10 weeks today and I am so darn tired!!!  Growing brains is hard work. My nausea has been pretty mild lately so that's a plus.

  • @ladyshark311 have you tried head and shoulders? That's what I use, I've noticed my scalp is more dry than usual but it does work wonders.

  • @LGW2015 I will give it a whirl, would do anything at this point!
  • 11w3d and noticing and increase in appetite. I never had morning sickness but was having some bad food aversions. Hopefully a sign of all good things!

  • Constipation has hit hard this week, started Tuesday. I upped my fiber and drank a coffee today, hoping something will help. If not, I'm gonna have to take softener. I really don't want to though, but this bloat is horrible and I'm so uncomfortable. The nausea is still here and doesn't seem to be lightening up. Is it the 2nd trimester yet???

  • I jinxed myself :( been on the verge of throwing up all morning so far. I want to cry. Actually I take that back, I've been crying :(

  • @rozANDbenSINCE2001 my in-laws are making corned beef at our house for dinner tonight and I'm dreading going home and smelling the smell of it cooking all day :( I already told my husband to keep the windows open all day.

In other news, my nausea has been better the last two days which is nice but then it also makes me worried that the baby is ok and it also makes me dread it coming back because now I remember how great it is to not be on the verge of puking all day. Sigh... is it 2nd tri yet????

  • Has anyone had breakthrough bleeding? I had some for 1 1/2 days at the 4 week mark and now, at the 8+5 I've had some going on 2 days now. I've read and been told by several people that it's not unusual since this is about the time my period would have been due. I just feel weird about it. I keep grabbing my boobs to check if they're still sore. Yesterday they were, but today nothing. I still get nausea from time to time, mostly when I haven't eaten in a few hours. I think I'm thinking too much about it though.
  • I cry almost every day for some reason or another. Some days it's a liitle sob here and there. Other days it's nearly all day. And I feel bad about being such a cry baby which then makes me cry even more.
  • @lilylover27 I am with you on the increasing appetite, but on a parallel track my nausea/constant carsick feeling/night heaving and puking have all continued to increase, so when they ease up I'm just RAVENOUS and then later I regret it. Such a rollercoaster!

@von1976 THIS--we are definitely in the same boat. For some reason mornings through midday are the safest times for me (more like low-level carsick that can be curbed with mellow food, rather than nausea) but at night it gets monstrous. I've had a few nights when within about 15 minutes of crawling into bed, after whimpering for a while from the indigestion/heartburn/nausea feeling, I find myself racing to the bathroom to be sick. :( Here's hoping it eases up soon, though I do still weirdly find it all so reassuring!

Also with you on the indecipherable blump...at my last appointment my midwife said my uterus was definitely popping up, even though it's a little early (she attributed it to the 'warm up' effect from my first pregnancy, which I've since surpassed length-wise), but between bloat and probably some extra belly fat from eating so many bland processed carbs, all I know is that I'm grateful for elastic waistbands!!
  • @stephanieslushif it isn't heavy period like bleeding I wouldn't be too concerned, but you can always call your doctors that's what they are there for! I called when I had brown spotting because it worried me and they just had me come in for an ultrasound to make sure everything is ok. My doctor told my spotting is fine and sometimes occurs for the whole pregnancy for some women. If you're worried just give the doctor a call, worst they can tell you is that it is fine and normal or ask you to come in! Worth the piece of mind in my opinion.

  • Well, my symptoms pretty much went away. Still sore boobs, but energy has increased, barely any nausea anymore. I know it's totes normal but... good thing US was today. Gave me peace of mind so I can relax and enjoy the fact that food is actually my friend right now.
Also, skinny me would have been concerned that I lost 4 lbs in the first tri. Overweight me is relieved.
  • Welp, 8.5 wks and I finally actually threw up.

I've had mild nausea for the past couple of weeks and I thought that was as bad as it would get. Sat down to lunch feeling a little nauseous, but I was able to eat, and drank a sprite and had a Tums to settle my stomache.

I was craving something sweet so I went and got orange dreamsicle sorbet, figured that should make my tummy happy. Felt a little tickle in the back of my throat like I had to cough. NOPE. Vomit. In the car. With like no warning. Dreamsicle everywhere.

So I'll be avoiding dairy for a little while.

  • @CaptainPhasma I keep a large plastic cup in my car "just in case." Luckily I have not had to use it. All puking has been in my own bathroom. I fear the day I have a public puking incident.
  • Nausea is easing up just a little bit, feeling like I can eat more, but when I can't finish a meal yet, just take a few bites. I also guess I slept on my hip wrong last night because it's been hurting so bad today! Like muscle pains, my left hip. So odd. First US tomorrow!! :-) so excited and nervous. Will be 7W5D, I'm 7W4D as of today. Excited to ask the Dr all of my worrisome questions

  • CaptainPhasma I feel your pain! The nausea/vomiting in the car is especially horrible. I found that having a small package of Glad HandySacks in my purse and in the car saved me from a lot of car clean up :(

  • Puking while driving sucks, although the cups/bags do make the aftermath easier to deal with! I never thought I'd develop a hierarchy of preferred places to throw up...
  • @uponastar16 I have the same heirarchy for my diarrhea issue lol
  • Well, the 2 weeks of vomitting/nausea induced carb-only diet has finally caught up to me. I cannot go to the bathroom and it's driving me insane. Tomorrow I'm eating some vegetables no matter how much I want to gag.
  • 10 weeks this week. I guess MS has decided to peak this week. I told FI tonight before leaving for work. I am reqdy to quit eating and sleeping, just because everytime I do either I get so nauseous. Although it's intensified if I don't eat and sleep more often than usual. The nausea wouldn't be so bad if I could just puke and male myself feel better, But I can't. It's payback for all the times I was worried about not having symptoms.. they have definitely a back with a vengeance and I love it

  • my middle of the night nausea/hunger has shown up. it's 430 and I just had half a bagel while my husband snores.
  • @mrszoess I'm tempted to go to the grocery store right now to get bagels and cream cheese...
  • I'm sorry @uponastar16 !! just woke up craving anything I'm ravenous. I hope this ends soon lol
  • @mrszoess I was up at like 3 am every morning during week 9 eating a bagel and cream cheese. Lol. If I waited, the nausea was unbearable in the morning. Now at 11 weeks I'm able to hold off until about 8am but it's hard to do.

@babymamamegs also said she didn't have an appointment til like 9 weeks. Something's fishy here....

I'm so glad I'm not the only one side-eyeing this one....
  • And, I thought I wouldn't say anything because maybe it could be an honest naive mistake but even after being corrected, someone's personal info is still up on the ultrasound posted...

Which is the only reason I didn't QFP the photo once things got a little weird.
  • something smells funny and it's not bc my nose is hyper sensitive....
  • I'm 11w6d and sorry if this is TMI but you know the crust that sometimes accumulates in nipple nooks and crannies? Welp, mine smells like breast milk. Yes, I smelled my nipple crud that I freed in the shower. Also most of the first trimester nasties have subsided for me: fatigue and nausea are mostly gone. I am totally ravenous when I wake up in the morning but can hardly eat after the sun goes down.

I'm 9w6d and what few symptoms I've had are now gone. My boobs haven't been sore for around 4 days, which was my only consistent symptom. The soreness has tapered off before, but it's usually only gone for a day. I'm still a little gassy, but I honestly can't tell if it's more than before I got pregnant. I haven't had any bleeding or cramping, but I fear a missed miscarriage.

Do you guys think I should ask my doctor to squeeze me in for an u/s to make sure everything's still okay? I don't have another appointment until April 6th, which seems more like an eternity away than 2 and a half weeks. My husband thinks I'm paranoid and part of me thinks he's right, but I don't want to be emotionally invested in this pregnancy for 2 and a half more weeks only then to find out the baby stopped growing when I lost my symptoms.

ETA: I also don't want to be side-eyed by my doctor and her nurses for being "paranoid"... Ugh! Why can't I just be nauseas like everyone else?!?!!  :s

  • 12w2d and all symptoms have pretty much disappeared for a week.  I have energy (finally could work out and started taking 30 min walk on lunch breaks ).  No sickness and overnight bathroom trips are down.  I'm enjoying this break and all the extra energy.

I feel you @CopperBoom86.  My symptoms aren't super strong either and it makes me really nervous too.  Have you had an ultrasound yet or are you not scheduled for your 1st one until April 6th?  I think if you're really concerned and you've noticed a decrease in symptoms at 9 weeks, there's no harm in at least asking for an u/s to make sure things are really okay.  Medical professionals understand the nervousness and are sympathetic to it -- I broke down in tears at the beginning of my midwife appointment because I was so nervous about this pregnancy, and she wanted to get me in for an ultrasound immediately to ease my mind (the only reason I haven't gone yet is because we couldn't figure out a way for me to go with DH until this Saturday.)  Odds are that everything is fine, but if you're really nervous I think it's at least worth an ask and you shouldn't feel bad about it.

  • @CopperBoom86 , I understand completely.  I'm 10 + 3 now, but my symptoms started disappearing around 9 + 3.  I was a little worried because my nausea was gone, and I was starting to enjoy coffee and meat!  My aversions were starting to go away.  My only reassurance was the boob pain.... but even my bloatiness went away.  On Saturday at 10+1, I had so much energy, that even SO noticed.  I had zero nausea all day, entertained guests all day, was on my feet, etc...and when guests left at 7PM, I even had the energy to vacuum!  wtf?

So naturally, I was worried.  I got my sonoline B in the mail on saturday, but didn't open it till Sunday.  I tried finding the baby on the dopp;er on Sunday morning and couldn't. :(  I was so sick with worry.  I tried again on Sunday afternoon.... and found the baby's heartbeat!  Nice and strong.

I guess my point is that, my symptoms have dramatically lessened at 9 weeks.... but the baby is still growing. :)  I think for peace of mind, you SHOULD go see your doctor if you can.

@simcal18 - I had my first u/s at 8w. Everything was fine and we were able to see the heartbeat. According to everything I've read, my risk of mc at this point is extremely low (we've seen the heart beat, I'm only 29 years old, I've had zero bleeding or heavy cramps, I've had no previous losses), but that doesn't quiet my fears one bit. This pregnancy is turning me into a crazy person. I've been sobbing on and off at my desk all morning. I work with all men and they're avoiding me like the plague lol.

@annabenanna - Thank you for sharing your experience. I feel so alone these days. DH just doesn't understand. He's able to hold onto facts and be logical about things, but my emotions have got my reeling. I really want a doppler, but I'm scared it'll do more harm than good. I'm already emotional enough as it is; I can't imagine how I'd be if I couldn't find a heart beat!

I've been thinking about staying off TB for a while because I think it's fueling my crazy (loss posts, Pgal threads, multitudes of nausea sufferers), but it's support like this that's keeping me here. Thanks you guys!
