My confession is....donuts.  I want all the donuts and I have wanted all the donuts for several weeks now.  However I have left all the donuts alone...until yesterday.  I ate a jelly donut.  It was the greatest thing in the entire world.  So much so that this morning I stopped and got another jelly donut.  And a boston cream donut.  I didn't want the jelly donut to be lonely.

I'm also pretty sure there are more donuts in my future...future meaning my lunch break in 10 minutes.

TB insists that I am spelling "donut" wrong.  How does one spell donut?
I now want all the donuts....

  • Just glad I got my donut fix already before reading this! All our good donut shops close at noon around here so I'd be out of luck.

And yes! No more work please!! This pregnancy has been really easy for me so I haven't gotten to use the 'I'm pregnant and sick' excuse to stay home. But I'm going to start taking advantage now and I'm not going back to work after the baby so I'm allowed!
  • I am so close to falling asleep at my desk today. I couldn't fall asleep last night and probably got one of the worst nights of sleep ever. I think I might go out to the car and sleep for 20 mins... and I really don't care if anyone says anything about it. Not like I'll function any better if I just push through the day...

As much as I really appreciate everyone bringing us food, flowers, and baskets of goodies while I was in the hospital, I think it's crazy that I am expected to write thank you notes for all of it. My MIL even bought us thank you notes. So what am I going to do? Grudgingly write those damn thank you notes.
Wait, what? I totally did not write thank you notes for stuff people brought to the hospital while I was on bed rest and even after my son was born. I thanked them in person or MH did so I figured we were set. I either made a huge faux pas and no one called me out on it or you are off the hook!

@yogahh It's very possible that some of us aren't. There are some real weirdos out there!
Usually fakers have tons of drama going on all the time to draw attention to themselves, and I think everyone here is relatively tame. But you never know

I think those random posters who post crazy, off the wall threads and then disappear.... those ones I wonder about. Hmmmm.

There's this guy at work I get SO annoyed by. Like every little thing he does I just find him super annoying and avoid him at all costs... for really no reason at all. He just irks me!
  • I was talking to a nanny at preschool today and she mentioned where the kids she watches live, but I couldn't picture the location so I quickly looked it up. Of course when I typed in the address the real estate listing from before they purchased came up. I couldn't help but look and now I feel kind of gross about it. But good lord, that was quite a purchase.

I used to think it was super rude to do that kind of thing, but my husband is a real estate appraiser, so anytime we go to anyone's house or hear about someone who just bought a house, the first thing he does when he goes home is look up how much they bought/sold for. At first I was appalled by this, but his whole job revolves around how much properties cost, so I get it... and now I do it too sometimes.

Your local property appraiser's website has tons of information.  It usually shows the purchase price, current tax rate, permits for additions, code violations notices/liens, sometimes a blueprint sketch, aerial photos, and/or a copy of the deed to know which spouse (if not both) purchased it, etc. - if you're feeling super-nosy.  The type of information available will depend on your jurisdiction.  Zillow also has information and photos from past listings, and and Google maps will show you the street view and an satellite photo.  It's all public information, so don't feel bad about searching it.

ETA:  I know all this because I practice real estate law, not because I'm some crazy stalker person!
  • I have another one. I think you all know how much I cant stand my assistant? I have been working with her on a new project, and I barely care if I give her enough direction to do it. I know that is horrible, but I guess I figure she is going to screw it up anyways, regardless on if I hold her hand on it or not.

  • I went and took a walk to try and wake up (bad idea... should have just had the nap) and while I thought I did amazing I still have over 2000 steps left for my goal for today. I'm really not even that disappointed that I probably won't hit that today...
  • YOU GUYS.  I did not get donuts on my lunch break.  I was proud.  But then I come back here and see alllll the donut posts complete with photos and you bet your @$$ I'm stopping on the way home.

PS @yogahh does anyone ever walk by your office and see you taking selfies with various delicious food products???

Yes! Streeteasy.com informed me about all sorts of things, like they have a wine cellar and a gym. And their apartment can fit about 4 of mine in theirs. I still feel gross about it but I'm also kind of obsessed with their apartment now.

@swflJD I know! The next thing I did was look up my address to see what info was available, I'm terrified. I'm about to Ron Swanson and go off the grid!
  • @yogahh I see your donut and I raise you a 'ring ding' from my favorite bakery.

This is why I didn't join the super early FB group ... we definitely had some catfish in my last BMB, including a Mod who collected money for a late loss mom (around 20 weeks?) and then didn't ever buy the gift, just pocketed that ish! Dirty!! So I'm down for a FB group (and joined one for my BMB around 7/8 months) but not in first tri when we hadn't weeded out some creepy lurkers first! Even then, we had one on our FB who made up all kinds of stories constantly. She was pregnant but that just made me feel really bad for her DD when she kept ending up in the hospital with batteries in her stomach or dozens of other fishy weird stories...

  • My FFFC today is that I just spend a half hour SOBBING because I got an email literally as we were pulling out of the driveway that the used car we were on our way to go look at JUST sold. I know there are other cars out there, I know its not the end of the world, but dammit I spent all week researching that car and making sure it was still there (today was the earliest we could go see it) and it was SUCH a great price and car shopping is hard!!!! I've been at it for weeks and this was the first one that seemed like a possibility, and I'm running out of damn time!

    And now I want donuts!

THIS! You pretty much summed up all my feelings today. Car shopping is THAT much more rough when pregnant and such a let down when you find the perfect one and BOOM it gets snagged. AND now i want a donut. I feel  you girl.

Just to back up to the donut thing...
When my mom was PG with me she worked part time at Dunkin. And ate a lot of donuts. They are now one of my favorite foods, and I really do think it is because she ate so many when pregnant with me.
Which means Harper is gonna love pizza and ice cream, right?
There might really be something to that! It may just be a coincidence, but when I was pregnant with DD I puked every. single. time. I ate tomatoes. Like I would swallow and 2 seconds later it was coming back up. Raw tomatoes, pizza, spaghetti sauce, anything! And now she has a pretty bad tomato sensitivity. We can't feed her anything with tomatoes at all or she breaks out in a nasty rash. So weird!
I had a half glass of red wine and spent the next hour or so puking it up this pg. So I'm hoping you and yogahh are right and she will never drink and be my good child hahaha.

We're expected to write thank you's for that stuff? Yikes...I'm hoping we don't get anything then!  It may make me sound lazy, but that's the last thing on my list!

UGH, I'm so sorry you are dealing with this too! My husband went back in the house after I saw the email and I just sat in the car and cried. After a few minutes he came back out and to see why I wasn't coming in, poor man had no idea what kind of emotional mess he was walking into! I was just like "Leave me alone, I don't even have the energy to cry AND get up out of this car right now..."

I just went back on autotrader to weed through the same cars I've looked at 100 times. I found one and was like "Oh, this looks promising!" NOPE. Its the original freaking car that I was supposed to look at and they haven't removed it yet. I almost cried again haha

Lol. This is exactly what I ate after I found out I passed my test. Definitely the best reward ever.
  • I just finished my first week of work online. (Thank you to whomever on here suggested flexjobs!) Next week is the second of two for my trial period and they love me so far. I haven't told them I'm pregnant and am not planning on it until I'm just about ready for labor. I also haven't told them that I moved to Germany yesterday because the CEO lives here and I'm afraid he would want to meet in person!

I guess my confession for the week is that I don't understand why anybody would pretend to be pregnant on the Internet.

Don't get me wrong, I totally believe it happens. People are weird as hell. I just can't wrap my head around what their mindset is.

If I wanted to gin up fake drama I'd go hang out on one of those boards for cheated-upon spouses and pretend to be a cheater. I bet you'd get allll kinds of attention then.
Because there are a lot of losers out there...

  • @yogahh My confession is a piggy back off yours: I have people in mind that I don't think are pg :)

It creeps me out that people would pretend to be pregnant and then even more they have the time to creep on pregnancy message boards as if they were pregnant. These thoughts never crossed my mind until now.

    - DH is a guidance counselor in an elementary school  (different district from the one I work in ).  Today was a teacher work day, so he had to be there, but he almost never has anything to do on those days and usually spends his time surfing the Internet.  As for unions, we live in WI so those don't exist for us public/government employees anymore.

    - I totally did something stupid today, in that I had an early meeting at my public library job but I was running late, so I decided to skip my depression medication and just run back home after the meeting and before my other job and take it.  That ended up not happening because I got into a long conversation with one of my coworkers and by the time I noticed what time it was, I wouldn't be able to make it home and back on time.  Then I did the nice but stupid thing of staying 45 minutes late to take care of some shelving, so I didn't end up taking my meds until 4:30.  Not so smart, and I have a feeling I'll be paying for it tomorrow.

I wouldn't have thought of this either but it's entirely possible. It's really creeping me out now!
