  • My FFFC is bad. I am so sick (ended up in hospital on IV for dehydration from puking so much) that I have a tiny bit of regret that I am pregnant with this baby that I have wished and cried for, for the past 4 years. I can't even function. I want to go into an induced coma until it's over. I've thrown up everything I ate today. A bit of water has stayed down, which is the only reason I'm not going to ER again. :(

It pains me to say that I know in my heart that I can't go through this again. This will be my last pregnancy. And I've had bleeding that I thought was another miscarriage, but it's been confirmed a SCH. Please baby, stick. I'm not strong enough to do this again.
I've probably been on The Bump longer than you have.

  • @SRose109 yeah, it's HG. I had it with my son as well, but I swear it wasn't this bad. I am just miserable. But truly, thank you for the kind words.

  • @carlatron Ugh, I am so sorry. Hope you find some sort of relief soon.
  • @ShallowSeas I think keggels are crap anyway. there is no way they help during labor. At best they help tighten things up after delivery but I'm not wasting time doing them now ;)

I had a damn c-section but still sprinkle when I cough/sneeze hard enough. Why is the bump smooshing everything I write into one paragraph when I hit enter and made separate paragraphs?

  • My FFFC is that we went through the McDonald's drive through (which is about a once a year occurrence) at 1am when I left the ER last night and I had finished my vanilla milkshake before we even left the parking lot. It was delicious. Not sorry at all.

@carlatron FX you're feeling better soon!!

I had no idea you were supposed to do kegels while pregnant - I didn't hear anything about them until after delivery last time.  :#

My FFFC - I am super intimidated by this whole bmb thing.  I am really good at lurking, but I always hesitate to jump in.  But I've seen how awesome they can be and I really want to be involved this time, so I'm trying!
  • I know someone mentioned being late to work. My FFFC is I have had to leave for BW or appts like 3 days this week. Pretty sure my boss is going to think I'm dying if I don't tell him soon.
  • I don't wash my hair every day or every other day or every two days etc.  I wash it about once a week.  I'm Latina and my hair is DRY so washing it too often would strip it of the very little oil it creates.  No amount of conditioner would make up for the damage that would come from washing daily.
Same here! I wash mine every 3-4 days and I still have to slather it with serums and crap to keep it from being so dry.

My FFFC: I bought a bag of mini cadbury eggs earlier this week to put out on Easter, but I've definitely eaten 90% of the bag myself ... whoops ...  :/

So kegels tighten, but you also want to make sure you stretch. I think this site is a great resource on pelvic floor health for both pregnancy, postpartum, and every day: https://nutritiousmovement.com/this-birth-helper-is-a-stretch/ (this is a link to a random article but click around)
  • @rooftop sounds like your two year old has good taste! Love that show.
@ShallowSeas yeah, what @whaat said. I went to a pelvic floor physical therapist after my last babe (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED btw for anyone who has had a vaginal delivery) and she said that you gots to stretch that floor and tighten. And not to tighten too much or else it makes getting that baby out even harder. So basically all those "do your kegels!" reminders are not comprehensive enough.

My FFFC is that I had to ask what Easter is yesterday. I mean obviously I've heard of Easter. But in not Christian and from the outside its hard to tell what the celebration is because the imagery is a lot of rabbits and colored eggs and kids in pastel suspenders.

Umm.  This article lost me at "device," and the link from that article that I thought might be helpful was about internal sessions with a provider.  Did I miss the take-home tips?  Are you talking about perineal massage?  I can't speak for OBs, but I know that many midwives recommend it (but it isn't until the last 6 weeks of pregnancy).

I'm not religious at all. For me, Easter is all about rabbits and colored eggs and family and a yummy meal and Easter egg hunts and chocolate and most importantly, spring time and renewal! I've never encountered any pastel suspenders though. I think maybe my dog needs some this year :)

I seriously ...just fell in love with you.

I have my pillow, then the pillow I spoon with and that's the fart pillow. I have to lift the sheets every night to air it out in case I accidentally switch the pillows up and I end up giving myself pink eye.

^^^this. All of this! Makes me feel so much better Im not a weirdo who worries about this. I bought a pregnancy pillow last time and I just havent brought myself around to pulling it back out so I stole my hubbies for my legs.. and am terrified Ill accidentally switch them up!

My FFFC is Ive never seen star wars, lord of the rings, sopranos, or the godfather. And I have no interest to ever try to.
  • @zrain I think that's stuck in my head from my favorite movie, Steel Magnolias, when Shelby's little boy is running around at the end in the suspenders during the Easter egg hunt. That, and Pinterest. Love to see a dog in suspenders! My husband is oddly obsessed with dogs in clothing.

@kns1988 I too find Archer extremely attractive.  Ha!  Thanks for the heads up though.  I will not be googling that...at least not at work.  ;)

@virginiaham she's not recommending the device at all. Basically there is a stretching device, and she talks about why that's a bad idea, but she gets into why stretching and strengthening are both important. When your pelvic floor is too tight, it can't really do much.
