Advise pls - day 6 stims - low AFC

Hi all -  just wondering if anyone has similar results on day 6? I am on my first Ivf cycle and a high level of stims due to age 38 and amh of 1.3. My day 6 follicle count was 7 - right side - 13,10 &5 - left side 10,9,8,3. My e2 431 and lh 1.9. Do these numbers look promising? Or should I be prepared for a canceled cycle? Any advise please? Thanks :-)

    Hi. I'm not a doctor or anything but I can give you my history and maybe that will help? I'm 28, AMH is 0.5. After day 8 of stims I had 4 usable follicles total ranging from 17-20mm. The doctor called and asked if I wanted to cancel the cycle and try meds at a higher dose next cycle to try to grow more follicles or try the ER with the 4 follicles I had. I went in this morning and retrieved 6 eggs. Every doctor is different and my doctor felt confident to move forward. It's always a gamble, but I'd see what your doctor says would be in your best interest. FX for you!

    thanks for the reply - I'm worried at this stage that they may not get that big even - you had a great result to get 6 from the four. Hope they do good :)

    @wishing41 I only have one ovary and only showed 6-8 follicles the entire stim cycle.  My RE said she would continue as long as there were three.  They ended up retrieving four and two ended up fertilizing.  I transferred two on day 2 and am currently in the gutwrenching 2 week wait. I'd love to be one of those people that has 15-20 follicles but I think with my age and having only one ovary, that it isn't in the cards for me.  I've gotten so much support from these boards.  In the end of the day, it only takes one good one.  Your E2 is double the number that mine was at day 6 so I think you definitely have hope!!!!     End of March 2015: BFP with Femara! Saw heartbeat at 5.5 weeks. M/C at 11 weeks
    Multiple more months of Femara
    IUI #1 with Femara and Follistem 75 units: BFN
    IUI #2 with Follistem 150 units: BFN
    Dec 2015: 1st IVF. 10 eggs retrieved with 8 eggs fertilized.  5 day transfer of two embryos with 2 frozen embies. BFN
    January 2016: FET #1 2 embryos: BFN
    March 2016: 2nd IVF cycle. 4 eggs retrieved with 2 fertilized. Quick two day transfer of both embryos: BFN
    April/May 2016 IVF #3. 11 eggs retrieved. 10 mature.  7 fertilized.  2 5AA blasts transferred 5/11/2016 BFN
    September 2016 IVF #4: 17 follicles growing, premature ovulation through Cetrotide. Retrieval cancelled. 
    April 2017 IVF #5: 9 follicles growing, 6 eggs retrieved with 5 fertilized. Transfer of three blasts. BFN
    June 2017: IVF #6: 2 follicles growing, 5 eggs retrieved with 5 fertilized. Transfer of 5 3-day embryos. Chemical pregnancy. BFN
    Nov/Dec 2017: Donor egg cycle. 33 eggs retrieved, 26 mature. 26 fertilized.

    @radmom27thank you for the encouragement - can I ask how long you stimmed for and what your egg sizes were when they transferred? Have my 8 day scan tomorrow - hoping the follicle sizes have increased. Fx for you :)

    @wishing 41 I stimmed for ten days.  My eggs ranged in size from 17-19 the day before my trigger.  They expected to get at least six so I was surprised when they only got four but some of my follicles were empty.  The last time I stimmed I got ten eggs and didn't look that much different than this time.  Trying to stay positive ;)  How long are they planning to stim for you?

    @radmom27 I would imagine around the 10 days or so also-  It is dependent on my levels tomorrow to give them a good idea if they are continuing to grow and if some will achieve the size required. Don't feel any signs of activity in my ovaries so have a bad feeling about it.

    @wishing41 I never feel much during stims...not sure if its the one ovary thing.  Fx for your next ultrasound and don't count yourself out!
