STM QUESTIONS

I am a STM and having some fears hopefully someone can give me advise, from personal experiences... I work an hour from home and 2 hours from work. I work about 60 hours a week and I am always busy...I know with my first daughter I went about a week over my due date and ended up leaving a work a month before I was due. This time my boss has made it clear I am only taking 12 weeks off. Starting the day I leave. so I am not asking for exact days or anything but I am almost 33 weeks now and I am feeling just drained and aches and pains more then what I remember with my first...How common is it to go early the second time? I know every pregnancy is different just seeing if anyone has statistics like with first time moms typically go late...

Re: STM QUESTIONS

  • My second was actually late!  I feel you though, I work full time and have a rough commute.  Good luck!

  • I was working 55+ hours with this pregnancy and my OB put me on modified bed rest just to get me out of work. I'm high risk but my boss wouldn't allow me to work less hours so that was my OB's solution. I don't know if that's an option for you or not but, just a thought. I have an hour commute each way too.

  • Every baby is different. I really don't think it's something you can predict. Work has been hellish for me too and I'm counting down the days (28 working days and counting) since I have a scheduled c-section. I'd really like for baby to wait until that date, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be ok with anytime after 38 weeks... So ready to have a nice long break from work insanity!

  • My first came on her due date and my second was 2 days late. With the 2nd I was 3cm for a couple weeks before I went into labor
  • My midwife said those with longer first gestations tend to repeat it, while the same is not necessarily true for those who go early.

  • My first was born at 42 weeks and I was finally induced.

My 2nd came fast and furious and she was born at 39 weeks.

I had a desk job when pg w/my 1st.  I felt awesome and worked until I was a few days late.  My 2nd pg I felt much more 'used'.  I was on my feet more w/a part time job that involved more standing and chasing around a 3 year old.
