What are you doing to prepare for baby? DH finally quit working his side jobs! Yay!! He was able to get the spare room cleaned out and will hopefully paint this weekend!
Questions? Anyone have any experience with three car seats in the back seat of a mid size sudan? (Nissan Altima) Do you think they'll fit?
GTKY: Who will be in the delivery room and or recovery room with you when you have your LO?: Just me and my DH in the delivery room. My mom and sister were in the recovery room last time and that was nice. Lucky for me I was only in labor for three hours so by the time I started pushing my MIL had taken an Ambien and couldn't come. That was so nice!
feeling tension at your old incision site? It's been 19 months and I'm sure mine is healed and sturdy but it hurts sometimes lately- just the pulling and stretching of the scar inside is sharp.
are you aware of how they will do your new incision? I will ask my OB this week- I wonder if they make a new site?
are you stoked about knowing what will happen this time? I feel relieved to be honest. I like having a plan.
are you nervous that you will have an unstoppable VBAC in the car on the way to the hospital- I fear that happening- I know it won't likely happen but boy does that sound less than ideal.
@DeePaddy24, I had bacne during first trimester, but I guess it was hormone related to pregnancy because it went away right around the second trimester. I didn't do anything special. Hopefully yours clears up soon.
1) For a non-high risk pregnancy do they do an ultrasound after the anatomy scan? My doctor hasn't said anything about what the future appointments so I wasn't sure and forgot to ask
2) Is anyone only feeling movement low still? I know at 25 Weeks my uterus should be above my belly button and it's a firm a little above it but the only movement is still really low and always below my belly button. I wasn't sure if this is normal or if I should be concerned
Adding a rave: I remembered my questions!!!! Take that pregnancy brain!!
Also adding another rant: I HATE when people just stare at my belly. It's sooooo weird!
@MrsB8214 I asked my doctor about another scan and she said they "May" do one between 36-38 weeks but that isn't guaranteed (I do not know what it depends on).
2 - I am feeling movement low as well.. I know at my A/S the baby was breech and I believe it still is as most of the movement i feel is below my belly button. VERY rarely have I felt anything above my belly button, though it has happened. Its mostly just above my underwear line still.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: starting to get sciatica like pain but I'm going to try to ignore it for now and pretend I've just been sitting in a desk chair too much.

1. My OB said after my anatomy scan I would only have another ultrasound if they noticed something askew in the uterine measurements they do at every appointment.
2. I'm 28 weeks and I just started noticing movement anywhere but really low in the last week or so. It felt like he was kicking me in my actual vagina most of the time. He's since migrated up toward what feels like right under my rib cage. Not fun.
@MsBeachNJ Okay good to know! I feel like I should know more about the medical things since I'm in the medical field but OB is not my specialty at all lol. At our anatomy scan it seemed like he was transverse but they didn't tell us anything about his position. It would make sense though because I feel him low and on both sides and in the middle so I think he just hangs out down there. Definitely makes me feel better though

GTKY: Who will be in the delivery room and or recovery room with you when you have your LO?: Just me and DH. I don't want visitors for a little while until we've had time to bond with baby, skin on skin time, nurse, etc. Then just our parents and maybe my siblings. I don't want the stress of other people hanging over us.

1. I think that it really depends on the OB & their protocol. I know that originally I wasn't going to be having any further ultrasounds, but now that there are risks I will be.
2. Yes! All the movement I feel is still really low. I think it's just where his hands & feet are. Sometimes I feel something right at & around my belly button, but for the most part it's all below.

Questions?
GTKY: Who will be in the delivery room and or recovery room with you when you have your LO?: Hubby in delivery room- hubby and my parents in recovery
How far along are you? 28+2 ----snip!---- GTKY: Who will be in the delivery room and or recovery room with you once you have your LO? I'm planning a home birth, so this is actually something I have to work out soon because my midwife requires that anyone we are planning to have there with us attend a meeting beforehand to make sure there aren't going to be any surprise problems with antagonistic family members or something. The biggest question right now is whether or not we want to have my 5-year-old daughter in the house or not at the time, and if we do, who to have come over to hang out and help her with anything while my husband and I are otherwise occupied. A few close family friends or my mother are the best candidates probably, but I haven't actually talked to anyone about this yet, so it's up there on my priority list.
Just some experience, FWIW - the noises I was making at my home birth were noises I would never inflict on a child. Haha. I honestly think I would've scared my son (he was 6 at the time) if I had him home and I would've been really stressed out about him not hearing, worrying if he was ok etc. But, I realize not everyone labours as loudly as I ended up....but it's just something to consider

1. No tension. At least not yet. It's been over 4 yrs since mine.
2. A friend of mine just had her RCS with the same OB and said they cut a circle around her old incision because of scar tissue. So, same site and still one scar. Just a new one.
3. I am! But not as much as H is, hah. I'm excited to avoid the uncertainty, 30hrs of labor, and hopefully the NICU stay. And since all our family is 10+ hours away, it's easier to plan visits and someone to watch DD.
4. That thought has crossed my mind! We are 15ish minutes from the hospital, so probably not likely. But knowing the risks, it's definitely a little worrisome.
My friend said they used a clear screen and she watched the procedure in a reflection on something overhead. And got immediate skin to skin, no waiting. That's the complete opposite of how things went for me last time, so I'm excited about that.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? Trying to mentally prepare for having my 8 year old move to the lower level in our home for when the baby comes. I really don't know if I'm going to be ok with it. I like having him right beside my room. Downstairs isn't far away at ALL, but it gives me anxiety. His room will be right below ours and I'm seriously contemplating cutting a trap door in my floor. God help him when he wants to move away to college.
GTKY: Who will be in the delivery room and or recovery room with you when you have your LO?: Husband and midwife and a doctor, probably - which one? who knows - cause I've not seen the same doctor twice since being put in high-risk care.
Despite being high risk now, my midwife will be there as supportive care regardless, and then if all goes well, all my post-partum care would be shifted back to her again. Woo! This makes me so happy because I know I'll feel supported no matter what. I had a doula at my home birth last time, but I don't think I'm going to go that route again this time as I don't think it's as necessary.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant/Symptom: It really feels like she's trying to break out of there. Between some serious cervix jabs to what feels like she must be scratching at the walls, I am sore as hell. 100 days left... Rave: All this crazy movement at least helps me relax a little that she's alright in there!
GTKY: Who will be in the delivery room and or recovery room with you when you have your LO? Just my hubby for delivery, but my parents promised they'd keep us company while I labor and play Euchre (card game) with us. It's what my mom and dad did while she was in labor with my sister, so I'd like to keep the tradition alive! No one for at least and hour after so we can have time for just the three of us.

I passed my Glucose too but they said I was mildly anemic as well and told me to take supplements. I don't know if its working though. It's hard to get iron in my diet when majority of the time I don't feel like cooking.
@arteduc8 I'm also slightly anemic (I have been since the start of my pregnancy). My midwife suggested I take an over-the-counter supplement twice daily. My iron levels have only gone up a little bit since starting the supplement, but at least they're not dropping! In addition to taking a supplement, your best bet is probably trying to incorporate as iron-rich meat into your diet as possible.
ETA: Taking your supplement with vitamin C should help with absorption as well. Try to avoid taking it with foods/drinks rich in calcium.

I take number 2 to mean TINY TUMMY TUCK is coming my way!
Thank you for writing back!
They wouldn't let me see my surgery while I was begging to- meanwhile my loving partner is bawling and later he tells me it looked like lasagna inside me. He did not appreciate it the way I would have.
I got skin to skin right away and I so look forward to it again! It was all very magical for me once everything was over. I don't care what anyone says about how it came to pass- my birth experience was worth going through and I am so glad I have my son!
Post Script: My son's nose was crooked for several days from being pushed so hard into the birth canal! But his head was perfectly round when they pulled him out!
GTKY: Hubs, naturally, and my mom if she's there. (She should be there unless we have baby early.) I'll let anyone into the recovery room! (Well, not, like, strangers off the street...) And as long as they don't interfere with bonding!
@Palisson - My family does medieval reenactment/recreation, so I always have a sewing backlog, but it's almost always medieval clothes and not actually useful things like bedding or baby clothes. At the moment it's a pile of plain white chemises for my 5-year-old daughter, who has thoroughly outgrown all her old stuff.
Regarding c-sections, I wanted to throw some solidarity your way! I have some problems with the really high c-section *rate* in America, but that's different from feeling like it's okay to throw shade at actual ladies who have a c-section. There shouldn't be any stigma if you're having one, and you're entitled to have whatever feelings you have about it, positive and/or negative. So I'm sorry if people are giving you the nasty side-eye about making the decision that's right for you.
@CourtJack - Yeah, that is definitely a consideration I've had. I wasn't all that silent when she was born, either. On the other hand, she's like me in that she likes to *know* what is going on instead of guessing, and has expressed a desire to be there. I need to do more exploratory prep with her to finalize a decision, I think. Really, my ideal scenario would be that I have the baby at like 6:30 in the morning and she can just wake up and come meet her new sibling. I guess I don't get to plan that, though!

How much iron are you taking? Are you taking the slow-dose kind or the all-at-once dose kind? I had to special order mine because my Rite Aid only carried tablets as high as 27 mg. not gonna cut it, Rite Aid! I cut the tablets in half and take half in the morning and half in the evening to spread it out. I've been taking them for a week and still feel like crap. It takes a while for your iron to get back to normal. The others' advice is fabulous.

STUCK INSIDE THIS BOX Thank you for your replies! I have a shop on etsy that specifically does dragon and dinosaur tails and I have sewn myself full costumes for ren faire sales- so I don't really want that backlog. I have an order of tails to sew this week in fact.
as far as c-sections, I have never once felt anything but good about the birth of my son but I was pretty confused to read some aggressive positions from women who have never had a c-section themselves. Not on this board. Statements declaring that a c-section does not constitute a real birth are terrifying to me. Only Donald Trump should be talking out of his ass on that level.
I didn't get to see anything last time, but I want to! H thinks I'm insane and doesn't want to watch.
I assume then that I'd have gotten immediate skin to skin and all that if DD hadn't coded and been sent directly to the NICU after.
I haven't gotten any snide remarks that I'm aware of, but I've seen the ridiculous things people can say. The goal is a safe delivery for both of us. They can eff off.
My poor kid had bruises all over her head from multiple failed forceps attempts and her head was perfectly round after the first day.

I take a slow dose kind that isn't supposed to constipate you. Its 36mg. My doc finally got back to me and said the amount and kind I'm taking is good, but that I need to take it at night opposite of my prenatals. Hoping that the switch will help my body access the iron better. Feeling this tired is no fun! Hoping you get back to normal soon, too!
@kbequette08 Good to hear I'm not alone on this! Yes, I have no energy to cook either. Fortunately DH has taken over on that otherwise I'd be eating crap. Apparently we need more iron rich foods in our diet though. @Alanna999 Great advice! I asked my doc about taking the iron with OJ since I read vitamin C helps absorption but I didn't know that calcium inhibited it. Guess my calcium fortified OJ is not a good choice then... darnit. Thanks for the info!
@MamaNicoleof3 Yum, love me some dark leafy greens and almonds! Actually eat a lot of those already, but more can't hurt, right?

Husband and midwife and a doctor, probably - which one? who knows - cause I've not seen the same doctor twice since being put in high-risk care.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rant/Symptom: It really feels like she's trying to break out of there.
