Mamas who know the sex: Was your intuition right or wrong?

Feed my curiosity!

My results from my DNA test will be back sometime next week, and I'm dying to know what I'm having. For those of you who have found out, was your guess right? Did you have a feeling it was boy or girl, or no idea?

  • Mine was right both times - but I had a 50/50 shot at being right ;)

  • Right first time. Wrong last two! Thought for sure my last two were boys but I'm just meant to be a girls mama

  • We have two daughters and I'm thinking this time it's a boy, but I can't tell if that's my intuition talking or just wishful thinking LOL. Guess I'll find out soon!
  • I was right, I thought I was having a boy and I am.  I was wrong my first time around though...I thought boy and had my little girl

  • I don't know the sex of this baby yet, but with my daughter my intuition was super strong that she was a girl. I never doubted myself for a moment; right from the get-go I felt very strongly that she was a girl (again, 50/50 chance of being right, ha). This one... I haven't had a strong feeling either way. At first I thought boy, but then I thought girl, and then I wondered if I thought girl just because I HAD a girl. So I really have no clue. This one's a mystery to me.

  • My intuition was very strong with DS. I seriously just knew he was a boy, to the point where when they said he was a boy during the ultrasound, it was like they were telling me something I already knew! It was crazy.

This time around I initially thought girl, now I am thinking boy kind of...I don't have a strong feeling this time! This pregnancy has been the complete opposite of my first, but I know plenty of people who had totally different symptoms and had the same sex baby. This one is keeping me guessing! I am curious to find out in a couple more weeks!

  • This pregnancy seems so much different, which makes me wonder, but then again that could mean absolutely nothing. I feel like I was more bloated and my skin was breaking out with my girl, and I feel pretty good (now that ms has let up) and my skin is really dry this time. Small differences, but who knows.
  • I was wrong with my first. I was convinced I was having a boy, and she is a girl. I'm leaning towards this one being another girl, but it'll be 5 weeks until we find out if I'm right.

  • I find out 2 weeks from today but I have a very strong feeling its a boy. I can't wait to find out

  • FTM here, what do you mean when it feels like a girl or boy?  I have no strong feelings of anything other than well something is going on in my body lol.  I've started to get asked if it feels like a boy or girl a lot and have no idea what people are talking about.
  • I was dead wrong lol. I didn't have a feeling either way with my DD but this baby the pregnancy has been SO different, I just knew it was a boy! It was a good thing I was already laying down when the ultrasound tech said girl is all I can say!
  • I had a feeling it was a boy, especially as everyone thought it was a girl. They just didn't sound right haha. I was right!
  • FTM and the minute I seen two pink lines on the pee test I knew in my gut that I was carrying a boy.  I know its 50/50 regardless but I could only think of boy names, I would slip and call the baby a he/him. I dreamt of having a baby boy twice during my first trimester.  I found out last week I was indeed carrying a boy.

For a week I was doubting myself only because my mom was saying I was carrying a girl and my mom is NEVER wrong. One of the things that would piss me off growing up.  She has only been wrong once before this and that was when she said my boyfriend, now Husband and baby daddy, wasn't going to become a "man". 9 years later she and him have a better relationship than I do with her. Now she has been wrong twice!

    I completely believe in intuition!

  • @jhems776 for me, "feeling" like my daughter was a girl was just this... Feeling. I don't know how else to describe it, LOL. The best way I can explain it is that it felt off or wrong to refer to the baby as a boy. When I would talk about her, I would say "she" without hesitation. When I dreamt of her, she was a girl. It just felt like I had a girl growing inside me. That is the best way I can explain it. I didn't think for a second that she was anything but a girl.

^this is how I feel!! I've had dreams, picture a girl, and say she. I made my first baby purchase... It's for a girl! (We're team green so I'll get some boy things too.) But I try to hold back doing all that in case I'm wrong. Will let you know in 27 weeks!

  • I don't know if it was a feeling or just hope that this one would be a girl, and she is.  Although this pregnancy has been completely different than my boys.

  • I didn't have a feeling with either pregnancy. I thought this one was another girl simply because my symptoms were identical. It's a girl. I keep telling DH that I must be birthing DD's twin 3 years later because this pregnancy is so similar.

  • With DS I felt like he was a boy. With DD I really thought she was a boy, so I was wrong with her. I feel super strongly that this baby is a girl. We will find out Friday!
  • Wrong! Thought girl, got another boy! Healthy is all that matters to me!

jhems776  Based on what your gut is telling you. Some people have no idea, but some women swear they just knew, others have fun guessing based on old wives tale. I just think it's fun to hear others experiences.
  • I felt it from the second I saw the pink lines and I was correct both times. Probably just chance but pretty fun to think about!

  • I agree! I'm really thinking boy this time around, so it will be interesting to see if I'm right.

I have 2 boys. I was sure my first was a boy. And with my second I didn't have much of a feeling. I had convinced myself by the end that he was a girl since there were some differences in the pregnancies.  This time my pregnancy has similar symptoms to both pregnancies so I have no idea probably another boy. But it's fun to picture a girl for 9 months
My husband really wants to find out the sex but I don't want to at all.

I don't know that I believe in intuition but I definitely have a feeling. If you ask my feelings, they'll tell you I'm 100% sure I'm having a girl; if you ask my rational mind, it'll tell you I can't know either way, 50/50 chance and all that.

I feel certain that it's a girl but I'm obviously not certain, if that makes any sense. I've thought it was a girl since week 6 and just keep getting more convinced. I really only look at girl things at the store and constantly dream about having a girl. I really don't care either way but I've told DH that it would be funny if it ends up being a boy because I'd be able to laugh at myself for being so silly.

    ETA: we'll know on Saturday!

  • I was right with ds. I just knew he was a boy. This one I have a strong feeling it's a girl and this pregnancy has been completely different. We'll see in a few months :)
  • I was wrong with this one but right with my first.  I was so convinced this one was a girl bc this pregnancy couldn't be more different than my first! But alas, both boys!

I was wrong. I spent basically the entire time "feeling" like I was going to have a boy. I even had dreams about having a boy. But it's a girl. I'm happy either way. :)

  • I was right with my first two (girl then boy) but with my third I had nothing "telling me" she was a girl. This time, I'm definitely thinking it's another girl. Almost enough to make me want to find out the sex for sure at the anatomy scan even though I really want to be team green! :P

  • We were right the first time. I over-thought it and went against my intuition because I really was hoping for a boy. The day before we found out the sex, something in me knew there was no denying it was going to be a girl. Listen to your gut.

Ha! These are so fun to hear. I have been thinking boy for weeks, but now that we will be finding out sometime next week, I'm less and less sure. We won't do a reveal party, but since this is our last I want to do something fun for my husband. Thinking matching shirts if it's the boy he's been dreaming of, or a pink onesie that says "Why stop a good thing?" Hahaha. I'm still working on a perfect phrase.
  • I had absolutely no intuition about the sex, excited to be expecting a boy.
  • I thought I was having a girl with both of my pregnancies and I have 2 boys. I'm assuming boy this time, pretty sure I'll be a mom of 3 boys and I'm excited for it.
I will say this pregnancy has been so different than my last two, and I'm beyond sick of people saying "oh that means it's a girl, it's most definitely a girl, you want a girl don't you?" THAT DOESNT MEAN IT'S A GIRL!! Do people really not realize every pregnancy is different? (End rant).
  • @SaraJuul HA!!! I'm with you on the "You are sick a lot so it must be a girl " from people that don't know it's a boy. Both me and a good friend are pregnant with boys and are super sick. Our other friend is pregnant with a girl and guess who is feeling the best? She is! lol.
  • FTM here! I have a strong feeling that I'm having a boy. DH wants a boy too. Either way we will hopefully find out tomorrow!
