show the cat his new bed (yes, we are dorks with our cats) but the cat wants nothing to do with the bed! He has crawled into every plastic bag and cardboard box that is scattered around our apartment, but he acts like the cat bed is filled with lava or something.
Anyone have any tips to get him to try it out? We really do think he'll be comfortable once he gives it a try. We've tried putting some catnip in there, as well as putting one of DH's worn shirts in there (for the scent) but no luck. Last night he slept on the floor next to the new bed.
@Lynnlove28 that's crazy! Any specific reason?? I'm with you though, there would be part of me that was glad I no longer have to see my MIL's crazy and outlandish Facebook posts anymore.
Uggghhhh. I have my second stomach virus in two weeks. The first one landed me in the ER and I tested positive for influenza A. Plus, our resident teenager has some nasty coughing thing and doesn't seem to get that he needs to keep his distance and sanitize anything he even looks at. I am SO done with this!
@Hannah0726 I totally understand your feeling about maternity pants. I never wore them with my DD and bought some this pregnancy. I literally walked out of the fitting room told DH whoa... Those are life changing pants.
@Hannah0726 DH said he knows she's petty and immature but didn't realize she was on that level.
@Bookhousegirl I have no idea honestly. I shared a few picture quotes the past few days so maybe she thought one was about her? I mean if the shoe fits.
@skelly70 ugh! We had a stomach virus earlier this week, it was terrible. I hope you get over it and feel better soon!

I've been living in full panel maternity pants for a month already!
@AliKay20 I have never heard that phrase before but it might be my new favorite. Chuck it in the fk it bucket and move on. Can't wait to use that for the first time!
@Lynnlove28 and @Allisun85 Oh the in-laws. I block my posts on FB to my MIL's sister. The grammar and spelling on every.single.post was too much. And my SIL has seen our son about six times in almost two years. She never asks us (that would involve contacting her brother) about him and when we do see her, it's story after story about her best friend's kids and their lives. We don't know these people, at all. SIL has two (maybe 3?) cats and has been living with her parents for the last two years since she was laid off. I'm very allergic and my MIL doesn't clean very well, we are staying in a hotel next month when we go to visit. At least it sounds like your husbands' are on board with how you feel and agree! I can't imagine what it would be like if mine didn't feel the same! hang in there!
So I am switching to a new job next week and I was able to negotiate some paid maternity leave! Yay so happy!!!! I was getting nothing at my current job!

Reviving this post because; Darn bladder! Stop making me feel like I need to pee so oftern just to trick me and I barely need to actually pee. Grrr. It's not a uti since I just had a urine sample at the Drs.
23 weeks and I'm feeling super exhausted even after a full night of sleep (I count 7 hrs a success with only two potty breaks).
I barely made it through the day- after my PM mtg that ended around 3, I stuffed myself (late lunch) and haven't been able to move since! It's now 7 pm and DH is home. I'm not even hungry and I want to walk our dog, do our usual night routine, ya know, talk about our day or whatever while our fur baby sniffs around the neighborhood (he's on rat patrol).
I'm in this awkward sleepy yet can't go to sleep right now phase. I know I'll get fungry and wake DH up in the middle of the night. I'm on Pinterest pinning things eyes half closed. I need to wake uppp!! Ahhhh. I'm more exhausted than first trimester. Miss my energy...
My boss just asked me to send her a statement of my goals and projections for 2016. She usually wants this around the new year but she didn't do it this year, and apparently she is just getting around to it. I have about 5 months left till my due date and plan to quit, rather than take maternity leave (I will look for something better when LO is 9 months to a year). I'm guessing it would be inappropriate to say "my goal for the rest of the year is to do a decent, respectable job, not screw anything up due to distraction/pregnancy brain, help you hire and train my replacement, and skate on out of here in August!"
Ugh... my car got rear ended while I was stopped at a red light yesterday. I am beginning to think I'm cursed - this is like the 4th time in 5 years. This was probably the worst. My bumper is toast and the bottom of my tailgate (I drive an Escape) is bent inward. I felt fine afterward, but DH freaked out and made me call my OB's office. They made me go to triage and get checked out. The baby looks fine. Now I have to go through the hassle of reporting the medical part to my (car) insurance and getting that reimbursed from the other driver's insurance. Plus, even though this was not my fault, the accidents are starting to add up. Hello increased insurance premium.
Last night at 19 weeks H felt the baby move!!! That seems so early right? I just started feeling the baby at 17W6d.
We were laying in bed and I was feeling the baby moving and noticing it was getting stronger. I felt a few "strong kicks" (compared to the flutters recently) and put my hand on my stomach to see if I felt it from the outside. And I thought I could! So I told H to try and feel... he was hesitant (he had already expressed last week how the idea kind of freaked him out). It took a bit and then there was some movement, I asked if he felt it and he said it felt like a muscle twitch.
He still seemed a little freaked out lol, but I told him to just picture our little baby's legs kicking, and he smiled so I think that helped. Wow I am still so amazed by this! Can't wait for my mom and sister to feel!

@Bubblegum5586 This happened to me today!!! I've been feeling movement the past week (18 weeks) and this morning I was by myself laying flat and I was feeling movement and I put my hand on my lower belly and felt one "kick" on my hand! I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow. I was just thinking that DH might be able to feel kicks in the next week or two. So amazing!
We are transitioning DD out of her crib and into a big girl bed. She's 18 months and we want to do it before LO arrives so she's already adjusted to sleeping in a bed. We are considering moving her directly to a twin and bypassing the toddler bed. We would obviously buy the removable rails for either side of the bed. Anyone have any advice on this?

That's what we did with DS. We got a bunk bed that's low to the ground and skipped the rails all together. We started before Christmas. So far, no issues!
@Lynnlove28 that is our plan as well. We're using the crib for the baby so we're just going to get DS1 a twin size bed. We're planning on making the transition in a month or so, so let me know how it goes for you!
Re: Randoms 3/21-3/27
My DH also spent the night in the guest room, he was kicking AND snoring in his sleep. The bed was *vibrating* from "kick kick kick"
I must finally be looking pregnant rather than just chubby. I call that a win. lol

And @Lynnlove28 your MIL is not the only one that can prove to be childish. I just chucked it in the fk it bucket and moved on!

@Snaps816 I have been asked to do something similar, and I'm resisting the urge to write the same thing. Good luck faking it
