How to Announce on Easter?

We decided to announce to our families on Sunday as we're hosting Easter dinner and both sides of the family will be there.

Ive googled ideas but just not finding any I love. I want to do something somewhat subtle and see who pics up on it. For example, I was considering dying Easter eggs all orange and black for Halloween. Or having a cake with 3 peeps (one for me, DH, and DD) and a jelly bean for this new bean. I'm just not sure those two are obvious enough.

DD will be in her Easter dress, so I don't particularly want to do the big sis shirt.

Really appreciate any ideas!

What about dying the eggs pink and blue? I wouldn't catch on to orange and black.

You could do a couple options with the cake...have a "pregnant" bunny (sideways profile) drawn on with the little jelly bean on its belly. And/or write "Some Bunny's Expecting!" You could also decorate with strictly pink and blue eggs, or pink and blue Hershey's kisses. It's a lot of pink and blue options but those are usually the most relatable baby colors!

Have a side dish of jelly beans in the living room with a little placecard that says "Shh.. don't spill the beans but we're pregnant!!!" See who picks up on it first.

Or pass out nice "easter eggs" as napkin holders / name cards.. and when they open it is a message like a fortune cookie. Have everyone open theirs at the same time.

We're doing Easter with my parents and sister too. DS is opening his Easter basket with them and I'll have a "big brother" shirt in there. They'll be surprised when he pulls it out.

Honestly, if I saw orange and black eggs, I'd just think you had really weird taste in egg dye. Making the connection that you're expecting a baby in October just wouldn't happen.

People are rarely as interested in our lives as we believe them to be. I'm a big fan of the direct, "Guess what! We're expecting!"

I think it depends on the people. My aunts, uncles and cousins probably wouldn't care, but my parents, mother-in-law and my sister have been hinting that I should have another kid, so they'll be excited with my silly little announcement. There's no harm in trying to do something special to tell the important people in your life about something that is about to change your life.

Fill plastic eggs with treats and one with the US. Play a game with the family to find the eggs and see who gets the lucky one!

Exactly what @ignoscemihi said. Our family will care.
Maybe not as surprising/big of a deal as with our first, but would still like to do something fun.

This is how I want to announce this weekend. I want to tell the grandmas that I have copies of their Easter Bunny photos to hand out. Any tweaks I should do?

Ok so ended up going a different route. I'm working at a pharmacy today in a grocery store and was walking past the bakery and they had really cute spring /Easter cakes. I ordered one with 2 bunnies (for me and DD), a duck (for DH), and a little plastic thing that says "baby." I'm gonna put it out at dessert time!

Tape a copy of your ultrasound to a bunny and let it loose at brunch.

(Sorry. I know that's not helpful in the slightest but it's stuck in my head every time I see this thread title and it's cracking me up. Had to get it out of my system.)

I'm making these cookies and just putting them out after everyone arrives and letting it work itself out. I'm looking forward to see who picks up on it right away and who just grabs a cookie and starts eating. I stole it from pint rest. I'm not very original to come up with my own idea.

Have you had a sonogram? Put one of the pics in a plastic egg that your daughter will open. Or something else in an egg that will signal, "hey they're having a baby!"

We are surprising my family by going to our family's Easter luncheon. I've ordered a professional cake to be done with a tree trunk and little pastel colored flowers around it, but on top of it a little baby with bunny ears and mini baby pumpkins with fall leaves and a little sign "October 2016", this is what I'll set on the table in front of me...then see who figures it out first!!
