FFFC - 3/18/16

Re: FFFC - 3/18/16

  • We went grocery shopping at a new place today, called Aldi. We are trying to cut as many corners as we can for a while when it comes to money spending and I am in love with this place. With the amount of food we got we normally would've spent around $200, we only spent around $120!

Also I bought a bag of starburst jelly beans after reading this thread. I think most of my cravings come from the bump.
I love Aldi,  they have a great selection and are expanding the organic stuff they offer.  Still have to go to a regular grocery store for a few items they don't carry

  • I have no idea how sahms know what day it is. I've been off since Wednesday and I haven't had a clear idea of what day it is since!
I truly only know when it is Monday because DH leaves for work. Sometimes he works from home and it throws off my whole schedule and I think it's the weekend. I usually figure out the weekday by my DVR. Ohhh Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Dance Moms is on... must be Tuesday!

  • @bananers I believe it is just called "babynames". The app logo is yellow with a big white egg.

Yes it is. We used it too but it's kind of finicky and you see multiple names a lot of times and there is no way to filter by style. Just boy/girl/neutral.

This might make me a bad feminist, but... I do not want to work while pregnant any more. I want to stay home and decorate my nursery, eat healthy meals while reading baby books, and generally putz around with a serene look on my face at all times. I believe this is called "nesting" and I really think that's what I should be doing these days, career be damned. This whole "having it all" thing is for the birds.
Lurking from July but just wanted to say that wanting to stay home or not wanting to work (or vice versa) doesn't make you a bad feminist or anti-feminism. True gender equality, pro-feminism, and being a feminist in general means that all of those options are available to us and free from the judgement of others or judgment from society. Nest away :)

My fffc...I absolutely love the name Nixon for a boy and have gotten so many negative comments about it. I guess if I paid more attention in history I would know more about or care more about the president Nixon, but I don't so the name doesn't make me think of anything bad at all. Now I have to think of something else (if we have a boy) because everyone keeps telling me I can't do that to a child and he will get picked on all through school, etc.

It's your baby.  Name him whatever you want and do not feel pressured by people or history to sway from a name you really like.
