WAYDTGKU: Just waiting for AF to leave.

R/R/CS: The espresso machine at my favorite coffee place broke and will be out for a few days.  So I have to go for plan B which is ok, but not my favorite.  First world problems, right?

GTKY: How did you and SO/DH meet?!
We met in college and I was in a "I hate boys" mood after a bad break up.  I was running late to the first day of my Political Science class and literally the ONLY seat left was in the front row next to him.  We passed notes and he finally asked for my number.  (Little did I know he asked for two other girls' numbers the same day!)  He didn't call me for a week, so I changed my number (I needed a local number anyway) and made him ask for it again.  Still can't explain why I gave him my number...twice!  I thought he was a stuck up jock who just liked to party.  Our first date wasn't even really a date.  He text me to see if I wanted to eat on campus and I was still in class.  I told him I would meet him by the library after class.  He ate without me!  I made him go with me to get food and wait for me to eat.  I still didn't like him.  We hung out a lot after that and talked every day.  I thought it was just going to be a fling/friends with benefits situation, but I was wrong.  It must have been meant to be because three months later I moved to his hometown with him and six months after that we were married on July 21, 2007.  And guess what...I still don't like him.  (Ok...maybe I do a little...)

R/R/CS: still waiting for O, no positive OPKS yet. This is the latest O date I will have had, maybe my cycles are lengthening? Worth hoping anyway. This morning was the second day in a row I forgot to temp and ovulation could be any time so my chart is going to be jacked up. Maybe I'll just give up temping for a while.

GTKY: How did you and SO/DH meet?! We met at work. We were both brand new and all the new people kinda formed a little clique. I thought he was so funny. Funny though because most of his jokes that impressed me then just annoy me now. Haha

edited to try to format the mess a little better :)

WAYDTGKU: Temping and trying out OPK's this cycle. We're still not super stressed about it or anything because we're so young, but I still like to optimize chances and explore new methods to get KU.

R/R/CS: Not much going on yet, FW probably starts next Monday. I ended up paying for the 90 day FF VIP because I ended up not liking the free version.

GTKY: How did you and SO/DH meet?!

This one is a really cute story actually. So DH and I went to the same high school but never crossed paths until Spirit Week. It was "Character Day" where you dress up as your favorite cartoon character. I chose Belldandy from Ah! my Goddess.

Looking back at my costume on the right, it wasn't a great attempt lol. But as I was walking across the quad, I heard a bunch of male voices yelling at me that they loved my costume. I yelled back "Thanks weirdos!" haha.

And that was the end of it until about a month later when I went to a convention with my friends. It turns our that my now DH was then a friend of a bunch of my friends. My BFs brought back in a bunch of guy friends to our room (we were only 16 and our moms were all there). Lo and behold, here was the group of guys that had hollered at me at school. We all got to talking in our large group and eventually everyone left to go to the masquerade but me and future DH, he was waiting outside after taking a nap while I changed into my dress.

Well, I forgot my key card in the room as I left, and he left his shoes in the room. I locked his shoes in my hotel room! I stayed with him for the rest of the night and we talked until our friends came back, and then less than a week later we were "officially dating". So technically, we're high school sweethearts. And that's how we've been together for almost 7 years now.

  • @BerkeBaby DH and I met on match, too, with kind of a similar story. He claims that he was getting ready to cancel his subscription because he wasn't meeting anyone worthwhile, and he decided to message me and if I didn't answer, he was done, haha. Luckily he sent me what he calls a "killer first message" so I responded and the rest is history.

Anyway, yes, the Clomid worked for me last month as far as producing at least one good follicle. But I was in for an u/s on CD14 last cycle and had a 20mm follicle and a couple of smaller ones that might have caught up, and the RE said it looked like I would O in 1-2 days. Well, 6 days later, I finally did. I didn't have any more u/s during that time, so I have no idea what happened with that big follie, if it got too big or if it stopped growing and just took a while to O or what. (I probably should have called in that time to get back in for another look, but I didn't because I just kept thinking I would O soon.) So she said adding the trigger will just be one more thing to tweak, it will help with timing and give the eggs one final boost as far as maturity before forcing them to O. So to answer your question, I don't HAVE to trigger, I actually was originally planning to wait to add the trigger until we move to IUI, but I decided it's worth a try now if it has a chance of helping.

  • **TMI** Quick update!

Thanks for all the Fx that I stop bleeding soon. I was getting nervous that I was passing clots, so I called the doctor's office and they prescribed me an antibiotic.  I'm not sure how that will help the amount of flow, but they told me it's to prevent infection. Then the nurse goes, It's also safe in case you get pregnant". I realize there is a (not yet proven) chance of increased fertility after an hsg, but I had to laugh because not getting KU was the whole reason I had to hsg in the first place!

Also, I LOVE reading your stories about how you met SO/DH! Their awesome! It's also awesome other's have met their DH's on POF/other online dating sites! I also stalked the TWW, and same for over there!

@BerkeBaby Yeah, I'm thinking that's what's going to happen with me too. Normal blood work/glucose test, clear tubes, we'll see about the US, but I think I do have PCOS just based off of the visual symptoms. Though I don't have acne. Hopefully I have a mild form, if there is such a thing!

  • @mrsdaddario - I've been told that PCOS is a spectrum. You can fall on any part of the spectrum and have completely different symptoms from someone else. Some people have more severe symptoms than others, but they all fall under the blanket of the diagnosis. FX for you this cycle and that the bleeding goes away soon!
  • I will catch up later when I get the chance to, but this is on my mind and so I just wanted y'all opinion. I tried to use the search feature but either I suck at it or there's nothing recent that answered anything to me.

Anyways, I have been spotting for 4 days now and am currently on CD 26 since AF last started. It just occurred to me yesterday that maybe I just had an anovulatary cycle and may be experiencing a withdrawal bleed? Or could I just be randomly spotting in the middle of the cycle for who know whatever reason? I'm still getting to know my body without birth control since I was on the pills for so long before DD then the IUD after until last fall. I would greatly appreciate any insight, so I can decide whether to continue my long cycle or start again and say CD4. Thanks. =)

@sldp123 Sorry AF is still sticking around. Like you said, with all the extra monitoring/meds you probably don't need to temp. But if it makes you feel more comfortable- stick with it.

@mrsdaddario Glad your bloodwork came back normal. Although it sounds like it's only one piece of the puzzle. My hormones are "normal" as well and yet they are not "cooperating" at all as far as cycling goes. I guess you will know more after your ultrasound and then the Dr can put everything together.

@l9i Hope work calms down for you.

@Sparty18 LOL! Glad your pep talk is working!

@Kellybean1988 Thanks for filling us in about your appointment. Sounds like a very productive day and glad your Dr is so supportive!

@Houseofsetters Glad you got your appointment booked!

@berkebaby Enjoy your trip next week. Fx you don't miss too much of your FW.

    WAYDTGKU: PNV, stiiiiiiiill waiting

R/R/CS: I've been trying to stay away from Dr Google regarding long cycles and also PCOS because I don't think I'm ready to go there yet. However I got sucked in a bit today and nothing I read was really positive. I did read some articles on ways to get your period back/"recovering" from birth control so may be adding/changing a few things I can do on my own. Not sure they will help at all but if I can cycle again before 6 months without waiting for help that would be a GOOD thing!

GTKY: How did you and SO/DH meet?! I guess the condensed version is we met through a mutual friend. I was out getting coffee with said friend, and he had stopped in to grab a coffee on his way to work. I guess he had seen her and I there, and texted her after that he thought her friend was cute. We ended up stopping in at his work the next day and hit it off. Eventually found out we went to the same highschool, but missed each other by a year and that I went to a party thrown by his best friend's little sister (which he and his friend had to break up before the cops came). Not sure we would have hit it off as well if we had met then!

Love all the GTKY answers today. I really don't think there is a "bad" way to meet your SO/DH. However quirky, it's always going to be a part of your story and got you to where you are today!

@BerkeBaby I teach primarily freshman. I teach Honors Geometry, and Algebra 1. The grading in Algebra 1 is minimal. A project here and there, quizzes and tests, entrance and exit tickets, etc. I spot check their homework everyday. In honors geometry I collect and grade every homework assignment through quarter 2 because the homework is so important in that class in terms of synthesizing the information. In quarter three I collect HW weekly and check two problems from each assignment. And then finally in quarter 4 I stop collecting it all together but I give daily homework quizzes. Plus the honors kids do more projects and assignments than the non honors group. Today it's just quizzes I'm grading so unfortunately I have no choice but to grade those. Luckily Quarter 4 is right around the corner so I'm almost done grading homework! I like the keeping them on their toes aspect though. That's what I do with my algebra 1 kids! What grade(s) / subject do you teach?

@aliciabehn - Holy cow! That sounds like so much work! I teach 9-12 English as Second Language. I mostly do spot checks, but I also do a lot of projects and in-class assignments. The work is nonstop, and as I get to the end of the semester, their essays and assignments get longer and more detailed. My seniors will have a massive end-of-the-year research project that is required by the district, so between reading To Kill a Mockingbird and completing the written test and essay for that, they will also have the big research project to do for the district. They will hate me by the end of the year, but I feel they will all be ready for the expectations in their college classes next year. They hate my class and my expectations now, but I've had a few students come back to tell me that college was easier than they expected after 4th quarter with me. Lol! I usually take that as a compliment. :)

  • @aammyy33 Yeah I'm really just waiting to hear what my OB has to say about the blood work because I interpreted the results myself. I truly do believe I have it, but to what degree I'm not sure. At the end of the day I just want to get everything regulated so I can start ovulating. As I'm sure you feel the same! As far as the PCOS thing for you, did your doctor hint around to it at all? Or did he/she just say if you make it until 6 months with no period, then we'll look more into it? I'm really keeping my fx you get AF soon and on your own. Did you have a withdrawal bleed after stopping BCP? Have you bled at all since stopping? You don't have to answer if that's TMI!

@ariver2011 Myspace OMG. Blast from the past!
  • @BerkeBaby That's awesome! That honestly is the best part about teaching, when you know you've genuinely helped them become better students and people, even if they don't appreciate it in the moment. I feel similarly because my honors class is a culture shock to the students coming from the middle school. They hate me for a while because of the work load, but by the end of the year they have learned to manage their time so well and more importantly how to study. Also it sounds like our rolls are reversed, my end of the year grading is less and yours is more!

(Not that I don't like hanging out with you ladies.) As for a rant, I am really frustrated with my students. Spring Break was soooo early this year (the week before Easter), and its like they all think summer is around the corner. Um, no. Our last day of school is THE LAST WEEK OF JUNE. Reel it in, people.

GTKY: How did you and SO/DH meet?! Nothing crazy--we went to undergrad together. We were both history majors. We started seeing each other during the second semester of senior year! (Crazy considering that we only had a few more months living int he same town, but it clearly worked out.)

  • @mrsdaddario - LOL, your husband sounds like mine. But just look at how many people we know on TB (and IRL) who met their partners online? It is no longer a weird thing for socially awkward people.

@furbabymom2008 - I'm not sure why I didn't notice this before, but we are totally twinsies in our cycles. (I really am 8 cycles TTC, but decided not to count the first one for TB purposes because it was annovulatory and super long.)

@juliebeannn At least you can do the Creep ;-)

@Dilynne - if I were to guess, I would think that it is determining fertile or not fertile based on your CM. Honestly I use OPKs to help predict ovulation (they aren't 100% guaranteed to be accurate because you can get a positive and then not ovulate, but I like to have some idea when ovulation could happen). The real benefit I think to ff is not so much predicting fertile days as it is detecting when ovulation happened after the fact. Also if you enter CM data every day of your cycle you will be able to start to see patterns of what your body does every month. Unlike @nwegman7878 I don't like to track my CP because I feel like ti changes too dramatically even within a given day. Like I can check, pee, and then check again and it seems in a totally different position. And FF advanced settings s
