Re: WTF Wednesday

  • Mines boring but it's only 7:30am so give me some time, but what the actual F to DD and these middle of the night temper tantrums. Like dead asleep and then screaming at the top of her lungs for no damn reason. Between that and up peeing 3x last night, I'm exhausted.
  • Loading the player...
  • WTF to my coworker who scheduled a meeting today so I couldn't take the day off with DH like planned for our first u/s. Having my alarm go off at 5:00 am sucked and leaving the house while he was still sleeping sucked even more!

  • WTF to catering who didn't provide the three platters of sandwiches for our lunch meeting, so I emailed 45 people to tell them no sandwiches today. Then two minutes later, catering miraculously comes up with two platters of sandwiches so I get to email all 45 people and say "Just kidding! We have lunch." Ugh.
  • WTF to my uncle. He's coming into town and taking me out to dinner - lovely! But he's doing it tonight and I have yet to be told where or when. I am solo-parenting right now (he knows this) so I have a babysitter coming at 6 staying until who knows when because I have LITERALLY no idea where or when I am going tonight. The man has four kids and five grandkids - he should know parents of toddlers need a plan. I repeat, I'm very excited to see him and dinner will be really nice, but for real? My babysitter comes in six hours and I still don't know what I'm doing. This is too fluid for me!
  • WTF husband...I am on spring break this week (teacher here) and he gets up at 5:30 this morning and starts shaving and of course its wakes me up...Yes I know this is silly but I was sleeping really well.

I finally had enough of the insomnia, and took the suggestion of my doctor and tried unisom last night. My generally crappy feeling in the morning has not been improved by adding a unisom hangover...

WTF DH, why do you feel the need to wake me up in the morning before you leave for work when I'm clearly sleeping? I get that you're trying to be sweet and tell me you love me, but you don't need to wake me up to do that!

    Edit because punctuation.
  • @nataliemaephotography I so feel you on that one, it made me chuckle!! My FI yesterday morning after a terrible night of sleep comes over and sits next to me and wakes me from sleep to rub my side and look at me lovingly. I felt so terrible because I know my face was saying WTF are you doing?! Lol

My WTF today though is for waking up with a pounding headache at 5 am that will not go away.
  • WTF DH?!

We have three dogs (one 35 lbs, one 65 lbs, and one close to 100 lbs.). The 100 pounder has to go outside on a leash because he won't stay in the yard. So DH and i have it scheduled pretty nicely that I take him out in the morning before work and he handles afternoon walks.

However, since my hip and back are killing me, DH agreed to walk him for me. Plus, the dog is a little rough and DH doesn't want to risk me being pulled over. Except this morning he overslept big time and didn't have time to.

WTF me. I went to pull up my sleeve, lost my grip and ended up punching myself in the boob REALLY HARD. Just in case they weren't sore enough on their own, now I have a throbbing pain that won't go away too.
I accidentally "brushed" my nipple with my hair brush the other day trying to get knots out of my wet hair. I thought my nipple was going to explode. I feel your pain.

So this technically happened yesterday but it's annoying me today. Last night I was flossing my teeth and somehow managed the cut my bottom lip with my finger nail and now I have a cut and a sore lip at work.

Also, WTF blump!! Took so long to find something to wear this morning that was work appropriate and didn't make me look like I'm pregnant since I haven't told work yet. Even the outfit I have on doesn't work depending on the way I sit or stand. I just want to wear sweatpants and t-shirt all day, is that too much to ask?

  • WTF lazy, helpless people! Someone at work who is perfectly smart and capable keeps asking me to help out on these little, teeny micro-projects, which are kind of a gray area between her department and mine. They don't take long, and it's really not that big of a deal in the whole scheme of things, but at the same time, it's not crucial that I do it rather than her. And they always come up when I'm in the middle of something that I have to drop to work on this bullshit. She could if she wanted to. She's just fucking lazy, and it makes me insane. And the task is so simple a monkey could do it. It's so irritating.

  • Ok I have another one...just because it just happened. WTF gag reflex. I was just taking my water bill to the mailbox and I started gagging and had to run back inside because I thought for sure I was gonna throw up. This has probably been my worst symptom. I haven't thrown up yet but the fact that any smell or thought of smell makes me gag.

  • WTF to Trump continuing to win nearly every friggin state in the primaries! I don't personally know one single Trump supporter... and I'm a republican who lives in the deep South, so that's saying a lot! Where are all these idiots coming from?!
@CooperBoom86 You're lucky then. The Trump supporters I know are so blind to everything. I try to have a conversation with them to see why they are voting for him and the main response is, "Because he says what he thinks and doesn't care." UGH. I'm a Republican in the South and if Trump is our candidate I can't see myself voting for him.

Me neither. To be honest, (and I don't want to get into a political debate with anyone; I don't have the energy these days lol) if he wins the republican nomination, I'm probably not going to vote, at all. I've voted in every election I could since I was 18, but I can't see myself voting for that idiot, nor the alternative.

I'm right there with you! I have the added bonus of actually throwing up from it too, but everything is making me gag. Right now, it's too hot in my office and that's been making me gag (WTF basement office with no windows!)

I will still vote but I also cannot and will not vote for either of the Dem. candidates. I really hope there will be a viable third party candidate.

WTF is with all of the speshul snowlake intro posts this week? I'm not particularly bothered by it, it's just weird that it's happening so much all of a sudden.
They actually DO bother me, like in an annoying "read the freaking post marked READ THIS FIRST" kind of way...
They're driving me crazy. I keep thinking can't you just at least try to read the pinned post?!

  • WTF friend! I feel like I'm in a relationship where he has totally moved on, just hasn't dumped me yet and I'm too dumb to see the signs.  Well instead of a romantic relationship, it's a friendship, with someone I thought was my best friend.  Her dad died, I found out through a mutual friend; she was visiting my work, didn't drop in to say hi; she has decided not to come back to my work (we worked together, she took time off to take care of her dad), found out on Facebook; I am the one always starting messages and trying to make plans which she puts off.  It's really bugging me because I don't feel like I have a lot of friends and I get friends come and go and she's at a different part of her life than me, but still wtf!

My dad is a Trump supporter.  UGGGH.  He keeps emailing me crap and I keep replying that I do not want to hear about that misogynistic, bigoted, lying, bloviating, narcissistic megalomaniac piece of shit.  He literally just makes crap up in response to my anti-Trump arguments.  (Example:  I say "Trump defrauded people through Trump University and is getting sued over it!  Dad: "Trump will probably be able to produce several graduates of Trump University who are now millionaires.")  I will likely see him at a family event in July and if he can't keep his mouth shut then we are going to have issues.  Pregnancy hormones have severely limited my ability to tolerate bullshit.

My WTF today is people who get into the work elevator either smelling strongly or carrying strong smelling food.  Yesterday around lunch it was fish that literally had me running to get out of the elevator as soon as I could.  This morning it was cigarette smoke smell that was making me ill.  Seriously people???????  We only have 8 floors.  Take the stairs if you or your lunch smell that gross -- don't get into an enclosed space with the rest of us.

  • WTF to entertaining guests. I'm naturally pretty introverted, but even more so when I'm pregnant. My husband's (adult) niece is visiting from Virginia and asked to come over to play with my DD today. My house is nuts and I pretty much dry heave all day long, but sure, come on over. Also, no one knows we're KU again so I will have NO explanation for my insane irritability.

  • @rozANDbenSINCE2001 Is that your bulldog?! We just had to put ours down right after the new year and DH is chomping at the bit to get another one. They are such funny dogs and low energy enough that I think we could handle one with a baby but I'm hesitant to add another responsibility to my plate right now. Maybe I'll re-assess in 2nd tri. Just love bulldogs though!

@MRSCORKER do it!! You can totally handle it. DH and I got a puppy (which was dog #2 for us) a little less than 2 months before getting our BFP last pregnancy. It was totally fine. You'll love having a little buddy around while nesting!

Coincidentally, our breeder just posted a picture of a new litter on her FB page this morning. I was all "hmmmm we could TOTALLY handle three dogs, a cat, a toddler and a newborn!!" Then I sobered up...

@MRSCORKER Yes! I forgot I had that as my signature from D14. I use the mobile app pretty exclusively so didn't even know it was still there.

That's Georgie and we very, very regretfully had to give him away last week. It was an incredibly hard decision as we raised him from a pup to eight years, but he had major health problems which we could not afford to care for. He was given to a family friend who immediately took him in to have all of his surgeries and we are told he is recuperating well! My husband was especially sad to see him go, but we are just happy knowing he's probably feeling much better and this guy who took him in is able to dedicate all his time and energy to him.

We will likely be taking a bully break because no one could replace George, but we are bulldog fanatics as well :)

PS (edited because I'm a jerk!) I am so sorry for your loss! Bullies are such sweethearts and I'm sure it was very hard to put yours down :(

  • @rozANDbenSINCE2001 I'm so sorry about your little guy too! It's so hard to make those decisions but it sounds like you guys made the right one and you can at least visit since he's with a friend! Bulldogs are pretty high maintenance health wise. Ours lived to be 13 which is pretty unheard of for the bread but she had so many issues.

@kmalls We are seriously considering it. My main concern is actually cost. Bulldogs are so expensive to begin with and like I said above, they tend to have lots of health issues. I'd love to adopt from a shelter but then I worry about behavioural issues and how they would do with a baby. We really do feel like something is missing without a dog though. We love our cats but having a dog is the best.

  • @MRSCORKER  Yes, the cost of owning a bulldog has been proven to be significantly higher than owning any other breed :/ It's so hard, though, since they really are just lovable little lugs! If the cost of maintaining their health wasn't so prohibitive, we would be a bulldog family for life! If you get another, I'd love to see a picture! We are hoping to add a pup back into our lives by the end of the summer, but we are leaning towards a big dog like a lab or golden retriever. Very different than a bully!

I grew up with Goldens and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Perfect family dog. I've been pulling for a Golden for a while but DH is such a bulldog man. Goldens are such great dogs but then I get buying instead of adopting guilt just thinking about it. Ugh, decisions.

  • @MRSCORKER Ooo! That's nice to hear!! I've always wanted a big dog to take on long walks (since George would poop out after two blocks). We also would love to adopt, although, like you, I'm nervous about potential behavioral problems or an unexpected reaction to hanging out with babies and small kids. We took our DD to the pet store last week to play with a golden pup and she had a blast, but we are still deciding as well! Please keep me posted!  :)
