  • Thinking of you all!! @LynnNJ those non slip socks are great for barre class. Hahaha after my knee surgery and husbands shoulder surgery I have enough socks to cover me for a while. Haha I love them!!
  • @capps42613 you're almost at transfer time! Good luck, I'll be thinking of you and sending good vibes you way!

@LynnNJ oh gosh, I'm so sorry to hear you're had so many obstacles along the way. Hope that was the last of them and you'll get your FET scheduled soon!

@kindrex05 talk about willpower of not testing early. FX for you today and that you get your bfp!!!

@oxinfree totally understandable your mind is elsewhere. IF you're in NYC by any chance, let me know if I can help connect your husband with some recruiters.

  • Wow it's hard to keep up with everyone, so much going on!!!
@jenn6782 Hope ER goes great what a great feeling to be finally there!
@kindrex05 Best of luck and tons of prayers for you
@LynnNJ it's great to hear such a positive attitude, I think that gives the rest of us motivation and strength ,I really hope you have  your transfer real soon !
@oxinfree sending prayers your way you sure have a lot going on !
@capps42613 your embabies look beautiful!! That's so incredibly exciting, best wishes!!!

As for myself not too much going on until now. On Tuesday had the US and got confused bc my AMH levels were very high, around 6.2 but when the Dr saw the ultrasound he said "he wasn't wowed" by my eggs so he was going to give me a higher dose than we initially thought. I didn't ask more because I think it took me a while to process lol sometimes I freeze. Anyways I hope it's not a big deal.
I start my meds today, Menopur and Gonal F, yay!!! And my tentative ER will be around the last week of March, FET by second week of May (we are doing PGS)

Thanks to everyone for posting and sharing your experiences, even though I don't know you it is such a huge support!

  • First time posting in this March/April forum since I lurked so long but did not make an account and then it would not let me post lol. But I love reading about people positives and experiences, you just learn SO much.

We unfortunately got an BFN yesterday from round 2 of IVF which is sad, but not as hard as the first time around. I had a lite night of drinks with friends and now am thinking towards the future.

We actually have a frozen little egg waiting for us. It is not something I have had the pleasure of yet since we seem to make low numbers in eggs (3 the first time with the 2 that fertilized transferred in for a fresh cycle and 7 the second time with all fertilized but 2 transferred in for a fresh while the one 1 left at day 5 got frozen) and I don't even know what that does to timeline lol. Is it a month wait to that frozen transfer? (We had to wait 60 days between the fresh transfers). I'm hoping to stay in the April month for this frozen dino egg (My husband says we are playing Jurassic park here ;)  )

Wishing much luck for everyone on this board!!

  • @derrian welcome and I'm sorry you received your bfn yesterday. I'm not sure about the timeline between fresh and frozen, but I do believe it's a few weeks. I contemplated doing fresh or frozen for my first cycle and decided on frozen as it supposedly has higher success rates because your body has some time to relax after all the injections. I've also read posts on here that speak about the same. Hopefully if you decide to go with a frozen transfer next time, it works out for you! Good luck!

  • Thanks for the support! It turns out that my hsg test from 1 1/2 years ago ruled out the problem the dr was concerned about. I am relieved!

  • Hi everyone, just stopping in. Ive been stalking the thread for the past week. had my first check up yesterday, everything is going smooth. All the follies were under 10 still. Tomorrow I have another check up.

Congrats to everyone who has received a BFP and are starting their FETS.
  • Just now catching up on all the posts from the last week or so. My husband had unexpected kidney stone surgery and it is the busiest time of the year at my job so I was sidetracked -- but super excited to see all of the positive things happening for everyone. I'm just patiently (or not so patiently) waiting around for things to get started. I have two more weeks of bcps and my baseline ultrasound is scheduled for March 31st. I'm somewhat glad all of the waiting falls during this time of year for me. We did spring break camps for my students this week (I am a program administrator for a cohort of at-risk students in an urban high school...they're safer with us than at home, so we offer year-round activities), and next week we have parent conferences and a dance to chaperone. Whew!

I had shared with you all a couple weeks ago that I received my medications in the mail and how overwhelming that was. Since then, I've gotten a little more used to the idea. I also have a friend who is a BSN who lives a couple miles from my work and has offered to help us out with the shots if we need it, so I am very grateful for that. I'm not afraid of needles, but I AM afraid of royally screwing something up and having to start over. Here's my protocol for anyone interested (in the order of which all my paperwork is strewn about)...
    Ganirelix
    Ovidrel
    Gonal-F
    Dexamethasone
    Progesterone
    Methylprednisone
Tegaderm patch (....I'm supposed to place this on the injection site after putting lidocaine cream on it an hour prior to the injection. Anyone have this given to them before? I mean, I'm good with it, but haven't seen anyone else mentioning this).

I started the Prefera prenatal vitamins a couple weeks ago also. Don't know that much about them, because like many of you we aren't discussing what we're doing with people in 'real life'. I have noticed since taking them my acid reflux is much more flared up, so I might ask my doctor if I can increase the Prilosec I take every morning.

Positive thoughts and prayers for all of you <3

that picture is so cool @capps42613 ; i'm glad transfer went well.
sounds like we are on the same timeline @yellow22, i am on Menopur and Gonal F, as well as microdose lupron, and I started the meds today. I am on 225 of Menopur which is one more vial than last time. Last time I didn't have the burning sensation that others described when taking Menopur, but this time I really felt it, ouch! The others were fine though.
hope your checkup tomorrow goes well @Foxy8609
  • @Irynwnab thank you, everything went well. Things are finally growing. I have on my right a 12, 11 and 8 less than 10. Left I think it was a 13, and 2 11's and 4 less than 10. I feel like they are not counting all my follicles. I started with 11 on each side.  Your cycle sounds like mine. I'm on follistim rather than gonal f.

Question, anyone on follistim and leave the vial in the pen so you don't have to reload everytime? I haven't done that yet cause I'm afraid something will happen to it.
  • @foxy8609 I always left the follistim vial in the pen. Never had an issue. I always took the used needle off tho.

Im just cstching up on the last few days here. Good luck to those retrieving this week and to those still growing! I'm hanging out waiting for my transfer on April 28th.

  • Received some really bad news today. I have issues with my right ear that has caused me to have 7 surgeries as an adult...or maybe 6...I've lost count. Anyway, I had my 6 month post-op check up today and was told that my entire ear drum needs to be replaced. And soon, because the hole in my ear drum (which I didn't even know had come back) is leaving my inner ear exposed, which can cause permanent hearing loss...I already have lost enough hearing so the matter is somewhat urgent. He scheduled my surgery for the same day my baseline ultrasound was scheduled...March 31st. So, this will bump us to a May/June cycle at the very least, and depending on how I heal, maybe a little later. I'm just really in shock right now. I know in the grand scheme of things having to move our cycle is not a big deal at all, but more medical expenses and having to use up sick time has me really stressed out. I know it can't be helped, but man...what a bummer.

  • Hi. It is definitely overwhelming whenever the meds arrive in the mail. So sorry! My husband and I are getting ready to start our third ivf. First was successful and second one wasn't. It's been quite the rollercoaster to say the least. A lot of people do their own injections. However, my husband does mine. I usually get weak when blood drawn and stuff and have almost passed out a few times. So, I figure it's better safe than sorry that he does it for me. Lol!

@Drove2u The only time I have had to do 3, it has been spread out. Normal stims in the morning (menopur and/or Bravelle) and possibly stims (Menopur and/or Bravell) and/or Ganrelix in the evening. BUT I would ask you doctor for sure just to be safe ;)

Two at one time gave me manjor anxiety lol. But we learned if we prepped both right away and my husband could injection them one right after the other it was pretty good. You don't have time to think about that second shot after the first lol.

  • Hey drove2u I take two injections when I start meds and that's menopur and follistim. However, it becomes 3 once my levels get closer to that of ovulation and I add ganirelix to my injections. That one is usually the worst. It's basically to slow down the lead follicles and help smaller ones catch up. We do them all in the evening and one after the other. What we do with meds is do one side of my tummy one night then alternate to other side the next. So if do left first night we do right the next. Hope that helps.

  • I'm so sorry about your ear and I hope your surgery goes well. Medical expenses are stressful.

  • LinZ528  - I'm so sorry to hear about your setback. Hope everything goes well with the surgery & May/June will be here before you know it!
jenn6782  - hope ER goes well today!
Drove2u  - I started with Menopur in the morning and Gonal F in the evening. Then when we added Ganerelix in (around day 5) I just did that as a 2nd shot in the morning. At one of your appointments they should go over the schedule for shots with you.
