We had ours yesterday and baby was very active! Had to turn quite a few times to get all the pics needed. I was also very surprised to see boy parts! I thought for sure since the day I found out I was pregnant that it was a girl. Still getting used to the idea of another boy, mostly because I spent so long thinking it was a girl I could name after my grandmother I lost recently. And although I know the scan is probably correct, (such big boy parts!)I can't help but wonder that it could have been wrong. Oh well, either way I'm just praying the results next week are that it's a healthy baby
I go on the 23 which will be my half baked point. We are taking our 5 year old son with us so he can see "his baby". We are all excited but still staying team green.
I had my scan on Friday and it went well; baby is completely normal and measuring 3 days ahead. The only thing that I was bummed about was that I found out I have an anterior placenta. I've been feeling plenty of movement, but only really low, so finding out that I should be feeling a lot more up higher but can't because of that was kind of disappointing. I didn't have anterior placenta the first pregnancy but it has been so long, I can't remember how much movement I was feeling at this point. Oh well. Baby is healthy and growing right on schedule; they said his legs are super long though so he might end up being tall like his daddy!

Our anatomy scan was this morning. Confirmed that it's a boy!! Growth is all normal and on track. The only thing was that they saw a small calcification on his liver. The perinatologist said it was a "normal anomaly," but still not something you want to hear. Of course Dr. Google says he's dying or has serious chromosomal abnormalities, but the Dr assured me that it was totally fine and normal, they see in it 10-15% of fetuses. That said, we have to go back in 4 weeks for another growth scan to check on it and everything else and make sure he's continuing to develop properly. We also go back in 2 weeks for our fetal echo, which we had to do with DD, as well, since they're IVF babies - it's standard protocol, and she said they'd take a look at the liver spot then, too. just as one more check. So I'm trying to stay calm and not freak, but you want your baby to be perfect so it's tough.
Hang in there @SkiChic626 its possible it was just a spot on the ultrasound. I know its hard though you want them to say everything is perfect and just walk out the door.
Thanks @Katm89I'm sure it'll be fine, the Dr really didn't seem concerned about it, it was more of a "we saw something kinda sorta maybe so we're obligated to tell you and have you follow up" type of a conversation. A similar thing happened with DD, they saw one of her heart valves wasn't developed all the way and had 2-way blood flow, but said it could just be normal for this point in gestation, so we went back 4 weeks later and they said yeah, she just needed a little more time to develop and now it's totally fine and normal. It felt like a very similar conversation.
We had our anatomy scan this am and it went great. My husband was allowed to come right back with me (same as with dd 2 years ago) she explained everything she was looking at and for, gave us many many cute adorable pictures and ended by saying DR has the final say but she thought things looked well! we remained team green even though the urge to find out was there. Baby was measuring right on track and was super active
Had mine last Friday, They didn't say anything was wrong so waiting on the report from the midwife. Baby was measuring 1 day behind but that is ok. I need to go back to get more measurements done baby wouldn't show her face. Found out it is a she!, well they said 90% she couldn't get a clear clear look. Can't wait to see baby again soon
Had mine today and all looked good! Confirmed that we're having a little boy and that he looks totally healthy. He had his hand over his face, so I have to go back to try to get a profile shot but it's one more time I get to see him so I'm ok with that I found out I have an anterior placenta but the doctor said it won't make much of a difference now that I'm almost 20 weeks because the baby is strong enough to be felt.
Ours was just OK. We are going to a birthing center and they refer out to an OB practice for routine US. Our birthing center always takes a good amount of time with us and we never feel rushed. The US tech was nice enough, but everything felt VERY rushed. Our a/s was our first time seeing the baby and we were in and out in MAYBE 20 minutes. Definitely not what I imagined, but in the end, baby is healthy and that's what matters.
@MamaKSquared 20 minutes, really?? That's insane! I'm glad baby is healthy though - at least there's that. I go to a midwife so I had to go to the hospital for mine and was super nervous because you just never know what you're going to get.

Yes, we were both very surprised! I just expected so much more. At least a little bit of - awww, look at your baby move! Nope. It was very much a checklist with some very brief explanations. I feel like I leave more informed from our appointments with the midwife at the birthing center and we don't even see the baby then!
Mine was this morning. It went quick too, only about 15 min., but baby girl was very active and cooperated for the ultrasound tech. I feel relieved knowing she's healthy and that her growth is on track. I found out I have an anterior placenta, which explains not feeling much movement in my belly region. But she's breech, so I've been feeling kicks very low in my pelvis region. She's a little gymnast too and kept putting her leg up over her head and grabbing it with her hand. ☺️
@jmknoxThis is the policy for all our US clinics here. they do not let anyone else in the room until they are done they the person can come in and they show us the baby. Even me I can't even see the screen until the tech is done what they need to do. I have been to many clinics here and they all have the same policy, I think it is so the techs can get everything they need before any questions are asked.
This seems so insane to me. Have they really had that many problems with spouses distracting the techs?
Hi all - first post on here! We had our anatomy scan yesterday. I was a little concerned that it was too soon - as I am 18w4d. I had a MC back in September so I was definitely nervous about the scan. I was not expecting to have a transvaginal scan at first - they had to check my cervix to make sure it was closed. I was so relieved to see 2 arms, 2 legs, hands, feet - it was pretty awesome. However, our little boy wasn't as cooperative as we hoped and they couldn't get a good view of the 4 chambers of his heart, nor could they get a good view of his lips and ears. They scheduled me to come back in 4 weeks for another scan. I don't mind at all, because I'll get to see my boy every 2 weeks for the next 2 months with my OB appts. in between. We got a really cool view of his legs and another to show he certainly is a boy (husband was proud of that one).
Just had mine done yesterday morning and brought our 11-year-old with us. I told him to sit quietly until it was done and the tech spent about 45 minutes getting everything she needed. After I thought she was done she turned to our son and asked him what he wanted to see, she then took her time showing him all the babies limbs and explaining different things to him. She made us a CD of the pictures and printed some off for him to take to school. I got am email in the afternoon saying that they got all the images needed and everything looks great.
@kristynmac That was really cool of them to include your son like that! I really wanted to bring my daughter but she was diagnosed with strep the day before so I had to leave her with grandpa so she wouldn't infect anyone at the hospital.

So I had mine done this past Monday and we were told were having another boy! But afterwards they told us they flagged him for trisomy 18 because of something called choriod plexus cysts. So I had the Harmony test done now we're waiting on results.they said they saw no other indications of him having it but they still had to tell us. I just hate how they scare you with things like that. I'm just nervous because my first was born with spina bifida so it makes us worry. Has anyone else had abnormal ultrasounds?
@scm1223 There is a thread started on the top of page two with the title Choroid Plexus Cyst, you might want to check it out. I'm not familiar with it, but sending you positive thoughts!
Had our anatomy scan today and everything looked good! It was a big relief after having a low Papp-A score that meant baby was at a higher risk for downs early on. The Harmony test reduced the risk to almost nothing, but was happy to see baby healthy today! We are not finding out the sex and our u/s tech was great at asking about that up front and explaining how she would refer to him/her as "baby" throughout and would let us know when she looked at the genital area. So, still going to be surprised! I go to a midwife practice and because of the elevated risk from the low Papp-A, we are seeing a MFM and she was great. Very reassuring today. We go back in 8 weeks to make sure baby is measuring appropriately but was at 12 oz today at exactly 20 weeks so looks good so far!

So I just got finished with the same thing. Mine was completely sure that my guy had trisomy 13 and 18. It was first detected in an ultrasound, then a blood test. I opted for the amnioscintes, that came back normal, then he sent it out for more intricate testing, that came back normal, then we had the level 2 ultrasound last week, and the specialist said it must've resolved itself. There were no signs of anything wrong. So u never know and u can never tell 100%. I will keep your little one in my prayers.
We just had ours this morning. I was super nervous bc they do it right in my doctors office and their machines are ancient. But the tech was super informative and walked us through all of her measurements and we found out we are having a baby boy! We are both over the moon!

Had mine this morning. Everything looks great! Baby was moving a lot but the tech got everything she needed. The baby was even waving at one point (I wish I had video of that!!). I have an anterior placenta which explains why I don't feel as much movement. This kid moved so much that maybe it's a good thing I can't feel it all!
We had our scan this morning. I love our tech, she is always so professional but dry and sarcastic at the same time. We got several videos and pics on a usb to take home. Baby is doing great, has 4 chambers of the heart, 2 kidneys, normal head size, 10 fingers and 10 toes and we are still heavily team green!!!
We had our scan this morning as well. Everything went well and we were in and out in 30 minutes. Colden is measuring two weeks ahead and they are estimating him to be about 15 ounces at 20w4d so we'll see how that goes.
We had our scan this morning. Baby was completely uncooperative, but very active. Did at least two or three full rotations during the scan, but kept his/her legs crossed the whole time, preventing the tech from getting the money shot. We did see some nice profile pictures, a good picture of the spine, fingers, toes etc. so that was a big relief!
Thankfully, the tech had an opening at noon, so I came back and she was able to get one picture. Unfortunately, the policy here is that the radiologist reviews the results and sends them to the midwife in a few days, so we still don't know what we are having. Apparently they will email me in 2-3 business days. That feels so far away, even though I know it isn't!!
We had our scan today as well!! Baby measuring 1 day ahead, but kept my due date the same. Baby was kicking and moving around. We found out we are having a baby BOY!! DH literally jumped out of his seat and did a little dance. Our US tech was amazing. She made me feel very comfortable since I was a nervous wreck.

I had my scan yesterday. It was quick, like under 30 mins. The tech asked us right away if we wanted to know the sex. She said she was going to being doing her measurement and then show us the screen. That was slightly torturous. But right away she got the inbetween the legs shot and flipped the screen. DH had no idea what he was even looking at so that was funny. So I got to point to the screen and say- that's the legs and that's something in between. Yay, it's a BOY! Baby wasn't super cooperative. We have to go back in 2 weeks for another u/s of the heart-"limited outflow tracks". Our DD (nearly 5) was there and she was hilarious. She was really hoping for a sister and shocked to hear it's a boy!
and I'm crying again. Because it's getting real! Ah, a boy? Omg!! Yay!!
We had our Anatomy scan yesterday, and it was a different tech than we had last time. I was not impressed with this woman! Baby kept moving around, and trying to hide, so it took over an hour to get all the shots she needed! She was rather rough with the wand on my belly too! At one point, it actually HURT! No wonder he kept moving away! After quite some time, however, he did uncross his legs and let us get confirmation that we are having our 3rd boy! We go back again at 32 weeks just to check on everything, because I'm AMA. The Perinatologist did tell us that they saw no indicators of Downs or any other problem, so that's good! After the 32 week ultrasound, I may have to go every 2 weeks, but we will play that by ear, as some of that will depend on the results of my 28week Glucose test. Most importantly, baby is GOOD!
Mine was good! The tech Identified everything for us and asked a number of times whether we were sure we wanted to know the sex. Yes! It's a boy!! We're so excited. They even switched it over to 3-d which was really cool. I have to have another US at 30 weeks due to have a low lying placenta, but they said it really isn't anything to worry about
We had our a/s yesterday and it went great! Found out we are having a girl and everything looked great. It was the same tech that did our 12 week scan and she's great! So excited to start buying things for our little girl

I'm with you on the rough US tech. It did hurt! Not what I was expecting, but at least we saw baby was healthy. Ours was also not cooperative, breech and curled up in a ball. But they did get pics of everything they needed.

I had mine on Tuesday, and our girl is mostly looking good but the doc saw an echogenic bowel so I had to go and have a couple of blood tests done so we can rule out things like cystic fibrosis and congenital CMV. Of course the odds for all that stuff is super low, but it's still really stressful. Dr. Google is not my friend these days!
We had ours on Monday. Everything went well, except that our wiggle worm didn't want to cooperate for the heart pictures. I have to go back at my next appointment (oh darn).
We managed to keep the sex a secret, although we both kinda think it might be a girl. At the very least, there was nothing as obvious as DS at his AS.
Congrats to everyone! I hope you all enjoy the second half of pregnancy!
I had mine today and it's a girl!!! I'm so excited. I've thought this whole pregnancy that it was going to be a boy just based on a feeling I had, but sure enough, when they zoomed in there was a vagina. I went into the scan a little worried about her heart after a recent scare where the ultrasound tech was measuring the heartbeat and it dipped down from the 170s to the 90s for a few seconds then came back up. But this ultrasound showed a strong four-chambered heart without any palpitations after an extended time of looking at the heart and measuring its heartbeats. Overall, the baby looks healthy and is measuring a week ahead. The only concern was one of the kidneys was measuring a little off. My OB told me not to worry, though, because she's seen this before and it usually resolves itself within a few more weeks of growing. I have a followup ultrasound in 8 weeks to check on the kidneys. I'm really hoping everything will be fine by then. For now, though, I'm just so excited to have been able to see my baby again and find out that she's healthy!
Our Anatomy scan was Wednesday. It was great. We think everything went well. The tech doesn't read the scan but she said it looked good to her. We had to look away for most of it because we are team green and she didn't want us looking while she was poking around. That was kind of a bummer. I think its a boy though because of the profile.
