@elenabrent I'm not sure how it would hold up to weather, but check Pinterest for painting fabric ideas. I believe you can add something to "regular" paint to make it fabric friendly. I know that's not incredibly helpful. It's been a while since I've seen the pin! (When I saw it, it was related to adding painted stencils to curtains.)
Something to keep in mind for FTMs. I had a colicky baby and did not think I would be baby wearing as much as I did. She hated the stroller and so we hardly used it until she was about 1. When we did, we made a scene everywhere we went. Given how much it got used, the money could have been better spent on something else had we gotten a more moderately priced stroller.
I think we're going to go with the Nuna Pipa car seat... It gets stellar reviews but I haven't seen many people who actually have it... Anyone here check it out or have used it?
@theshannondee That is what we are going with as well. One word of caution, there are actually HUGE warning labels on the sides of the carseat (by baby's head), and there are four of them, which they don't show in online pictures (unless you do a google search and look for a picture that someone else took of their child in it). The 2016, they moved the ugly stickers up higher on the carseat, and only placed two of them, so it doesn't look as bad as they are partially hidden by the canopy. I really liked the sleek look of them, until I saw those stickers. There aren't a lot of stores in my area that have them in store, but I did find a store that had them, and they are going to call me when the 2016's are in, so that way I can purchase one with the stickers more hidden. They said they think the 2016's will be out sometime in the spring. While I was checking them out in the store, a few other couples came in (and had their babies in a Nuna) and I asked a few questions and they liked them. And then I saw someone in another store with one yesterday. I think that they are less known, since they just came out a few years ago and aren't easy to find in stores.
@theshannondee The black one is a current model. The warning labels you cannot see on the right side, but they mirror the ones on the left side of the seat. They don't show those in any of the pictures online when you order, and a lot of people are ordering.....getting their carseat, and then are upset that the stickers weren't shown in the pictures before they ordered. The maroon colored one is a 2016 model. It only has two stickers, and you can see they moved them to the very top inside of the carseat.
Oh man the new one is a million times better!! Okay I will contact my Nordstom and see whats up, I am happy waiting for that change... Thank for the info!
I went with the Graco click-connect travel system and it came in this week! I put it together today and it seems really nice, sturdy, and easy to use. I tried out the modes one in store and liked it, but it was SO expensive and as a FTM who already doesn't get out much, I feel like I don't need to go all out on a stroller. The car seat is nice and light, so that's a big plus. Anyways, I found another model of the same stroller on Amazon for half the price. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it is very functional and easier to use than the one I tried in the store. Cuter too! I definitely recommend trying out different options in person and see how they feel, and price check your favorites. I found that almost everything I found at the major baby stores were really marked up compared to same brand, similar styles on Amazon and other non-baby-specific retailers. Just a tip for other bargain hunting mommas!

I did research on the travel systems since I figured that should be the easiest...I SO hope I am right...anyway, I feel in love with the Eddie Bauer TrailGuide Jogger. The customer reception has been positive! Hoping it's a good decision!
@silvers626 The information was online...there are some organizations that time in a car seat be limited to car travel for a variety of reasons (increased risks of SIDS being one). Not to say that I didn't end up purchasing a car seat adapter for my stroller, but I will limit how frequently we use the car seat.
@PhoebeJune1984@theshannondee I picked up our Nuna Pipa last weekend. It only has the 2 labels...but I have to admit I didn't notice until reading your posts my attention to detail has been lacking lately. I love how light it is. I was surprised to find out that the stability bar in the base that I have seen in the US, do not exist in Canada.
@yycmama where did you find yours?! I called my Nordstrom and Nuna and both said those won't be available until Spring.... I wonder if its due to you being in Canada?
Bumping! I'm a short momma who has to go up and down a lot of stairs every day. To make things more difficult, I have very limited use of my left hand. Anyone have suggestions for something lightweight, easy and affordable? My sister has offered us her Chicco Keyfit 30 but I'm worried it might be a bit bulky.
@yycmama are your labels up at the top of the seat? Or are they on the support pad where the baby will sit? The ones that are moved to the top are the 2016 model, so if they are up there, you probably have the newest model. Most of the online sites are showing the older versions, and the old colors...they haven't updated it yet. There are only two stores that are local that sell them (where I live), one of them being Nordstroms, and the other being a store called Posh Baby. I went down to Posh Baby and told them what I was looking for, and they were the ones that thought they wouldn't be out until spring time, but took down my name and exactly what I was looking for, so if they came before then, they could give me a call. I love the fact that it is so light, because I had a Britax Chaperone with my last child, and that sucker was over 10 pounds. It was ridiculous....especially since my daughter was over 9 pounds at birth, it was heavy with her in it.

@randypluskate I would go and check a few out in the store. The Nuna Pipa is around 7 pounds, but is on the spendy side (I don't know your budget). The Graco Snugride Classic Connect 30 is in the 7 pound range. The Graco Snugride Click Connect 35 is in the 7 pound range. I believe that the Chicco Keyfit 30 is over 9 pounds (maybe close to 10 pounds). Those pounds matter, especially if you are going up and down stairs a lot and have limited use of your hand....
I've been debating between the Nuna Pipa and the Maxi Cosi Mico Max 30. The Nuna has solid reviews...This Maxi Cosi is a newer edition but has been getting great reviews too... Any reason to avoid Maxi Cosi? It seemed easier to haul around Nordstrom's baby area than the Nuna and is $50 cheaper, but I like them both.
@randypluskate We chose the Baby Jogger City Mini. I'm 5'2" and DH is 6'8" and from wheeling it around the store, it seems to work for both of us. It also has a nice one hand fold and doesn't weight much. We are getting the adapter for the Chicco Keyfit 30. I definitely don't think it's the most lightweight one on the market but it seems like a really nice option, and most BRU have it in stock so you can see for yourself.
@PhoebeJune1984 the labels are up top. I don't believe the 2015 model was approved in Canada. Obviously I haven't tried it out with a baby yet...but I am really happy with the weight and how easy it is to install in the car and my Uppababy stroller.
The "Easter Bunny" brought us our stroller today! We got the Baby Jogger City Premier which is not widely available yet... However BRU is doing 20% off starting 4/1 on it and seems to be the only carrier besides baby boutiques. Its awesome and a hybrid between the City Versa and City Select for anyone interested in Baby Jogger. You guys convinced me that I don't need a a heavy double capable stroller for baby #1. I can't wait to actually push my dude around instead of playing in my living room.
Has anyone used a Graco 4Ever seat for an infant? DH wants to get one. My only reservation is taking baby in and out those first few months. DD slept in the car a lot as an infant and it was nice to be able to keep her in the seat and just carry the entire thing in the house. Because our infant seat has expired I am weighing the pros and cons of getting an infant seat versus the 4Ever seat. Any advice would be great!

There are a couple of ladies in my former BMB that got them for their second child (and used from birth), but they also liked to baby wear, so they felt no need to have an infant seat since they would be taking him/her out and then putting baby in a wrap or front pack. Our infant seat expired as well, and I am going with another infant seat for my car, because I do a lot of errands and want to be able to just yank the carseat out, do what I need to get done, pop it back in, and go to the my next location. However, an additional base for the carseat is $100, and I don't feel that it is worth it to spend $100 on a base, that would get used here and there, and then 10-11mo from birth, have to buy two convertible seats. So we are doing infant seat in my vehicle, and then we went with the Chicco Nextfit Zip Air for MH's truck, because it has a really deep recline for infants, and then we wont be wasting $100 on an additional base. But like I said, there are a couple of moms that really liked it (4Ever sear) for their infants.
Thank you @PhoebeJune1984 . I wore DD a lot, although not so much when we were out in the beginning because she was a winter baby. This one, wouldn't be as concerned since we would be getting through the first few months with decent weather, and I wouldn't mind putting him in a wrap. I switched DD to a convertible seat last time around 7 months - she was a chunker and looked super uncomfortable in her infant seat, which is why we were thinking we would be money ahead just to get the 4Ever seat.
I ordered this set awhile ago, it seems lightweight and like it will be easy to use and from what I read online it's really easy to install the car seat. I'm excited to use it.
