Re: WTO Wednesday

  • Month/Cycle: 6

    CD: 7

WAYDTGKU: AF is finally gone! Been taking my EPO and upping my water intake to help with fertile CM. Going to start HIO soon!

R/R/CS: I have a 14 hour day lined up... Which I am not looking forward to. But on a positive note, this is the first day this cycle that I've woken up and been like... "Okay, let's do this." Hopefully it stays this way :)

GTKY: I'm not a huge movie buff, but we just recently watched Martian and I loved it!! It kept my attention, and didn't seem to sci-fi for me (which I've never been able to sustain attention for)

  • Good morning!

    Month/Cycle: 4/3

    CD: 36

    WAYDTGKU: Not much these days

R/R/CS: Still no O in sight. Gonna go out on a limb and say this cycle is anovulatory. Looking forward to starting fresh.

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review! The Revenant! I enjoyed it, but DH did not. There was a lot of action and suspense, and I enjoyed the character development.
  • Good morning! Sorry I never made it back yesterday, but thank you to everyone for the well wishes for my DS. He is feeling better and I'm back at work today and swamped. Really hoping to get back later to comment.

    Month/Cycle: 10

    CD: 3

WAYDTGKU: Starting round 3 of Clomid tonight, TI, and adding a trigger this month. ***question*** Does anyone have any experience with the Ovidrel trigger? I'm feeling a little nervous about it.

R/R/CS: Well, I've been doing two jobs for almost a year now, but no one touches my work when I'm off, even though there are things that are time sensitive and need to be handled immediately, so there's that.

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review! Is it terrible that I have no idea? I think it was probably Inside Out, which was over the summer, haha. We rarely go to the movies. But Inside Out was really cute!

  • Meh, sorry about the possible anovulatory cycle, @RatsPJ. Here's to hoping AF comes soon and along with it, a new opportunity!

  • Good morning, ladies! Thanks to everyone for your supportive comments yesterday and I'm sorry all I could do was give "love its"! Yesterday was an absolutely insane day at work, but all of you really helped me get through it. Thanks!

    Month/Cycle: 8/8

    WAYDTGKU: most of the things

R/R/CS:  Well, today is pretty much our one day this month to give it a real try before we both go away on our separate work/family trips...of course, during the FW. Greeaaaat. I'm trying to stay positive since there is a small chance that it takes, but not holding my breath. Sigh.

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review! I think it was the Martian. I did not expect to like it at all...I was basically dragged into watching it by DH. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it was not really a sci-fi space movie, but instead it was a cute and funny. Having Matt Damon to look at the whole time wasn't half bad either. ;)

    WAYDTGKU: PNV, iron, acupuncture

R/R/CS: I looked into getting a semen analysis privately yesterday as opposed to the NHS. (Primitive national health service) as the level of service with the NHS is revolting and it will wipe out cycle 8. And I stumbled upon a private clinic offering joint fertility "MOT"'s.

The clinic has good reviews and the cost isn't much for than a semen analysis AND it's one if many private clinics so it's definitely not going to be stealing anyone's rightful appointment. I have a bit of extra left from my bonus so I'm seriously considering it.

It involves a semen analysis for SO. Blood tests for ovarion reserve for me and a follicle/uterus ultrasound.

I'd just love the piece if mind but also concerned I'd be jumping the gun....but then if we're paying for an SA anyway.....?

It's likely it would have to get cycle 8 onwards that it would happen anyway.

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review!

We re-watched the jurassic park movies at the weekend- they still made us jump and are pretty much classics.

WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPK & PNVs.  The key ingredient (my H) is now gone until Sunday.

R/R/CS: Started giving my OPK a little pep talk this morning to tell the smiley to stay away until H is back, hopefully it listens...

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review!
Oh geez, it's sad how little we watch movies these days.  I think the last one was Bridge of Spies.  I really liked that movie and I was so happy to see Mark Rylance win Best Supporting Actor, he was amazing and his "would it help?" phrase has become one of my favorites to use.
  • Month/Cycle: 3/3 ATTC (11/6 NTNP)

    CD: 5

    WAYDTGKU: Started BBT today.

R/R/CS: So, our foster dog has been waking up in the middle of the night to bark for 10 minutes and then go back to sleep. I didn't want him to mess up my temps, so we put a citronella bark collar on him. I feel a little guilty, but also sorry not sorry, little guy. It worked beautifully.

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review!
Oh gosh. I'm a big TV person because my attention span for movies is pretty dismal. I think maybe Sisters was the last movie, and I stopped watching after about 20-30 minutes! It didn't really appeal to my sense of humor.
  • Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD: 11

WAYDTGKU: PNVs, Temping, Met, OPKS, BD EOD

R/R/CS: We were supposed to BD this morning but DH wasnt feeling good so were going to "try" after work. The reason we do these 4 am sessions is cause he commutes and sometimes he gets home really late and then isnt feeling up to it. So I really hope we can still make it happen. I havent turned an OPK yet. But last cycle I O'd earlier then usual and I want our timing to be really good.

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review!
Star Wars lol. We dont go to the movies a lot. But there was no way I wasn't seeing Star Wars in the theater. I'm totally a star wars nerd and I loved it. There were parts I didnt agree with but overall it was awesome and im glad we went to see it.

If we are talking just watching a movie at all, DH and I watch movies on netflix a lot, I think the last one we watched was Major league, such a classic. Still love it.

GTKY: The last movie I saw in theaters was probably Mockingjay part 2. The last movie I watched was Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants on Netflix :)

R/R/CS: so my temp went up this morning but I think it's because I had some drinks at a work function last night. This would be early for me to o but we'll see. Also my side still hurts.. Google said anything from kidney problems, appendicitis, gas, etc. I think it could be a muscle tear after reading an article my friend sent me. Ugh.

GTKY: the last movie we saw in theatres was Star Wars I think. We don't go much. At home on tv we watched National Lampoons European Vacation. Love the Griswalds!

R/R/CS: **QUESTION** I woke up at 3:55 because DH woke up to get water. I normally just reach for my BBT whenever I wake up. Once I temped I saw it was 97.09... :( not what I was expecting... but then again, things don't go as we expect in the body, do they! I fell back asleep and temped again at 6:15 when I woke up and it was 96.78. 6AM has been my normal temp time this cycle, but wanted to get everyone's opinions.....I figure I should keep the first temp and then see what the future brings....but I am slightly having anxiety because i want this cycle to be normal   and don't want 3 days in a row of BD to go to waste!

We watched  The Big Short, it was really good! They break down the housing crisis in layman's terms so I finally KIND OF understood what happened. lol We also watched Brooklyn...amazing!!! A must watch.

DH and I don't go to the movies very often because 1. it's crazy expensive and 2. we are TV people, but the last movie we saw in the theater was Deadpool. Loved it.  (see "Deadpool thoughts" thread for more info about this movie!)

@JediAlly85 DH and I both have long commutes, him down state, me up state. So I know how hard it is sometimes to get in the mood when you're exhausted! Good luck tonight!
@houseofsetters For some reason when I read Major League my first thought was A League of Their Own which is one of my all times favs. So now I must watch it.
@Sparty18 I'll keep my Fx they smiley's remain at bay until DH is back lol.
@wineo929 14 hours?! Fx it goes quickly for you!
@babymish I think an SA is perfectly acceptable at this point. It's not like you're actually visiting an RE yet, at least in the future if you ever do need to see one you'll already have the SA information with you. So you can tell them either way if the SA is or isn't an issue.

R/R/CS: Still on a high that the results of my hsg were good. But the longer I thought about it last night, the more I'm wondering "what's next?" I'll have the US next Thursday, but I'm pretty sure that's just to see if I have the telltale PCOS "string of pearls".  I'm starting to worry that my OB is going to recommend waiting it out, and taking Provera when I need too. (Since I have two more rounds at home). I'm also waiting for the results of my bloodwork/glucose test. I told her yesterday during my hsg that I had my blood work over a week ago, and she said we'll call with the results. I'm a new patient, the hsg was only my second time seeing her and I kind of feel like she's just going through the motions with me. As in, she has really bad bedside manner and I don't feel she has any concern, that I am just another slot on her appointment book. Maybe I'm over thinking it since it WAS only my second time seeing her, but after the US and blood work results, I'm opening to hearing what she has to say, but I may try to get a referral to an RE. Someone who's only job is fertility.

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review!
If we're talking about any movie, the last I watched was The Little Princess and it was just as good this time as every other time I watched it. If we're talking newer movies, I bought Jurassic World on a whim a few weeks ago. It was okay. Chris Pratt is a total stud but the movie was a total dud. I really want to see Brooklyn and The Dutch Girl though!

R/R/CS: I am in the trees and will not be able to see the forest for a few days.  +OPK (wondfo) last night and "seconded" with a CBD smiley so we made sure to get down to business, but now my temp's up a lot this morning :(  I'm not usually one to get worked up with, "When did I o???" but the LH surge followed by a temp rise instead of a temp drop doesn't seem right (for me based on my patterns/history)...  I was really excited to maybe get -2, -1 timing but now it might be -1, 0.  Guess I'll just have to wait it out.  On the plus side DH leaves tomorrow on his trip so having o'd would be great. (This section edited because I rechecked my chart).

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review!
This is the perfect question for me today because we finally saw Batman vs. Superman last night and it was pretty great.  I read all these reviews beforehand and after watching it, it felt like all these critics just wanted it to be bad.  Yeah, the character development and dialogue could have been a little better but not all superhero movies can be The Dark Knight.  It was fun, Wonder Woman was awesome, the acting was great for what they had, I felt moved... what else do they want?

I think we all just collectively have Superhero fatigue and I told my DH last night, our grandkids are going to look at Superhero movies the way we look at Westerns.  There were way too many for a while and they all look about the same.

  • **Question for veteran TTCers or anyone with expert knowledge contained in post**

    Month/Cycle: 2/3

    CD: 2 :(

WAYDTGKU: Trying EPO for the first time this month, switching to vag temping, BD BD BD

R/R/CS: I know people usually aren’t happy to come here from TWW, but I really am this time. It was my first full cycle of temping so I didn’t really know how it would go and so when it ended, I was really sad and by the end of the day realized I had lost sight of my goals and that I’m in this for the journey with OH… it’s not a race. Going to keep working hard to get there but I want to make sure I’m appreciating all the other awesome things going on in my life while working on it <3

Anyway, question that I've been turning over in my head for the past day or so and am curious if anyone here could explain it better. Doesn't relate to me or my cycle obviously or else I wouldn't be in WTO :) Just … after seeing random people’s “omg bfp at 8 days” threads on other non-Bump forums, I am just kind of confused...

So... if HCG doubles every 48-72 hours and natural pre-pregnancy HCG levels are supposed to be under 5 (based on what I've seen on a number of sites and what I remember as the upper limit for pre-pregnancy when I had a blood test after MC), and implantation typically takes place 6-10dpo, how does anyone manage to get a BFP on 8dpo or 9dpo?  Doing the math, it doesn't make sense to me. Assuming someone:

    - Had a high natural level of HCG to start of 5 instead of 1 or 2

    • Had the good fortune of implanting super early on day 6
    • And doubled their HCG fast… every 48 hours instead of a slower 72

    That comes out to:

    6DPO: HCG = 5

    8DPO: HCG = 10

    10DPO: HCG = 20

    12DPO: HCG = 40

Assuming you just had a singleton pregnancy and assuming we’re talking about HPTs and not blood tests… you wouldn't get a BFP until 10-12 DPO at the earliest, right? I've tried googling this to no end, but I just keep coming up with random threads from other forums where people got positives then... not really explaining how. And, on the opposite end of that, a lot of people who assume they’re out if they don’t have a positive by 12dpo when, if you do the math, you could keep getting negatives until 18dpo under **completely normal circumstances.**

So... my mind, it aches. Help me understand. Again, nothing to do with me or my cycle, just confused about other people's cycles and pregnancies :|

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review!
In theaters? I think it was Sisters. It was a bit confusing for me because I like Tina Fey but don't like Amy Poehler that much in comedy roles. Very raunchy but funny--noticed it was on iTunes for download almost immediately so I guess it didn't do too well in theaters.

  • Thanks for all the broken toe well wishes!  I'm not one of the graceful people, and have broken quite a few of my smaller toes beyond recognition. Most of them don't bend much and my pinky toes have been immobile lumps of flesh for a long time. I definitely heard and felt the crack this time, so maybe it will reset back to something more normal!

@JediAlly85 Major League is a great movie!  I think that'll be up next, in honor of Opening Day!

@mokay19 good luck at your appointment Monday!

@SandwichLover I hope you feel better soon and that it turns out to be nothing serious

@furbabymom2007 I love the gif. That one may go to the hubster today ;)

@mrsdaddario I have my fingers crossed for you for good news from your OB!  I hope she gets a bit warmer toward you. If she doesn't, I'd absolutely ask for a referral.

@thefarmerswife0411 that blows about the student loans. We have a similar ish situation with DH's loans and it sucks sometimes.

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1

CD: 19 (Even though I answer this pretty much every day, I still have to look at app because I never remember)

WAYDTGKU: I bought a Mabis and Wondfos from Amazon yesterday! They said it would take about 10 days to get here but it shipped this morning so we'll see :)

R/R/CS: Still learning - What are cross hairs?  My chart is ridiculous but I'm going to blame that on my lack of proper thermometer.

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review!  In theatres: Dead Pool. Heck yes. Do it.  On Netflix: A movie called Would You Rather with Brittany Snow and it was awful. I hated it.

  • @wineo929  @songbirdinthecity  I’ve been wanting to watch the Martian because I really like the book. But the book seemed like it would make a really boring movie unless you’re like me and just really into science. Was it not like that?

@babymish  I totally got flamed a few months back for saying I would consider testing after about the 6 month mark. I’m at 8 cycles and haven’t done any yet (I’ve decided I’ll wait until at least cycle 11), but it’s definitely a tough decision to make and it doesn’t help that different experts say different things. I personally don’t think getting some simple tests done at month 7 is too much (especially since, as you said, you aren’t taking an appointment from someone else), but meeting with an RE and starting to use any fertility drugs would probably be jumping the gun unless you find something wrong. I’m sure other people will have different things to say though.

@furbabymom2007  I usually get a temp drop a few days before O. It looks like today or tomorrow might be O day for you. FX!

@Zoey1019  Did you get back to sleep right away after your early wake-up? And did you get up at all? If you didn’t get up and you went right back to sleep, I think the temp around your normal time would still be reliable. Obviously you’ll have to see what happens in the next few days though, so keep HIO and FX for O!

@kellybean1988  Hopefully your doctor is impressed with your charting!

@thefarmerswife0411  Are you able to consolidate your loans so that you only have to make one payment? That’s what my H and I are considering doing soon (though he’s still in school so we only have one payment right now).

@canavara  I’ve never seen anyone on here get a BFP at 8DPO (though I may have just missed it) but I’m assuming that if people do, they are very faint. I don’t think anyone would get a clear positive that early. I’m also not sure just how sensitive home pregnancy tests can get, but I think some of them are sensitive enough to catch those early BFPs.

    Month/Cycle: 7/8

    CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: Temping, CM, CP, BD ED

R/R/CS: I should be O'ing any day now!

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review!
The last movie I saw in theatres was Batman v. Superman and I already gave my review on that. The last movie I watched was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets because H and I are rereading all the books and comparing to the movies. They leave out way too much :(
  • @britters314 Nope, didn't get up, and yes, went right back to sleep...going to go with normal temping time temp! Thanks!

  • @Dilynne  Crosshairs are what FF gives you when it detects O. There will be a vertical line on your chart on O day and a horizontal line that shows your coverline.

Yeah I haven't been here long enough to see an 8dpo bfp from anyone. I've just seen so many charts on FF where that's been a thing though, weird because they were CH placed by FF. But I think around here it's the opposite where a lot of people get a BFN on 11dpo and assume "I'm out!" which is confusing to me as well. Maybe I'm overthinking it and when people say that, it's more of an emotional feeling than a logical one :)

Yeah, I've seen that too and I think it is more of an emotional feeling. Most of the times I have seen people say that it's because with a previous pregnancy they got an early BFP so even if they know that they won't necessarily get an early BFP again, it still feels like they are out.

    Morning!

    Month/Cycle: 5 / 3 ttcal

    CD: 10

WAYDTGKU: this month only sex and continuing my pnvs. I'm checking cervical mucus everyday because that's a hard habit to break.... But I'm taking this month off from stressing.

R/R/CS: question.... I've only confirmed O for two cycles post mc. First cycle I ovulated on CD 10. Second cycle I ovulated on CD 13. Cm isn't pointing me in the direction of ovulation just yet..... But since I'm taking this month off should I stick around here or move over to tww around cd14? I know it doesn't really matter too much one way or the other. Just curious what you would do.

GTKY: What is the last movie you saw? Give us a review!

Took DD to see The Good Dinosaur a couple weeks ago at a small local theater that plays movies a few months after big theaters. It was adorable! I cried way too many times.

  • OK I have no time to respond *so sorry!* but to those of you who posted about student loans:

Student loans are a pain in my ass. Although, if you are in the US and you work for either the government or a non-profit org, look into the "Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program." It can get you on track to get your loan debt (excluding private loans, of course) forgiven after 120 consecutive payments. I am enrolled it in now (I work at a non-profit private university), and am 2 years into my 10 of getting my debt forgiven. Also look into income-based repayment plans for your loans (other than private, again)--that's what I do! You have to re-submit your income info each year (and your spouse's, if you file taxes jointly), but if you qualify based on your income, they will lower your payments. But I totally agree about loan companies just assuming that everyone has a disposable extra $1000 to spend on loans each month once you get married--so lame.
