We are going to Ikea this weekend to pick up some furniture! Yaay! We are doing a Harry Potter theme, but I am trying to rein my MIL in. I was thinking just like little details... a map on the wall, a snitch in a bottle lamp, marauders map blanket on the rocker, grey stars rug. My MIL wants to like deck it out HP... but she doesn't even have a good understanding of HP. For instance yesterday I was asked if Harry shoots arrows... no he doesn't. Basically I keep sending her pics and I am like "This is what we want". She is visiting in two weeks to help put together furniture and hang stuff on walls. I am excited, but very nervous to what she is going to bring with her.
I've decided to do a woodland animal theme (bunnies, foxes, deer, frogs, owls, etc). I think it's classic, not-too gendered, and I should be able to find neat things at different stores.
Now all I have to do is clear all the stuff out of that room! It's currently our guest room/general storage room and it's filled with wedding stuff, camping gear, reference books and a bunch of my out of season/don't fit right now clothes.
We did a Harry Potter theme with ours! I wanted it to look more like Dumbledore's office and not super cartoonish. We're putting a recliner under the shelf and an owl in the birdcage. I got the letters from Etsy!
