Re: FFFC (4/1)

  • I don't understand the love for green smoothies and drinks. they're disgusting. I need to chew my meals.

  • After reading all the posts about subs from Firehouse and Jimmy Johns and craving one for weeks, I treated myself to lunch at Which Wich while I was out running errands yesterday. I was full after eating half the sub. And then I ate the other half. And my whole bag of chips. I regret nothing.

  • Today is my husband’s last day at his job, he starts a new job on Monday. While I am genuinely happy for him, I can’t help but be jealous. I have been job hunting for months because I am absolutely miserable at my current company. He had two offers to choose from in a single week! He is our primary income so I really am thrilled for him but my cranky, pregnant self is having green-monster moment today.

    @MRSCORKER
I just spotted one of those lovely pregnancy jokes on my FB page... Horrible.
    I hate April Fools Day.

  • I don't particularly like April Fools pranks either... but I must say, the videos of people hiding in a closet, or behind the stairwell, or behind a door, and jumping out to scare someone are freaking hilarious to me. Double points if it scares the person so badly that they hit the scare-er in the face. Ah! So funny!! (As long as no one got hurt badly! Please don't jump out and scare your 90 year old grandma!)

My confession: Stopped at Walmart on the way to work to buy a huge box of chocolate donuts and some Funyuns. Oh, and a Coke and a KitKat. Baby is going to be hopped up on sugar all day today.

  • @MRSCORKER @mrskratt I don't know why people think those FB jokes are funny. Setting aside the potential for hurt feelings, they just aren't good jokes. It's not 2007. Please find a different unfunny joke to run into the ground, people. Make an effort.

Or you know, don't do April Fool's in the first place, but either way.

  • Also, the love-tits look HUGE to me. I wonder if that is a hamster falling off the wheel in bump IT?

  • @MRSCORKER  > This just popped up in my FB news feed - John Oliver on April Fools Day https://youtu.be/kXYXuXX48m8

  • @bamacoop I will admit to laughing at the vidoes where people get scared and punch the scarer in the face. lol. That seems a little more harmless to me than these elaborate april fools pranks. You know, there is actually a market out there for positive pregnancy tests. Like, pregnant women actually sell them online because non-pregnant women want to play pranks on people. That is so crazy to me.

  • @mrscorker What?! I did not know that, about selling positive pregnancy tests! That's insane!

    Pregnancy Ticker

  • My boss always speaks to me in the most condescending tone, makes me want to slap her, especially now that the pregnancy rage is real. "You may want to read up on that procedure, then let me know what you learned." Are you kidding me?! Ugh just irks the crap out of me.
  • I must admit that I love pranking my husband. He's the youngest of 8 kids so I think his siblings really did a number on him. He's super jumpy and I love hiding behind doors and freaking him out. It's really awful, but I laugh so hard every time.

My confession: I'm super uptight with my kid. It took two years for my glorious BFP and I'm basically obsessed with her. I think I'm a type-A personality anyway so I have major control issues and I always watch my ILs carefully because they're very relaxed with the kids/grandkids on their side. I went to lunch with my DH's niece (who is 28 with two kids of her own) and she offered to hold DD while I ordered. I came back and she definitely was letting my 15 month old daughter sip her Mountain Dew. I was livid.

  • I love pranking. Hell, I love jumping out and scaring people, and I'm even guilty of doing that to my children. But I don't save it up for one day a year, and there are lines I WILL NOT CROSS. Manipulating emotions in ANY way is NEVER funny. Be that with 'pregnancy jokes', or 'breakup jokes', things with heavy emotional connotations, just no. Today just seems like one day where people feel like it's okay to throw empathy and morality out the window for "humor" and I just can't get down with that.
I realize I've just ranted so far and confessed nothing, so: Yesterday I decided to ditch class to hang out with my twin sister and let FI think I was at school.
  • Sometimes I can tell hours in advance that I'm going to throw up.  My confession is that usually I'll eat anyways because being extremely hungry and throwing up bile is a worse sensation than throwing up a full stomach.

  • @krzyriver I thought that was really sweet, too! I'm not gonna lie though, I'm super sensitive to smells right now and I did get slightly squeamish thinking of sitting next to my DH while he pooped. But I still think that was a very nice moment for the two of you!

  • @PrimRoseMama We're not squeamish either and sometimes it's the only quality time we have together. So we've embraced it. Lol

@rozANDbenSINCE2001 I'm really sensitive too. I bought him that Poo Pourri stuff cause I couldn't even go in the bathroom after he left. It's awesome.

  • @CopperBoom86 The gif siggy was going to be mine too! The movement actually makes me kinda nauseous. I try to just scroll quickly ;)

I'm with all of you on the insensitive pregnancy posts today. I have a friend who just lost her third, and I hope she's okay today. i just don't see a need for potentially hurting someone's feelings for a laugh.
  • Yeah so TMZ reported that Gwen Stefani posted on Instagram that she's pregnant with a girl. They said they have not heard whether it was a prank or not. Ugh...

  • I can't handle April Fool's Day today either.

    Also **TW**LOSS**MENTIONED**

Just saw this post-about-a-post on the TTGP board and just about had a break down, I can't imagine how hard these "jokes" have got to be hitting these ladies and I'm heart sick for them today especially...

I deleted my FB account and haven't posted on IG in months. Yet and still it infuriates me to see all the pregnancy jokes. I'm seriously considering posting this on my IG for all of my O16 moms who have lost an angel or who {like me} had to have IF tx to conceive.

  • @PeggyOlsonFTW my confession is that I AM that mom who has like 17 different types of baby carriers. I got really into wearing with DD and it really does become a weird hobby/obsession shockingly quickly. I still have most of my carriers lovingly displayed in my foyer and bedroom and I can't wait to wrap/wear a new squish.

I also vaccinate my child on time and while there's a small minority of the babywearing community that's extra-crunchy, most wearers don't fall into the non-vax camp.

  • @PeggyOlsonFTW I was asked to join an FB group by a grade school friend (ironically named Peggy) after she saw I had a baby. I was so out of place because they were super crunchy and I felt super judged! I have a boba and a Lillebaby and I got majorly Tula peer pressured. And I kept getting tagged in articles like anti-vaxxing and making my own breastmilk cheese so after a few weeks, I was out.

  • @emmaaa I will tell her off on the internet if she is joking. I already think she's horrible.

I hope this doesn't sounds bad but I have no desire to be a SAHM (and I promise I don't judge anyone who chooses or wants to, just not for me). I value my career and love what I do and don't want to give that up. I told someone that and she told me that I was so selfish to put what I want ahead of the need of the baby. Excuse me? A baby doesn't necessarily NEED a SAHP.
I agree with you. I am a SAHM and I don't feel its a requirement for every family. It was a big deal for me personally, but I don't expect others to feel the same way. Each family works and is happy moving at its own pace with it is own rules. One size fits all is definitely not best for everyone.

You have the incredibly traditional folks that feel that a SAHP is a necessity though. The odds of changing their minds or even arguing with them is incredibly difficult. I hate it that this person passed judgment on you because you have different priorities and desires. There are all kinds of great moms out there and they are not all SAHM.

I ate a turkey and ham sandwich every day for the past week. And to be honest, I forgot about the whole "lunch meat is a no-no." But still, no regrets.
Also, I had the best SUSHI of my life in Las Vegas this past week. It's all I can think about.
I may or may not try to find the best sushi place in Michigan this weekend.
I had sushi last night and it was FANTASTIC! Like seriously maybe the best stuff I've ever had.  I just stuck to vegetarian kinds.

Thank you. I didn't even have make the effort to argue and told them that we would just have to agree to disagree on that one.
