I have been morbidly counting down the hours until I hit the 24 week mark, fully understanding that viability does not mean out of the woods. But SOME chance is better than NO chance, and for that, I am grateful.
FWIW, my lil bro was born at 28 weeks (2lbs3oz) and now is 25 and 6'4". is only lingering issue from his early birth is his asthma, which is totally manageable. Until I hit that ,milestone, I think I will still be a little nervous, but I still like knowing there is a chance for survival at this point.
Yay 24 weeks today can't believe we only have a few mts left! Its flying by... Maybe i need to get on buying stuff.. Saw this yesterday and it made me laugh... Kinda true right now... But in my defense we are selling our house, moving to a temp rental then moving to our house we are building all during the next 5 mts so we lack motivation to buy baby stuff just to put in storage...
As a premie myself (almost 2 months early, weighing 3 lbs 9oz) I am in awe of how strong babies are! I of course am hoping my little girl continues to grow and develop and stays in there much longer than I did!
@Cosmic+Love I think I've convinced my husband to get the snip, too. My only problem with it is that I want to wait until the baby's born - just in case. My pregnant brain thinks terrible irrational thoughts.
@ButtermyBiscuit I completely understand that. It was kind of an easy decision for us/him. We have beautiful DS already and if anything went wrong with the pregnancy at this point, I don't think I could bring myself to try again. (Sorry, I really didn't mean to turn this into a vasectomy thread, dudes.)
"The cleaning, the scrubbing will wait til tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
If I go off the due date from my last U/S, I'm here. If I go off the date from my first u/s, it'll be next week. If I'm going off the date given by LMP, I have two weeks to go.... crazy how you can get such different dates!
