Pregnant after IF

January/February IVF success group :)

Re: January/February IVF success group :)

  • @laur2444 I'm feeling fine. Had a few cramps this morning but other than that, normal. TMI but did you have any discharge after your transfer?
  • @minnie1155 I just had my 1st OB appt and I went alone. Although I've been an established patient of the practice, I am a new OB patient so it was just answering a lot of questions in regards to how I am feeling, check my vitals and weight, draw blood and a Pap smear. Many of the questions about DH were in regards to his lifestyle and overall health. Nothing I couldn't answer and we were sent paperwork prior to my appt so he answered all the questions about his family history.  I am considered AMA because I will be 35 at time of delivery so I was offered the genetic screening at 11 weeks. no ultrasound this time around and I won't hear my LO heartbeat until my next appt in 4 weeks. I'll be 13wks then.

  • @alexiskiriluk congratulations! I stayed home after my transfer because I needed to be close to a bathroom. After drinking all that water, I was going every hour! But afterwards I resumed normal activity and returned to work the following day.
  • @alexiskiriluk every RE is different mine said bed rest day off and after transfer.

Im a little worried today. At 10weeks I took a basic genetic test to see the risks of down and other chromosome abnormalities. I won't be 35 yet at delivery so they wouldn't give me the really good DNA genetic test because I wasn't considered high risk.
Test came back normal with the exception of PAPP-A was a little low. The nurse said this is common with IVF patients (although they don't know why) but it increases the chances of Down syndrome to 5%.

Now they are going to give me the 99% accurate DNA test I originally asked for but I have to wait 7-10 days for results.

This is whole time I have been worried about everything because after so many years of IF its hard to not feel like this is too good to be true.
  • @Selena2016 I hope you hear good news from the test.  I haven't been scheduled for the genetic screening yet but I'm a little worried as well. You get excited to reach one milestone and now you learn there's more to worry about. my OB also informed me that I will have to do a fetal echo at 24weeks because of the associated risk with IVF patients.
  • Sorry to bug with questions again but I was wondering if you PIO symptoms all of a sudden got worse or could I maybe having good symptoms. I have been dizzy for the past day and feeling off. I am 4sp6dt. I'm sure I'm reading into it but thought I would ask the pros ;-)
  • @alexiskiriluk I feel like during my tww the only noticeable symptom I had was a dull headache on and off and super vivid dreams (which I am still having every night!) everyone is so different though! Tomorrow I will be 10 weeks and still barely feel pregnant! It's so crazy! I guess I'm super lucky but it leaves me so skeptical! Lol when is your beta?!!
  • @laur2444 It sounds like you're one of the lucky ones! 10 weeks was when I started feeling great, which then, of course, made me nervous! I also had and still have crazy vivid dreams. I kinda love that part though since I don't normally remember my dreams.

  • 10 weeks today! Went to the doctor and got the results back from my blood tests and the glucose test (to determine risk of gestational diabetes) and everything looks good and normal . My parents are in town so they came with with me and DH to my appointment and got to see their first grandchild on the ultrasound and hear its heartbeat.  :)  going to do the genetic testing next week and go back for another ultrasound in 2.  <3

  •  @riveridgional good to know that ten weeks was when you started feeling good, gives me some hope! I'm 8 weeks 5 days and the past couple weeks have been awful with nausea and food aversions. I can't wait to be able to eat more than just crackers and other carbs. I always feel like I shouldn't complain, because I am so grateful as to why I'm having these symptoms, but I will be happy when they are done!

@morningstar80 great news! How special for your parents to be there too!
  • @Morningstar80 How exciting for both you and DH and your parents! I'm glad to hear you are doing well!!

  • @laur2444 we are heading to florida this week so i will not get my beta until the 28th but I should be on Saturday. But, I POAS tonight and it was positive!!! So maybe the symptoms were not just the meds!!! im going to call my doctor, he may let me come in Thursday before I leave??
Hoping for a healthy high beta. Feeling relieved that I did PGS and hoping for the best.
  • Ahhhhhhhh I hope it's a real positive @alexiskiriluk!!!!! Keep us posted as soon as you hear anything!!! That's funny we are in Florida right now! My in laws have a condo in Naples so we are here for the week! Usually dinners are crazy expensive, but the lack of me drinking has been such a huge discount!! Lol don't worry though, I'm making up for it with nightly ice cream! :)
  • @laur2444 it's a FRER and it's clearly pink and there. Also it was an night time pee, I'm pretty sure it's real!! Now it just need to keep going!!! We are in Palm Beach so on the opposite side of the state!! Yes, dinners are much cheaper without the drinking

3/9   U/S#1 (6w2d) - Yolk sac and heartbeat!!! Woo hoo!!!
    3/23 U/S#2 (8w1d) - Fetal length measuring 1.79cm. Heart beat 170bpm. Sounded like a little steam engine! Due date November 1, 2016

  • Got back from my second U/S in high spirits!!! The lil champ was puffing away like a steam engine at 170 bpm and measured 1.79 cm. Currently 8w1d per fetal measurement (1 day behind, per egg retrieval which is usually in the uncertainty), due date was confirmed as Nov 1. We had a chat with RE about NIPT. He recommended Panorama test by Natera. Apparently, this screening can be conducted as early as 9w. I am scheduled for a blood draw on March 31.

  • At 8w4d we officially graduated from our RE! Never thought that day would come. Our babies are growing like weeds with HBs of 163 and 174 respectively and both measuring 8w6d. We are thrilled and finally starting to relax. DW is back to eating carbs after being on Ketosis for 6 months as requested by RE to get pregnant. She's been slowly reintroducing them for about a week or so. She's eating a lot better now and feeling a lot less sick as long as she takes the prescribed vitamins for morning sickness.

On Tuesday we go to our first prenatal appointment with the Perinatal specialist. It's highly recommended that anyone carrying multiples sees one but DW also has a blood clotting disorder so she'll be much more closely monitored. The appointment is expected to take 2hrs. Woozier.

It's starting to feel like we have a handle on how to manage the morning/all day sickness, the amount she needs to be eating and drinking and the exhaustion. I can tell for the most part she's feeling better.

    Hope everyone is doing well!!

  • We graduated this week from our RE! Our little guy's heartbeat was nice and strong and it's amazing how much bigger he looks after only 2 weeks from the last scan!

There were happy and sad tears. I really didn't want to leave him! We're super excited to go onto our "normal" OBGYN now though since she came highly recommended from our RE.

Have all of you come off of your progesterone in oil shots? Our RE said we could stop once I turn 10 weeks and I'm ecstatic yet slightly terrified.

Hope everyone is doing well

  • HI everyone..I wanted to stop in and hopefully join you. I was part of the Jan IVF board but we did a freeze all cycle so we didn't transfer our one embryo until March 8.. We got our BFP last saturady when we POAS and officially a the RE's on Monday.  My betas have looked great..we had three last week and then last night I started spotting..it's def not bleeding..just spotting and isn't heavy except for like a 20 min period where it still wasn't heavy but was brighter.  I of course am FREAKING out...spoke to two nurses who are both not concerned. We don't have another appointment until Friday for our first U/S..I am so anxious..anyone else have any early spotting??

I am going to try to catch up on all your posts but it's a lot
  • @rachlee2010 I'm sorry that you're spotting! We had a scare too around 6 weeks and headed to the ER because our RE advised us to since it was bright red. It ended up being a subchorionic hemorrhage which apparently is pretty common and shouldn't affect the pregnancy. Spotting can be OK during pregnancy but definitely call your doctor if you're concerned. They're used to us nervous nellies since we're mostly first time moms! Good luck and take care!

  • @rachlee2010 congrats on your BFP! I was hoping to hear from the March FET's soon!
I heard many early pregnancy stories of spotting and everything was fine. Sorry you had that scare. I'm sure you will fell better after your ultrasound. Welcome to the success board!
  • I had my beta at 9dpt. It was 138!
Hopefully I'll be over here for good!!!
    Happy easter!!!
  • We had spotting several times in the weeks 5-7. We went to our RE each time for bloodwork and an ultrasound and each time everything looked good. Are you doing suppositories? In our case they were aggravating the cervix causing blood.

We we have been told week 10 we can stop the shots. We have less than 9 days!

Congratulations @alexiskiriluk and @capps42613 !! Love hearing more good news
  • For some reason the rest of my post keeps getting cut off. I haven't been on here much so see I have some catching up to do. I get to stop the PIO at the end of the week, so I am counting down to that. I can't believe it's already almost time! I will be 10 weeks when we stop.
  • So much good news on here today!!!! Congrats to everyone!!! Keep it coming!!! I go to my first ob appt next Wednesday....I will be 12 weeks exactly. Anxious to figure out what testing we will do....what does everyone's OB recommend? We did not do any genetic testing previously on our embryo.
  • @laur2444 I had my first OB appointment last week at 8 weeks. The only testing they talked about so far was a screening for Down Syndrome which involves an ultrasound and bloodwork, and then the gestational diabetes test. They didn't seem to recommend anything, though the gestational diabetes one is mandatory.
  • Congrats @capps42613, @alexiskiriluk, @rachelee and @Selena2016on the good news!

I spoke with my OB last week when I was 10 weeks and he recommended I do an NIPT that tests for Downs syndrome, Edwards syndrome, Patau syndrome, numerical sex chromosomal abnormalities and microdeletions. He said that since we didn´t do any genetic testing on our embryos and I´ll be 36 when my LO is born, it would be a worthwhile investment (insurance does not cover it). So I´m getting my blood drawn tomorrow and the results should come back within 10 days.

On a side note, I am sooooo ready to be done with the 1st trimester. I want to start shopping for maternity wear but am too nervous to do it yet. And we are aching to share our news with a few close friends/family (my parents know) but are holding out. We haven´t told DH´s parents yet as my lovely MIL is 1) a total stress case who would stress both of us out with her constant, palpable worrying and 2) is incapable of keeping this secret from her sister (who will then tell the rest of DH´s family). And most of all I would just like to feel a little more pregnant. I mean I have been nauseated and fatigued but with a bump that looks more like an extra large lunch and not a growing human being, it still doesn´t feel 100% real. It´s like 98% real at this point. Anyone else feeling the same?

  • @Morningstar80 I feel the same way! I feel like once I have my 12 week appointment and fingers crossed get to hear the heart beat, that I will be feeling better about things. Right now sometimes I just think I'm sick with the nausea and being tired. Also can't wait for maternity clothes, I've been so bloated from hormones that my regular clothes haven't fit me comfortably since stimming with the IVF cycle but I feel like it's too soon to actually buy anything maternity. I am loving leggings and yoga pants for now!
  • Anatomy ultrasound scheduled for 5/12! Does anyone else know what they are having? I really couldn't care less the sex of the baby but knowing will make it so much more real!
  • Hi everyone! Its been awhile since I posted but I had my cell free DNA and ultrasound today and I'm officially 12 weeks!
@laur2444 I know you and I are close in dates..how are things going with you and your little one? How was your appointment?
@Minnie1155 how are you doing? Any updates? @Selena2016 I should find out next week. I know all practices are different but have you guys heard your LOs heartbeat? I've had two u/s post RE and saw the heartbeat but have yet to hear it.
