From last week to this week: I went from 1cm, 0% effacement, very soft to a "wiggly" 1cm, 30-40% effaced, and still very soft. Normally my OB would only check at 36, 18, and 40 weeks (I just learned that), but since I have a high chance of needing an induction again, she wanted to check again this week to see how favorable I am. I really have this feeling that baby will come on her own next week - no idea why though, ha. DH said the same thing though, so we'll see. OB will likely induce on April 11 or 12 if baby doesn't come on her own before then. Due date is April 14.
Hi, lurking from March BMB...sorry if I missed it, but how come your doctor wants to induce you before your due date?
I'm so jealous of all you guys. My doctor did a check yesterday (37 weeks) and told me there was absolutely nothing happening. It really sucks because my bp is 159/90 and I'm on bed rest.

Me too, was in L&D from 9 pm Tuesday until yesterday around 12. Had contractions that were 5 minutes apart all afternoon, got to L&D and was not dilated at all. They monitored me, gave me fluids (contractions continued) still no progress. I'm having a RCS and they would only do it early if the contractions wouldn't stop or I was dilated, well they finally stopped so I'm home, just wanted for this to happen again
How am I still pregnant?????? for nine days, I have been walking around 4-5 cm dilated, 100% effaced and n mucus plug. My doctor said my bag of water is literally sitting on my cervix waiting to pop.

This waiting is giving me horrible anxiety.
Try getting on your hands and knees and swaying your hips back and forth up and down. I was having the same issues when I had my daughter. The doctor told me to sway my hips and I had my daughter the next day. Hopefully it works for you!

Due date is tomorrow and today the doctor says I'm only 1 cm and 50% effaced. How. Why. My face is so buggy and severe with pain and impatience that DH is visibly scared of me now. They scheduled an induction for the evening of the 7th, so there's that to look forward to. Wooo!

hellomcintosh Hi, lurking from March BMB...sorry if I missed it, but how come your doctor wants to induce you before your due date?
No worries! I had pre-eclampsia with my first (really scary blood pressure readings even on Labetalol - we're talking multiple weeks at 160's/90's and finally went on bed rest at 34weeks when my readings were 180/116+) and was induced at 38w3d - so I had a history already.
This time, I have the high blood pressure again (but has been better controlled on Labetatol), my placenta started maturing early, she was a bit concerned when we saw the calcifications on my 34 week ultrasound, and am being monitored for low amniotic fluid and baby growth. I have been doing NSTs again twice a week and baby continues to trace beautifully. We've been hoping to get as close to 40 as possible, and it looks like that will be the case unless baby girl has her own plans of coming early - I am 100% fine with inducing 2-3 days early. It would be more risky to me and baby to go past 40 in my case.
@hellomcintosh Of course, I don't mind sharing at all! I am a big advocate of letting baby come when baby is ready: my OB knows that I want to wait as long as possible, but once the risk becomes too great to wait any longer, I will gladly do what's best for baby and me.
No progress from last week to this week (doc and front desk were really surprised to see me) induction scheduled to start on Sunday and Eliot should be here by Monday... Unless he wants to come now...
As of yesterday I am still at 1cm and "way up there"...so they're starting induction on Tuesday evening. Due date is Friday (a week from today) so it's only a few days early but my BP readings are still high and I've developed Pre-e. Also, at my u/s Tuesday they said my placenta is beginning to calcify. Dr. doesn't expect she'll be coming on her own any time soon. Baby should be here by Wednesday (I hope)!
Just got back from the doctor's for a water breaking scare (turns out just a year infection making everything irritated and leaky, YUCK) but on the bright side, I've gone from completely plugged to between 2-3 cm dilated!
So I've made progress. 2 centimeters dilated and 50% effaced. Also baby is fully engaged and ready to go!
I know it doesn't mean too terribly much but I've been feeling my first cramps/contractions in the last 24 hours and it is exciting!
I gave in to cervical checks today because I am GBS+ and live an hour from the hospital. Now I wish I hadn't. I have been having the WORST cramps all day and now I'm writhing around in bed because there is no comfortable way for me to sit or lay down.
Oh, and I learned I am not at all dilated. I wish I hadn't let my doctor talk me into it.
I was at 36 w and 3cm and 70 percent...I go to check again tomorrow for 37w..come on, I have already cleaned and reorganized everything ha!! I am a STM, I am ready...
39 + 3 today... I have been at 1 cm for a few weeks and was hoping for a little progress, but my doctor said basically nothing is happening! She went ahead and scheduled my induction for 41 weeks to get me on the books in the hospital. Mixed feelings... disappointed at no progress, nervous about being induced, a little sad that I may never get to experience going into labor "naturally"... I was induced with my first, too. But I'm also glad that there's an end date in sight and hopeful that MAYBE he'll still come on his own before then?

Went in yesterday. Did a check because why not. At 38+2 weeks I an 3 cm dilated. She said at 39 weeks we can schedule a induction if we want. 39 week appointment I'd at 39+2 so we will gladly schedule for the day after dd of he isn't already here or on his way here by then.
Last week at 36.4 I was "not quite one cm" and yesterday at 37.4 I was 2cm and 60-70% effaced. So, making some progress, but knowing that it means squat.
I did get a lovely "Well, I'm definitely touching your child's head right now" comment during that cervical check. Speaking of which, I don't understand how people think those hurt, but I'm thankful they don't for me, because it is awkward enough as it is without being painful.
At my 38+5 appointment I was at 2-3cm, got a membrane sweep that day and nothing has happened so far, but I went from having lots of BH, cramps, and pink discharge, to not having much of anything except lighting crotch. She said baby wouldn't come if he wasn't ready anyways, but I feel like now all progress has completely stopped lol. That sweep would have the complete opposite effect for me lol. I'm 39+1 weeks today though so I'm close regardless!!
I was 37w last Monday, a 4 and 80 percent with a "butter like" cervix according to doc. She said anytime, I have been on the ball, walking, sex, you name it...nothing! I see the doc for 38w tomorrow.
I am 38 weeks and and 2 days. I had an appointment yesterday. Doc checked my cervix for the 2nd time, and I was dilated 1cm. I lost what I think to be my entire mucus plug today. I've been feeling crampy and heavy in my lower stomach all day.. I haven't been able to really time anything because there hasn't been a distinct feeling of relief after the "cramp". Any thoughts?? Thank you!
Been 1.5 cm and 50% effaced for over a week now. Have had bad cramping since Sunday night but nothing seems to be happening. Hoping she decides to come on or before her due date of the 22nd.
So my doc measures the length of my cervix with an ultrasound wand rather the traditional cm/effaced measure (he says it's more accurate). Has anyone encountered this before? At 39 weeks my cervix length was just over 2cm (he only checked because I asked), going in tomorrow on my due date for a membrane sweep and another check...
