Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Feeling pretty good lately surprisingly. Heartburn has been bearable this week and I've been sleeping pretty well, only waking up once to pee. Some lady gave me a $20 off total purchase coupon today ag the grocery store and I'm chalking that up to perks of a baby bump.
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday April 6th I think?
Questions for the group:
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose?
We both agreed early on if it was a boy his middle name would be Harvey after my Husband's grandpa and if it was a girl I got to choose the middle name to commemorate my grandma, although I wasn't going to choose family names. My Husband had little interest in deciding on names before finding out the sex but I was all for it. I came up with Hailey Jade or Harper Rose for girls names...and basically told him these are the names I like, what do you think? He liked them both and I told him I was leaning towards Harper Rose. Christmas Eve on the way home from family dinner we were talking about the names and he liked Harper too and said "Let's lock it in!" even though we didn't know we were having a girl yet. Thank God we are having a girl though, because we could never agree on a boys name. I decided on Jade and Rose as middle names because one of my grandma's always wore gorgeous jade jewelry so I always thought of her and my other grandma (the one who is still alive and I'm incredibly close to) is known for her beautiful roses.
Happy Easter to you too, Valerie4786. and everyone else who celebrates!
Week / Fruit: 31 weeks!! pineapple
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Feeling great this week! No new signs of preterm labor, other than my normal contractions. Insomnia seems to be hanging around at 5am. Slight burning feeling along my midline. My OB said it might be diastasis recti, but it's too early to tell. Anybody else?
Upcoming Appointments: April 5th. Regular OB appt.
Questions for the group: please see above
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? team green - and we aren't close on a girl or boy name. I don't mind not choosing until we meet baby, but I'd like to have some mutually agreeable options!! I love Henry and William for boy, but DH vetoed both. Girl, I like Emily, Clara, and Grace, but I'd also love to find a family name. Our twins are Genevieve (Gen) and Anne, named after DH's great Aunt and my Grandmother (both living).
ETA: If everything goes through with scheduling, we will have a c/s date of May 9th!! It is nice to have an "end date", especially when trying to see the silver lining in having a c/s!
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!

Glad you are sleeping well, and I love the sentiment behind Rose and Jade!! so sweet. She will love it.

@JennyS86 I have started to feel the burning sensation and I think someone else posted about it this week. I think it is just your skin stretching. I put coconut oil on it when it burns and it definitely helps.
Week / Fruit: 31/ pineapple
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Feeling pretty good overall but sleep is becoming an issue. I was able to make it through the night without having to pee but that is not the case anymore. And falling back asleep is harder and harder.
Upcoming Appointments: April 8 OB check up
Questions for the group: What brand of bottles do you plan to use? I am going to BF but will need bottles when I go back to work.
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? We had a girls name picked before we even TTC. Jacqueline Lily. Neither name has a family link to it, we just liked it. Its a good thing its a girl because we still cannot come together for a boys name.
Rants/raves/symptoms: feeling good in general, still having BH, back pain. Sleeping is hard. She's so low and as soon as I get comfortable, she shifts and I have to pee.
Upcoming appts: 4/7 for check up, 4/18 for pre-op, maybe one 4/27. Tentative c section date is 4/29. So happy to have an end in sight!
Stolen GTKY: My hubby didn't want to discuss baby names until we found out the sex. The night we found out, we went on his phone to baby name websites and scrolled through a ton of names. He came across Cora. He liked it. He kept mentioning it all night and the days after. I liked it even more so because he liked it so much. So our LO will be Cora Raelynn. Rae is a family name on my side and Lynn on his side. He was happy with that. So we've known her name since 14 weeks. It was easy naming her!
@pooputtette I'm using Avent bottles. Also have some Playtex Ventaire. I used those with my daughter 8 years ago. Hoping this baby takes to either of those.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: same old same old. I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore only because I'm getting anxious to meet this lil girl!
Upcoming Appointments: 4/4 for reg appt. 4/6 for first growth scan.
Questions for the group: wondering about everyone's hospital tour. We had ours this week and it was a waste. All we did was look at the rooms. No birth plan discussion. No meeting other Drs. I feel like everyone else I know had these experiences during this tour so I was a bit disappointed.
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? @valerie4786, I knew we were both moms of Harpers, but I don't think I knew we are both using Rose as the mn!! Does the popularity of Harper bother you at all? We love the name and not changing it but I don't want her to be a Harper of many in her class! I've loved the name for years, even before it started to get popular... Just wish it wasn't so trendy right now!!
We always thought if we had a girl her name would be Whitney or Brooke. But something about both just didn't seem right once we knew we were having a girl. I told dh I have liked the name Harper for a while and he said he really liked it. I suggested Rose as her mn as its a family name on his side (he got to pick girl mn, I got to pick boy). As soon as I said Harper Rose that was her name! I especially love it as her initials will be HRH, like "her royal highness". I definitely need to get her something with initials on it.
Week / Fruit: 33/ovia says a ferret today... I feel like that's more relatable than fruit.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Can't wait until I don't have to deal with this heartburn anymore. Rib kicks are getting a little unpleasant. Things could be worse though I guess. Other than those things I'm just coasting along.
Upcoming Appointments: 3/29
Questions for the group: None
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? We chose pretty much right away. We had a short list by the time we found out the sex and just kept trying things from that to see if anything stuck. We ended up loving our choice pretty much right away - Clara Noelle. I couldn't imagine it being anything else now.
@JennyS86 I have started to feel the burning sensation and I think someone else posted about it this week. I think it is just your skin stretching. I put coconut oil on it when it burns and it definitely helps.
Week / Fruit: 31/ pineapple
Thanks @ pooputtette! I will try the coconut oil. I haven't been diligent about moisturizing.
Bottles: I used the lansinoh ones last time after the dr. Browns and medela didn't work for us.
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: rants: insomnia! I always wake up wide awake between 2-3am and can not fall back asleep until close to 6 no matter what I try! (Alarm goes off at 620 on weekdays, so this is wonderful.).
Raves: I had an awesome birthday today! DH was a star and took me to breakfast then had me a prenatal massage scheduled. When I got home from that, he had 30 cupcakes on the table making the shape of "3 0" and a really sweet card. We grilled burgers and enjoyed the sunshine, then took a nap! Excellent day!
Upcoming Appointments: this Wednesday
Questions for the group: none this week
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? Since we are tam green we need names for both sexes. We both made short lists of boy and girl names and had a few overlap! Fortunately he was on board with my #1 girl name and I was more flexible on boy names and liked his top choice a lot so that's what we went with! Middle name for either will be my maiden name.
@pooputtette I've bought a few Lansinoh bottles on the recommendation of a friend who is also switching between bottle and breast, but am holding off on buying more until I see how she does with them. And I LOVE the name you chose! So pretty!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Raves - my baby shower was last week and it was wonderful! Rants/Symptoms - my groin area is SO sore, especially at night. And it's getting harder to bend down.
Upcoming Appointments: Routine appointment this week.
Questions for the group: None
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? We're naming her Julia, which is just a name I've always liked - thankfully, DH liked it too!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: got a prenatal massage this week and it was SO worth it. This might have to be a weekly thing until I deliver. BH slowed down when I did, thanks to doctor's orders. Still difficult to make it through the workdays because everything is so uncomfortable. Hands, feet, and ankles swollen all the time.
Upcoming Appointments: Perinatologist on Wednesday, OB on Thursday. Hopefully I haven't dilated any more! I swear I've been being good!
Questions for the group: The hospital we want to deliver at has a 34 week threshold. Anyone else running into this and worrying about delivering preterm and ending up at an unfamiliar hospital?
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? We still have not chosen, or even talked about it really. DH swears he'll be ready to discuss it soon. Worst comes to worst, we each get to pick one twin's name if we can't agree. I am leaning toward Alexandra Joy and Elise Royal.
Questions for the group: What brand of bottles do you plan to use? I am going to BF but will need bottles when I go back to work.
We registered for Avent but haven't received any so we'll see what there is at the Parents of Multiples consignment sale in a couple weeks and decide then.
@pooputtette We're using Playtex Ventaire because my sister handed me down a lot of them that are still perfectly fine. I'm hoping Harper takes them well as we'll be going back and forth between bottles and breastfeeding too. Otherwise, I've received a couple Avent bottles as free samples that we can try next if she doesn't take to the Playtex.
@yogahhh I'm not too bothered by the popularity of Harper and I expect it will become even more popular now that Harper Lee has passed away. I think it's because my Husband's full name is one of the most common names out there (like equivalent to John Doe common) so I'm used to having a very common last name and it doesn't really bother me that much.
@ashleyla526 Happy birthday! My 30th is in just under two weeks and I ordered my own birthday cake today because when my Husband woke me up at 7:40 this morning on his way to go fishing the first thing out of my mouth other than I love you & bye was "Would it be weird to order a small wedding cake for my birthday? Because I want wedding cake."
Week / Fruit: 34/butternut squash, Savoy cabbage and cantaloupe
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: man oh man, sleeping has been sucking lately. Everything is so darn heavy. And I need a fork lift to get out of bed. I can't believe it's only going to get worse. Best case scenario, I go into labor at 38 weeks (that's when my hospital considers you full term). I'm ready for the next 4 weeks to go by soon! After that, little buddy can make his arrival at any time.
Upcoming Appointments: 3/31 for a regular check up, last one of the biweekly appointments.
Questions for the group:
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? His first name is his dad's and grandpa's name. DH wanted to make it a tradition. Whatever. I got to pick the middle name (with several vetoes from DH). His middle name is Easton which is from a country singer. Not my favorite singer or anything but I thought it was cute. DH liked it so we went with it. He'll be going by Easton like his dad and grandpa go by their middle names. If I had my way, Easton would be the first name. My poor child will have to correct people his whole life because of some dumb tradition.

@pooputtette I have three or four different kinds that I got as free samples. I think Avent, Lansinoh and Dr. Brown's. I hear never to buy too much of one in case the baby doesn't like it for some reason. We did get a few Medela since that's the pump we have so it can pump directly into them. You may want to research which bottles fit your pump. It's likely more than one brand.
Week / Fruit: 35/coconut
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Everything hurts, but hopefully I'll feel better after the chiropractor next week.
The good news in we are almost %100 ready for baby as far as supplies, clothes, etc. Just a few more things to round us out, but we're basically ready for him to arrive at any time! It's a good feeling.
Upcoming Appointments: This Thursday. We'll go over my birth plan and do the strep B swab.
Questions for the group: Nope
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose?
We have a very Italian last name, so we wanted a nice Italian first name to go with it. Giovanni and Dante were top of the list. I love both, but thought Dante was the simpler option, we just didn't have a middle name to go with it. On a whim I suggested Maverick (I'm a huge Dallas Mavericks fan). I didn't think DH would go for it, but he ended up loving it! Dante Maverick it is
If we ever have another boy we will likely still use Giovanni.
@JennyS86 I have to ask you this because you and I are the same weeks and both RCS...why is yours scheduled so early?? I'm scheduled two weeks after you on 5/23. Here in CT I know my doctor isn't legally allowed to schedule a c/s before 39 weeks. If they do then they have to go in front of a review board and explain why they took they baby out so early. (Obviously this isn't the case of it's an emergency C/s)

Rants/Raves Symptoms: The usual not sleeping great, heartburn, gas...bad bad gas.
Appointments: Tuesday 3/29 for regular OB visit.
Question for the group: I'm so freakin itchy!! My belly and my boobs itch all the time! Anyone else experiencing this? If so is there anything you're applying to your skin that actually helps?? I tried to go buy bio oil yesterday and of course it was out of stock at target.
GTKY: No name yet. Sigh. We know his middle name will be Richard after my late FIL because our successful fertility treatment that created this baby took place on what would have been FILs 70th birthday had he not passed away last January.

Thanks! Wedding cake sounds delicious! When I saw the 30 cupcakes yesterday my first thought was that I will *try* to make them last at least a week! I had three yesterday and only one so far today, so that's a win!

I'm in PA, and I didn't know some states have such formal procedures in place to protect those "early-term" babies. That is awesome! When I had a c-s with the twins at 26 weeks, my uterus was cut vertically (almost all today are done as lower transverse incisions) due to to the prematurity and malpresentation of the twins. The doctors were also worried that if they cut horizontally, they would hit a uterine artery because a preterm uterus is not as large as a full-term uterus in the lower uterine segment. After that c-s, I was told to never VBAC and if I ever had another baby, I would need a c-s around 36-37 weeks. The doctors don't want me to go into labor at all because the risk of rupture with this type of incision is about 10%. The rupture risk for a lower transverse vbac is quite low, about 1%. I don't take the decision to go before 38 or 39 weeks lightly. I did read up on the literature out there, and most recommendations for a c-s after a vertical c-s range between 34 and 37 weeks. I am glad that my OB is letting me go until 37wks and a few days! If I go into labor before the date, I will be an urgent c-s in hopes of avoiding uterine rupture.

My weakness is also that I hate to "waste" food, so I would eat ALL the cupcakes rather than throw them away. I just want you to know how well cupcakes freeze! Our friends had a b-day party for their 2 year old, and they accidentally got twice as many cupcakes. She gave us a dozen, we froze them for a week, and then had them on our twin's b-day! And they were so good!!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Just disgusting heartburn. I have woken up several times in the last few nights after throwing up in my mouth. Disregarding how foul and disgusting it is, it is also really really scary! I am taking zantac 150 x 2/day and tums as needed. My OB mentioned a third medicine last apt, and I hate to do it, but this is insane!
Names: We just threw some around, until we found one we both loved! We have a daughter already, and think the two names go together really well. Our name has lots of nickname options, and for the middle name we are using my husband's middle name. I know some people hate a male name for a girl, but the way I see it, it is just the middle name, and I think he is the best person on this earth, so things could be worse!
Rants: This is the first pregnancy where my dr adjusted my due date to correspond with an early u/s. At that u/s, we only say a gestational sac and a yolk sac. But a later 7 week u/s showed baby measuring on with the LMP and not the first u/s (more accurate to go by crown to rump, so says my tech friend). So, I could be 36 weeks and not 35. It only matters because he scheduled my induction closer to my LMP due date, and I've NEVER made it past 39 weeks. So, if we should be going by my LMP and not my adjusted due date, then I won't make it to the induction (I'd be 39 wks 4 days). It's just irritating. I'm thinking baby will be here sometime between the 3rd and the 17th of April. If I make it to the 22nd for the induction, I will be shocked.
Raves: Baby is head down! She's now sticking her butt to my left side and stretching her feet out straight to the right side. It kills. Baby is also measuring a week ahead of the adjusted due date (another reason I think we should go by LMP).
Symptoms: Tons of contractions, hard closer to labor like contractions. I keep having more where I need to tell the people around me to stop talking. My earliest baby came at 37 weeks exactly…so it's crunch time. I should probably pack my hospital bag soon.
Upcoming Appointments: The 6th. We'll check to make sure she's still head down since she's been flipping around quite a bit the last two months. GBS test at that point, too.
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? No name, yet.
NB817
The plan is to cut me horizontally in a lower transverse incision. If there is too much scar tissue, who knows what will happen! no really, it should be a regular c-s
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: feeling pretty great, strangely enough! The baby has been getting tons of hiccups that I feel really low the last few days - he has always been transverse and still was as of my appointment last Thursday. I'm interested to see if he has moved at my U/S next Wednesday. Hiccups felt higher before but who knows.
Upcoming Appointments: April 6 (it's almost April and then May!!)
Questions for the group: nope
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? We chose the name right after we found out it was a boy. DH and I always loved the FN and then the MN is a family name from DH's side.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Just getting harder to sleep due to cramping in knees and hips (calf cramps went away, yay!). Still enjoying all the crazy movement, but the hiccups will be much cuter when she's OUTSIDE of my body!
Upcoming Appointments: Next Wednesday...not exactly sure what we will be doing though. We did the growth scan last week and also a NST (even the nurse was confused as to why we were doing the NST).
Questions for the group:
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? I have loved the name Brynn ever since I heard it on the Real World: Las Vegas (guilty pleasure in my early 20's) back in 2002. As soon as we found out she was a girl, MH started calling her Brynn, so I told him to pick out a middle name. He said Brynn Marie rolled off the tongue nicely, so we are going with that!
@pooputtette I am giving the Medela bottles a go...I hope she likes them!
@yogahh Our hospital tour was very basic too, and it was as little disappointing. On my hospital website, I saw where you can schedule a private tour with a nurse, so maybe those are a little more detailed...I wish I would have seen that before now. Ours was a group tour (with only one other couple).
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: No rants, no raves, just symptoms: Freckles. Lots and lots of freckles. Seriously, wtf? Now? Also, getting pretty darned uncomfortable. Apparently the constant pain near my solar plexus and around my pelvic area is the feeling of my bones softening and shifting to make room for baby.
Upcoming Appointments: Just had an appointment on Friday, at which I found out I was supposed to have been scheduled for another ultrasound as a follow-up to the fetal echo. They were able to schedule me right in. Good news, though that meant that my appointment took two and a half hours when I was expecting it to take 20 minutes. But baby is 5lbs, 11oz, and my fundal measurements were a week ahead of schedule. So my EDD is now May 3, according to the paperwork, though the NP said I shouldn't take that too seriously... But the thought that baby might come early????? I'm not ready yet!
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? Still working on it. Ugh.

Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Glad you are sleeping well, and I love the sentiment behind Rose and Jade!! so sweet. She will love it.

and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: I am extremely uncomfortable at night. I sleep okay, in the way which I don't have insomnia, but I do wake up with leg pain.
Upcoming Appointments: 13 april only
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose?
I always said I wanted a boy called Alexander (Alex) and my DH was happy to go with that - no questions asked. So pretty simple story.
Thanks @ pooputtette! I will try the coconut oil. I haven't been diligent about moisturizing.
Bottles: I used the lansinoh ones last time after the dr. Browns and medela didn't work for us.
Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
And I LOVE the name you chose! So pretty!
@ashleyla526 happy birthday!
Week / Fruit: 32
We registered for Avent but haven't received any so we'll see what there is at the Parents of Multiples consignment sale in a couple weeks and decide then.
Jacqueline Lily is a gorgeous name!

Week: 33
Upcoming appts: April 4th
Upcoming Appointments: The 6th. We'll check to make sure she's still head down since she's been flipping around quite a bit the last two months. GBS test at that point, too.
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? No name, yet.
Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Week / Fruit: 34 (35?)/ Butternut Squash/Savoy cabbage
Ugh.
