Finally got a call from the RE right before the clinic closed! All of my fertilized eggs hatched and made it to Day 3!!!! Now more finger biting until Day 5 on Wednesday!

I'm starting Cetrotide tomorrow, then appointment on Thursday. Any experiences injecting it into the thigh? i feel like my belly has enough with the Menopur and Gonal F but not sure if it would be more painful there ...

@yelllow22 I haven't taken any shots in the thigh -- but if you've made it this far with Menopur/Gonal F I think you can handle anything.
Unfortunately my appt did not go well; they canceled me after only 4 days of taking stims. The microdose lupron did nothing for me, and either that med or Ganirelix before stims has made my DOR even worse than it was before. So, back to the drawing board and try again next month by adding Clomid and subtracting the other 2 meds. I have to admit I never thought that I would not even have an ER to my name at this point. But, we soldier on ...

@yellow22 I have no experience with injecting in the thigh, but I would imagine it could not be that bad - but the my thighs are where all my cushioning goes so...

As for me: I have another saline sono with a mock transfer tomorrow. I'm hoping there are no cysts / issues from all the stimming last month. If all looks well, I will have my Lupron Depo shot next Wednesday / Thursday. I'm glad to get back into the swing of things with at least 1 apt each week now up until the FET (April 28). It has been weird these last few weeks, not visiting the clinic at all since the retrieval.

@yelllow22 I have no experience with the thigh either, but I heard that the stomach injections are supposed to be the easiest. Good luck with it and tell us how it goes!

Saline Sono / Mock Transfer went well. I do have a cyst (18 mm), if it has not gone down by Tuesday, on Thursday I will have it aspirated when I go in to have the Lupron Depot shot administered. Luckily it will not impact our schedule. So now I have two appointments next week, should make the week go by faster - though I am not excited to be put under when getting rid of the cyst.

How is everyone else doing?

@yellow22 I'm on Menopur, gonal-f and cetrotide but I've been sticking to my stomach. The thigh scares me for some reason.
AFM- Today is day ten of stims and I had s monitoring appointment today. Doc thinks everything looks good and thinks they will get a lot of eggs. She called out sizes of 10-12. Estradiol is 2120 and progesterone is 1. One more night of stims, another appointment and it looks like I will be triggering tomorrow for retrieval on Friday. I'm definitely feeling Uncomfy at this point.

I'm still playing the waiting game. After having 13 fertilized, only 2 made it to day 5! I had such high hopes for a few more. There was a 5BB and a 4BD. We had already planned on PGS, so now just praying that one of them will be normal.

Hi! New here and jumping in. I have my FET scheduled for April 15th. I started Lupron a week ago and go in for my first baseline ultrasound on Monday. We were planning a completely fresh cycle after my retrieval in February but my progesterone levels were too high to proceed. We had 11 eggs retrieved but only 4 fertilized and they opted to freeze 2 on day 3 when the other 2 stopped growing. I'm hoping this cycle works but trying to not get my hopes up too much.

@mjacks16 Sorry to hear about your embabies. Same situation happened to me. I had 13 retrieved, 10 fertilized and only one made it to freeze. It does suck but yours sound a little healthier than mine.

@irynwnab Im sorry about your cancelled cycle. Im sure they will be able to gather more info to help your follies.

@yellow22 Ive been rotating my meds from stomach to thigh. It gets too tender. They thigh isnt so bad. I do feel the menopur there.

So my retrieval keeps getting pushed. We are looking at either Friday or Saturday. My follies are being stubborn plus I only have 8.

I started with 11 on each side. So it is a bit of a bummer. I just hope we have some healthy eggs this time.

So I asked my doc about recovery after ER and he said I can go back to work the next day but that's not what I'm hearing from others who were out for a couple of days. Tomorrow I have my nurse consult to go over all the meds.

@drove2u, I really think it all depends on each person and their specific situation. I over stimmed and was down for 6 days. At day 4 I was feeling better and did a bunch of stuff trying to catch up from being on bedrest for so long, that just put me back on bedrest for a few more days. The other two girls who had retrievals (at my clinic) the same day I did bounced out of the clinic like it was nothing, they both produced less than ten follicles I believe. I would play it by ear, if you are producing lots and lots of follicles I would count on needing a little bit of time. I had 23 mature eggs harvested, 26 eggs were retrieved in total.

@drove2u and @vssbrm I find it interesting that the number of follicles seems to effect the recovery. My first IVF I have 5 follicles and 3 eggs retrieved. Recovery was a breeze. Second time I had 10 follicles with 7 eggs retrieved and it was so much harder on the recovery!

@Drove2u My clinic said expect one day of feeling sore and then resume everything the day after but they were so wrong. I laid around for about 3 days and then slowly started getting up and around again. I was still taking pain pills two days after. I had 11 mature follicles.

Oh wow!! Ok well it's good to know this. They even give you pain pills for it? Like Advil or other stuff?

@Drove2u I was given pain meds through the IV line that last a while after the surgery and I was given a extra strength tylenol (some red liquid type) as well before we left. Otherwise it is Tylenol as needed.

I was given Vicodin and then told once the pain was manageable to switch to extra strength Tylenol. I took the Vicodin for 2 days, maybe 3.... And I am a person who usually just pushes thru pain.

@drove2u - you might be able to go back the next day, I would leave it tentative just in case. You could bounce out of there as it if was a simple Pap smear or something! I did ** NOT** mean to scare you, it is different for all of us!!

My first ivf I was in bad pain that night following retrieval and the next day and night but the recent ivf I only had minor cramps here and there which I was surprised about. I got more eggs the second ivf but less pain. Strange.

Hey all. So went in for my baseline and found out I am starting stimms TONIGHT. Oh gosh... was so not prepared for that! Then to top it off, had to find out by a posted printed sign, that my doc is going to be away throughout my cycle!!! So he won't be monitoring me or doing the egg retrieval. WTF a little heads up would have been nice. I cried... couldn't help it. My anxiety is high and this is our third time at this and was really hoping to have him there throughout as I fully trust his judgement etc. Grrrr. Not ideal... not in the least. He felt pretty bad and told me I could email him and that the other doc would be in communication throughout so it is what it is. Man needs a vacation, I can get that, I just didn't like the way it was handled as an email in advance to advise would go a long way.

Anyways. Also freaking out because last minute he decided to lower my dosage.. I guess I look like I have 8-10 follicles at the moment on each side. Problem was, the philosophy is always that I have great numbers but unfortunately in the past I was a poor responder. It's still a higher dose than previous so I'm going to trust him. Last thing I want is OHSS.

Bahhh. Freakin out. Sorry for the rant. xx

@Drove2u I had 12 eggs retrieved and was sore after my ER, but it was manageable enough that I went out to eat afterwards. My doctor prescribed me Vicodin, but I didn't take it, I just took regular over the counter Tylenol and honestly only took 2 pills a day. I was still a bit sore and uncomfortable especially standing up after long periods of sitting or climbing stairs, but again it was manageable. My ER was on a Friday so I got to "rest" the weekend, but it wasn't like I was laid up in bed or anything. I came back to work Monday was still a bit sore and finally today the soreness seems to have subsided substantially. One thing I would definitely recommend though is buy a gentle stool softener like colace. Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone. I will have a wedding around my retrieval. Maybe two days before, maybe day of, maybe a day after not sure yet. So that will be interesting. And then of course there is work. I'll just wait and see. Waiting for AF to come first which should be around April 5.

Hey! Had my baseline today and have 6 follicles on right and 5 on left. I don't usually get many eggs but hoping all of these follicles grow grow grow once I start meds Saturday. @oxinfree good luck with your first night of meds!! Sorry about the doc being out. That's a bummer. I know they must be exhausted from all of the ivf and other stuff they do. Our office has small gaps between ivf cycles but they're always seeing patients even when not doing ivf. Hopefully you like the other Doctor that's stepping in.
