  • @kmalls I was more of a lurker on that board. The Bump still intimidated me back then!  Its great that we were all able to get pregnant again so quickly! I'm going to take this as a good luck sign for the 3 of us.  ;)

@simcal18 Could you do the ultrasound with your H either this weekend, or next week Friday, the 25th? It sounds like your H needs some time to relax and probably vent a bit after his awful business trip.
So I double-checked the time of my ultrasound next Saturday and it turns out it's not until 3:30, so I should be able to do both brunch and the ultrasound that day.  I spoke to DH last night and he understandably was not thrilled about trying to cram an ultrasound in Friday afternoon, and I completely understand and respect that, especially since there's no conflict with the Saturday appointment.  The problem is that I'm realizing that my issue wasn't so much the scheduling conflict -- it's that I would rather go to the nice ultrasound place than the in-house radiology department where I'm scheduled.  I have a tilted uterus and so often I need a TV ultrasound to really see what's going on in there, and I don't know if they have that capacity where I'm scheduled.  I got the impression it was just one of those little handheld machines.  Also my midwife mentioned that we might not be able to see a heartbeat -- but shouldn't we be able to see a heartbeat at 8 weeks with a decent ultrasound machine (especially when they're dating me at 9)?

I should probably just call my OB's office for clarification on the ultrasound capabilities that they have in-house and request that my appointment be moved if they don't at least have TV capability, which I think they'd be willing to do.  I don't know if the fancy ultrasound place has Saturday openings, but DH should be home the week after next so hopefully we could find something that works if not.

  • @Julia70286 We passed our loss EDD on Leap Day a few weeks ago and I can relate--leading up to it I wasn't as focused on it, since this pregnancy (thankfully) was just taking all of my focus, but that day it hit me like a tsunami and there were so many confusing emotions. Your plan for the tree to honor your son is such a beautiful idea, and I love the way you envision your LO sending you reassurance--I feel the same way! xoxo

@ejmo68 SO happy for you!!! I cried--more like full-on wept--when we heard the heartbeat for the first time, too. I don't even think it had hit me how much fear I was carrying around until it turned into relief! <3

@krzyriver @mrszoess I was a May16 mama, too! I thought you guys were familiar. I was super active on that board until the loss, and I still miss those ladies. I pop in occasionally just to see how they're doing.
Me too! Me too..look at all of us back together again and hopefully with our rainbow babies!

  • Waiting for my appointment on Tuesday is torture. My worst fear is a MMC so naturally, EVERYTHING is a sign of impending doom. I just wish I could fast forward and get it over with.

@ejmo68 I'm so glad you're appt went well! I anticipate lots of tears on Tuesday as well.

  • 1. How far along are you? 10 weeks exactly today.

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I have an appointment on 3/23 where I am hoping that my doctor will get me scheduled for a cerclage and to see a high-risk obgyn at least bi-weekly.  I lost my last daughter at 21 weeks due to chorioamnionitis which may have been a result of IC.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I love my husband, but I do not like him right now.  I'm snapping his head off left an right.  I feel sorry afterwards.  I am ranting and raving about orgasms in my sleep.  I've now had a few very vivid sexual dreams that cause me to orgasm, which wakes me up.  I'm just afraid of the crampy feeling I get afterwards.  It's a beautiful spring day, sunshine, blue skies, and I've had both orange juice and apple juice this morning, and that makes me very happy.

    4. GTKY: What's the best thing about where you live? I'm close to all of my family and friends, within an hour from all of them.  It gives me a good sense of security.
  • @simcal18 I'm glad you can make your original appointment with your H, and still see your friends! That makes total sense about wanting to go to a nice ultrasound place. Hopefully your original place can do a TV ultrasound.

They should definitely see a heartbeat at 8 or 9 weeks. We saw the heartbeat at 6w5d (with TV), we couldn't hear it, but you could see it beating on the screen.

I hope everything works out, and I hope they do a TV so you can see the heartbeat!!
