  • Current Weight/Goal Weight OR how are you feeling this week? same as last week. Bloaty and miserable.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? same. Just go to the gym more.

Any challenges you're facing this week? Yes. I'm not used to ovulating so when I do I feel awful (progesterone is not my friend). So just trying to ride out this week without eating and sleeping during all my free time.

How did you do with your goals last week? No so good. I went to the gym once and did yoga at home once.

GTKY: What is your vision for the next 5 years? of course, hope to have a baby (or even babies), but besides that, really focusing on things within my control. I want to finally pay off our credit card debt, start socking away money, have a decent savings account, refinance our house for a 15 year mortgage, take a great vacation somewhere, and decide on a career change. I'm not happy where I'm at in life with my work, I'd like to narrow down what I would really want to be doing for the rest of my life and go for it. I love my job that I work from home, so I would love to expand on that and quit my office job.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week?
I have a set schedule to keep with my workouts and I'm still challenging myself to eat as many of the 1900 calories I was "assigned" as possible. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be, but DH and I have turned it into a game.
Any challenges you're facing this week?
Just to get to the gym every day. We'll see how it goes.
How did you do with your goals last week?
Pretty good! I made it to the gym every day I was supposed it. It felt so good lifting again.

GTKY: What is your vision for the next 5 years?
At this point, I would just be happy with a LO at home, debt-free, and in a much better house than where we are now, someplace closer to where DH and I both work. At with my health, I just want to FEEL better than I do now. I'm always so tired and have little to no energy for work or to take care of myself. I want to feel a lot better than I do now.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week?
Exercise more! I ended up being so busy at work last week I didn't even have time for lunch breaks let alone exercise. This week should be more "normal" and I'm hoping to get out walking, or at least doing a bit of my workout video on rainy days-like today.
Any challenges you're facing this week?
Gotta stick on the meal planning train. Didn't organize meals yesterday like I did last Sunday, so have to make sure I don't fall back into old habits for meals/snacking.
How did you do with your goals last week?
Failed on the exercise part but succeeded on the food journal/eating healthy part.
GTKY: What is your vision for the next 5 years?
I'd really like to be completely out of debt (minus a mortgage). DH has a lot to still pay off from a variety of things, so to get that and our two vehicles paid off would be great. Also a reasonable savings account. At this point in my career I am increasing my hours but within 5 years would like to be able to cut back to a more reasonable number of jobs and hours worked! And within 5 years I'd of course like to have a LO, or possibly two!

Cook dinner 5/7 nights of the week
Any challenges you're facing this week?
My partner has to work late a bunch this week, which means he may be bringing takeout home.  Delicious but not always healthy.
How did you do with your goals last week?
Pretty okay!  I basically cut out snacks at work by grazing all day on my own fruits and veggies.  I missed one day of yoga, buuut in the long run it could be worse.  Down 3 pounds since last Monday, but I may have been bloated from my period.  We'll see what next week brings us!
GTKY: What is your vision for the next 5 years?
Ooooh that's a toughie.  I've got a cushy job right now, but I think I'm basically stagnant in the company at this point due to a bunch of reasons.  I'll probably stick around for another year or two for the experience then move to another company whose HQ are in my city.  Such is life in this generation.  On a personal level, we hope to buy another 2-4 flat and just rent it out. I think that might give us enough income for my partner to quit and become a stay at home dad / WFH consultant.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week?
I left work early and am wondering if I have the flu or not, so I'm going to keep my goals small this week. I hope to get to the gym once this week, twice would be amazing, and eat healthier.

Any challenges you're facing this week?
I am currently sick right now. It's also my fw so I get stupidly nervous about working out too much and its affect on ttc.

How did you do with your goals last week?
I went to the gym four times like I wanted to! Yay for achieving goals! I'm really proud of myself.

GTKY: What is your vision for the next 5 years?
What a question! I'm considering quitting my career (teaching) and not sure if I want to come back to it or not so my future is pretty fuzzy. I'd like to have a kid or two, be debt-free and be happy. I'd like to travel some more and keep running half marathons.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? Gym moar.

Any challenges you're facing this week? Ankle's acting up, Wednesday I have a long day for tutoring and nursing stuff. Thursday is my long day. Friday I have to take the kid to his bio mother's. And then I work Saturday, and Sunday I have to clean the house for a Pure Romance party.
The elliptical hubby mentioned buying for me to work out at home is looking a lot better right now.

How did you do with your goals last week? Horrendous. Just horrendous. Got sick mid-week, and haven't worked out since. -_-

GTKY: What is your vision for the next 5 years? Graduate, pass the NCLEX, get pregnant, have a boat-load of kids, and work enough to pay off the majority of my student loans so hubby can stay home with the kids.

Not good! Bad week. Gained several pounds after DH and I fell off the bandwagon hard. SW: 255, CW: 214 GW: 150

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week?
Stop eating all the food. End of story.

Any challenges you're facing this week?
I want to eat all the food.

How did you do with your goals last week?
Not good. Not good at all. Not only did I not get to the gym, I also went on a food eating binge. DH and I ate out WAY too much and I didn't follow my diet even a little bit. Not even for lunch, and I can usually be trusted to have a good lunch and breakfast, and then fall off track just for dinner.

GTKY: What is your vision for the next 5 years?
I would like to be lucky enough to get KU, have a couple of kiddos running around, maybe one more fur pup, and be out of our apartment and into our first home! DH and I are both happy with our careers so I would hope that was still the case.

  • @Marley629 - Welcome! I don't use a Fitbit, but I have a Polar Heartrate Monitor. I put it on under my shirt (under my boobs) and then it connects to my phone to show me how many calories I've burned during my workouts, which really motivates me. They have a Polar Loop, which is very similar to a FitBit. I love it!

GL to you, lady! I totally know what you mean about now feeling the best! It's a tough journey, but being in this group has been a big help.
  • Thank you for the encouragement @aliciabhen & @BerkeBaby and GL to the both of you as well! Looking forward to having support on this journey

@BerkeBaby  I have been considering getting some sort of heart rAte monitor and was looking at the Garmin watches but just looked up the Polar heart rate monitor and it seems to be more of what I am looking for! Thank you!

  • I love Polar! They have great customer service! The band I use has lasted a long time and I downloaded the Polar Beat app to keep track of my calories. It's nice. :)
  • @marley629 Yay welcome! I love my fitbit and love hitting my goal of 10k steps!!
As far as heart rate monitors, I have a Garmin watch and a heartrate monitor that links to my watch via bluetooth. Then I can get data from my watch and heartrate monitor on my Garmin phone app too. It was really nice for half marathon training. Now I'm much lazier so I haven't used the heartrate monitor in a bit.

Got AF on Saturday, along with being sick, and have had a few rough days emotionally.  I want all the ice cream.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week?
Eating all my meal prep meals. Healthy snacking. Taking my daily walk.

Any challenges you're facing this week?
It's supposed to be rainy and super windy this week which means I'll have to walk on the treadmill which I hate. Driving to the gym in crappy weather just to walk sucks.

How did you do with your goals last week?
Good with eating. Bad with getting back to excercise. All these medications have me feeling terrible and I've just had no motivation.

DH are planning to move up in our respective work positions, purchase a home, hopefully have two children, and eventually move out to Tennessee to be closure to my parents and get out of this hell of a state we call Illinois.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week?
I'm going to try to actually do my stretches, strengthening, and yoga for my back, and hopefully go to the gym at least once. Also, I'm going to continue to try not to eat too much

Any challenges you're facing this week?
Monday was traveling, yesterday I was exhausted from traveling, I work today and tomorrow and Sunday, and I have an all day family thing on Saturday. I guess it's Friday or nothing for the gym

How did you do with your goals last week?
I didn't exercise at all on vacation, though we did walk around a lot. I ate a ton. I think the only reason I lost a  pound is the lovely intestinal virus or bacteria I picked up in Vietnam :/

GTKY: What is your vision for the next 5 years?
Hopefully two kids! Working part time instead of full time. Student loans and other debt paid off. Maybe some travel to more kid-friendly places like Europe and Japan

DH and I have been talking about it, and pricing them out. I love the Polar Heart Rate Monitor because it's more accurate during my workouts, but I like FitBits because they can be worn any time and I like keeping track of my sleep and steps.

Current Weight/Goal Weight OR how are you feeling this week?
    234/ 200 for now (used to be a stable 180 @ 5'10". ugh.)

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? no dessert to start, and trying to hit the gym EOD

Any challenges you're facing this week? I am a stress eater, so stress this week is my biggest challenge

How did you do with your goals last week? Didn't have goals last week.

GTKY: What is your vision for the next 5 years? Happy and Healthy. Hopefully living back home near family (~9 hours away).

  • Joining in this weekly check-in; looks like good support!

Current Weight/Goal Weight OR how are you feeling this week?

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week?
I'm trying to do more cooking that doesn't involve noodles or frozen pizza.  I am also aiming for 3 workouts this week.
Any challenges you're facing this week?
I have a 5k I'm walking on Saturday, and I have been so lazy lately, I'm kind of concerned.  Which makes me feel worse, but at least I'm going to do it!
How did you do with your goals last week?
I set goals for this week, so I guess I did alright?
GTKY: What is your vision for the next 5 years?
Hopefully we will have bought a house and have a kid or two.  Other than that, I'm happy at my job and that sort of thing, but maybe DH will have a job he likes more by then, I hope.

Oooh I want to join in this Fitbit challenge! I haven't worn mine in a while but this is a good opportunity to start back up. I'll do it when I get home. Those challenges are really good motivation for me because I get embarrassed if I'm way behind. Yay for shaming myself into exercise!

  • Yay I'm so excited for our challenge! Though my day 1 isn't going to look good because I woke up to take it off of the charger only to realize it hadn't actually been charging all night!
