I guess go with what a lot of people already said and fix the maternity/paternity leave situation. I also like @JediAlly85 idea of forgiving student loans. When we went and signed our mortgage application the other day they show what you make in one column and what your debts are in another. I almost lost it just looking at the number, so high from both H and my student loans.

@MrsDramaK yay! Congrats! FX that line keeps getting darker!

    Month/Cycle: 3/2

    CD/DPO: 27/11

    Timing: -5, -2, 0, +1

Testing plans: today, yesterday, all BFN. I wish I could wait until Monday, but I don't want to get my last final bfn before going into work. That is depressing

R/R/CS: a friend just texted me that they are having their second! I am super happy for them, but now I just feel impatient.. Lol. Granted, I have no idea how long it took her to get pregnant, we aren't that close.  Have some boat time on the schedule for today! Planning on getting my first tan of the year!

i am probably one of "those" people who would firm up immigration laws. Whoever is already here, ok we can deal with that differently, but no more of this I made it here, now let me stay. Maybe I am mean, but my mother is an immigrant and she did it the right way. *edited for spelling*

@Zoey1019 I'm so wishy washy on the immigration stuff.  My husband is an immigrant, but he did it the right way and got a green card because he's a doctor here.  However i do know some people that are PROBABLY here illegally and I would be so sad if they had to go back. But I get it, I totally do.

    CD/DPO: 26/12
    Testing plans: Another BFN today.
R/R/CS: I had a BFP dream last night so I woke up really excited. Took a test, stark white.
GTKY: I'm going to be really basic here and say extended maternity leave. 3 months is not near long enough to get to know your baby and heal from childbirth.

R/R/CS: im so proud of my ovaries this month! i actually ovulated on my own. Yay. This is what i'm debating on. We're already working with an RE and will be planning an IUI our next cycle. She told us to go ahead and try this month on our own since they adjusted my meds and I had an hsg which *may* slightly help if there was any mucous in my tubes. She wants me to start progesterone after the IUI, since my levels were always low past O. Should i ask for a progesterone draw at 7dpo or should i ride out this cycle au naturel?

    Congrats @MrsDramaK!!

    CD/DPO: 22/8 or 9?

    Timing: decent

Testing plans: probably again on Monday. ETA I couldn't help it and I tested this morning. I'm 99.9% sure it was a BFN but line eye accounts for the other .1%

R/R/CS: Last night I made cheeseburger quesadillas and said we'd eat the leftovers Sunday for lunch. DH ate them for breakfast this morning! What in the world man?!

    TW - loss mentioned
Also, we are visiting family today. My SIL is due May 30th, and before my mc, I was due May 29. I'm so excited for them because they tried for a long time and this is their first baby, but it's getting harder and harder to see them.

GTKY: Free doughnuts for everyone!! And also, like others have said, extended maternity leave. I am a SAHM but have watched too many friends go back to work so soon after their babies are born and I can't imagine how hard it would be.

    Testing plans: Probably tomorrow

R/R/CS: My temps are so much closer to my coverline than usual this month. I've attached it below, but I don't have VIP so I can't do an overlay with my averages. Usually I'm about 0.5 or more above coverline. Do you all think this is something to worry about or is it just a "cycles are weird" thing?

GTKY - If you became president tomorrow, what would be the first law you would put into effect? *Assume there is adequate funding, no significant negatives to the population, etc.

I like a lot of the answers given already. Maternity leave is definitely a good one and making college more affordable is good, too. I know some of the candidates have plans for loan forgiveness (after like 10 or 20 years), but I think something needs to be added to reward people who get their loans paid off. My husband and I are going to have all of ours (over 80k worth of loans and counting) paid off within a few years of us both being done with school, so we wouldn't even benefit from the loan forgiveness. Shouldn't we get some sort of reward for actually paying our money back?

Anyway, my law would be to eliminate the two-party system and the electoral college. Neither are necessary in the least.

Thanks. I knew there was more to it than "president says", but I figured people would get the idea without a 9th grade US government lesson...which I would probably not be good at teaching.  ;)

Sorry, I know it was lecture-y but it's a huge pet peeve of mine when people talk about the president creating or getting rid of laws.  They can't do that either.  They can remove previous presidents' executive orders though.  It especially bothers me when the people talking about these things are people running for office!

I don't know if I completely agree with this (president is head of state and thus our lead representative to the world, can order a nuclear attack, etc.), but I do think we should pay MORE attention than we currently do to who gets elected into Congress.

@atcwag That's weird your thermometer did that. Maybe give it a new battery if (I'm being optimistic and not saying "when") CD1 shows up?

@squish143 Sorry your DS is sick. I hope he feels better soon!

    @MrsDramaK Yay! Congratulations!!! :smiley:

@JediAlly85 Aren't temp dips the worst? They give us so much silly hope and crazies..

@hupp0013 Yes, for adoption too! I forgot about that.

@SandwichLover Seriously, student loan debt looks like it'll never go away. I mean, eventually it'll get paid off, but that seems like such a distant thing.

@Zoe1019 and @clover28 Sorry for the BFNs :(

    C) I would legalize marijuana and put a hefty luxury tax on it for all non-medically required uses. Have all the luxury tax income from marijuana go towards healthcare funding / social security / what have you. I personally never have and never will use it. But people are going to use it regardless of whether the government makes it legal or not. Why not utilize this resource to create a huge boost for the economy and help to shave down the massive quantities of debt accumulating?
Legalized marijuana seems to be going pretty well here in Oregon! I don't think any of it is going directly to all those wonderful things you mentioned, but they seem to have the system pretty well worked out.

  • @MrsDramaK congratulations!

    Month/cycle: 9/8

    CD/DPO: 29/10

    Timing: -3, -1, 0, +1

Testing: After AF is late at 17DPO if I get that far.

R/R/CS: Between DH, my BFF and myself, there have been 4 dreams this month that I'm pregnant. That's a sign, right? ;-)

GTKY: I'm gonna pass on this one...
  • Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD/DPO: 17/2

Timing: -5, -3, -1, +1 (or some variation of that)

Testing plans: Not sure yet... want to try to wait for AF but I'm sure that won't happen!

R/R/CS: DH and I started seeing a RE this cycle because my cycles were getting wonky (22 day cycles, etc). He stressed how temping is SO hard to achieve successfully and all the conditions need to be perfect for it to be accurate. I'm still looking for the climb, but I now know it just can't be trusted. I also had a sonogram THE DAY I OVULATED and the OPK came back "low" - so apparently those aren't accurate for me either. This month was a real lesson... relax!

Trying to just let it all go this month and wait and see and pray... Let's see if I can do it! Going for progesterone blood test monday to make sure I'm producing enough in the luteal phase. FX!!!

GTKY - Well I'm a teacher, do it would definitely have to have something to do with making education better in this country, because it's truly horrendous :(

@juliehollz13 good work ovaries! Looks like we're in the same boat this month. Considering IUI as well. FX for you :)

    @mrsdramak congrats! amazing :)

@virginiaham try not to read into temping results too much. Sending positive vibes your way :)

    Testing plans: beta March 23

R/R/CS: allergies - I wake up to temp and have a hard time falling back asleep because my nose is so stuffy

GTKY - If you became president tomorrow, what would be the first law you would put into effect? *Assume there is adequate funding, no significant negatives to the population, etc.  I can never be president since I'm not Ameican and don't live in a country that has presidents

    ETA - forgot a section

  • @MissAmeliaPond congratulations!!! Yay!!!
