WWYD? Dh home early?

So the repairs/updates to the house have taken DH longer than expected. He was planning on coming home Thurs but had a few set backs and thinks another 3 days would be all he needs. I see where he is coming from in that we wouldn't need to hire a handy man to finish up so the work in the house would be consistent with one persons skills and not two (he's very particular about his handiwork). I not convinced he isn't nit picking the house and what is left to be done.

I am pushing 36 weeks. When DH returns I will be pushing 37. I've been dilated at 1 cm since my last appt a week ago. With DD1 I was dilated for at 2 cm for 3 weeks before I was induced so this was nothing new, however DH is now 20 hrs away and if things change he would be devastated to miss the birth. I am also having more BH and real painful contractions although they aren't remotely close together.

I know with my luck if I still have him stay on schedule and come home Thursday I will end up going late and if I have him stay I'd go early. In the grand scheme I don't think the extra three days will be a big deal but just want some other opinions.

Statistically speaking, the likelihood of you going into labor over that 3 day span is so slim, I personally would go ahead and have him stay to finish out.

I understand the hesitation but agree with @cmjenkies. It's really unlikely that you will go before 37 weeks. I would say stay, but ask him to be sure he's not doing anything more than he needs to (I'm a nit-picker too) so that if he can get home earlier he can.

Thanks ladies. If he wasn't so far out it wouldn't be an issue but it makes me nervous. It makes more sense for him to stay out there.
