I was more concerned of the itchiness rather than the stretch marks and now the protruding belly makes it hard to see them now to care. Anyway, I've used a clean cotton scented goat's milk lotion (given to me from a lady who milks goats in the Poconos and makes milk, cheese, soap and lotion...HAHA.) That stuff got me through the winter big time! I've also been using Palmer's lavender scented lotion for dry & sensitive skin. It was on sale and I thought I'd give it a whirl. It doesn't really smell like lavender though...more like Pine-Sol to me....weird
I also received a sample of the in shower body lotion, I think it was Jergens and that wasn't too bad either! No itchy bellies here!
I agree @jodi1980 the itchiness is what prompted me to use lotion, but I don't use anything specific, just what I have. I already had stretch marks on my hips, so far nothing on the belly though. Ultimately I don't really care though.
Me: 32, DH: 38
Married 1/14/12
NTNP Since 12/13, TTC Since 1/15
BFP: 11/4/15 Found out we were having TWINS 12/9/15 EDD: 7/11/16 Born: 6/29/16
I haven't gotten any as of yet. I did get them when I went through puberty and when I was at my heaviest. They have all since faded and I'm really the only one who notices them, but if I get them again it's not necessarily a big deal. My mom didn't get any with me or my brother, hmph. I've just been using regular lotion for itchiness and then cocoa butter gel/oil from CVS where my stretch marks would likely occur and I like it a lot.
I am all about BioOil!!! I started using it as soon as I found out I had baby on board. I apply morning and night from breasts to knees. IT'S AMAZING! I can't speak to it's stretch mark prevention as of yet, I imagine it's still too soon. But my scars from my breast reduction that I had 14 years ago and the scars from my appendectomy from 3 years ago are pretty much gone. I have to be in bright natural light to see them. And my cup size has gone from 32D up to 34G and there's not a mark on me. Obviously stretch marks are genetic, although I don't believe I'm prone to them. My sister gained 80lbs during her pregnancy and only got one stretch mark. If I get them, oh well! I tried my best! I hydrate, I moisturize, I eat clean and I exercise daily. But seriously give BioOil a shot!!
