I had a friend with the name in college and she would get compliments on her name frequently. It became a running joke in our sorority because it happened so frequently.
This spelling always throws me off because 1) I've only ever known Kara's and 2) cara means face in Spanish. Nothing wrong with Cara as it is an accepted spelling, but my first thought is still that it's misspelled.
I also question the pronunciation. I tend to say Car-ah, but have heard the other way. She will probably have to correct herself a lot. Kind of like the name Lana, I have two different friends and one goes by La-na and the other Lan-A.
It's my name! Pronounced Care-ah, but yes, I do have to correct people. I don't really mind and I like my name. I know a Kara as well, pronounced the same, I prefer the C spelling.
All of the Cara's in my area pronounce it Care-uh. The only Car-uh that I have heard, was on Real Housewives of OC, and every time they said her name...it threw me off.
I like it and WAY prefer it to Kara and even Cora. I think either pronunciation is legit and o would expect to have to correct people. I like the car-uh pronunciation.
Like Cara and would pronounce it care-uh. Have a Kara in our family. She pronounces it car-uh, and she must constantly correct people who call her care-uh.
I don't mind it, but personally, I'm choosing not to name my children names that could be to pronounced multiple ways madeLIN vs MadeLINE, care-uh vs CAR-uh etc. also, names with similar alternatives. I've worked with a Kristin, Kirsten, Krysta and Kyrsten and no one could get their names straight or pronounce them right.

I love it. I always pronounced it Care-uh until the actress/model Cara Delevigne showed up and became my girl crush! Lol so now when I see it I think Car-uh, which I think is more unexpected and pretty. I think it's a solid choice for sure!
My best friend's name is Cara and I love it but DH didn't want to name our girl the same as our friend. We are naming our new LO Keira (keer-uh) because we love that name too
