Re: WTF Wednesday

  • So I binged through 5 seasons of Downton Abby on Amazon Prime and I obviously became obsessed.  I get to the sixth and final season and it's not available!! Ugh I can't find it anywhere else for free and really can't justify spending 20 bucks on it .. Wtf

  • MIL is moving in to a fixer upper house. DH is pretty much handy with anything so MIL is discussing everything she wants done with DH and we went up to her house last night so he could put some sheet rock up. Actually seeing the house, it is terrible, a money pit, and a lot of work for DH.

MIL was going on and on about this and that and I spoke up and said hey you need to keep in mine he works full time and then works a day with my dad a week laying floors, and we also have another baby on the way. He can't be spending all his free time up here when we have things we need to do to our house before baby gets here plus we have DD.

Being the child that she is MIL walked out crying, I was not being mean or anything simply stating the obvious. So today she proceeded to text DH and ask if we fought last night and asked why I hate her so much. She then said that we shouldn't come back up there for a while and she will miss her grand baby but she wants to keep the peace. MIL lives with DHs grandma and is moving in right next door to her.

Sorry for the long post but I had to vent and I just can't deal with her today.

  • I have a friend who is a little further along than me, but is SUPER active on Facebook. Like posting every 45 min. She had decided to wait until last week to make her pregnancy announcement, which surprised me but I was like wow how cool that she for once is keeping something private. Well ever since she posted about her pregnancy, she has posted every 30 min it seems about being pregnant! Everything from asking people to bring her
food, to her past nausea. It's pretty much been constant updates from her
first trimester (which she is way out of). Yay her for being excited, but it's still annoying.

@Mrsrundell  is it on Hulu or netflix??  Not sure if it is or not, but you could always do a free week trial and binge watch it that way! :)

  • After three different training classes and a week of board and train, we finally have our canine good citizens testing this Saturday for my 11 month old Bernese Mountain Dog. He has been doing so well, until this week. And today he had a massive meltdown of epic proportions during our daily walk. Backing up, throwing himself on the ground, freaking out, tearing my hand up. Wtf Franklin, pull it together. Maybe this is more of a first world Wednesday post... Haha
  • I keep going back and forth between wanting to yell/cry when things like the laundry are not put away or just basic housekeeping isn't done when I get home. Usually I end up bitching/yelling and then breakdown in tears and I AM NOT A CRIER. This emotional roller coaster is rough.

It's 75 degrees out today so DH and I took our fur baby to the dog park. Mind you, I'm wearing a long maxi dress and a light cardigan. Perhaps this golden retriever thought I was a tree but he came by, sniffed my dress, then decided to PEE on me!! I backed away the moment I realized what he was about to do so thankfully he only got my toes but still. EW!!!!

This was my FFFC for this week but since you mentioned it ... I have a college sister who does the same thing and I just find it so annoying! Like, we get it... You're pregnant and happy. Congrats! Now, moving on to something else.  Meanwhile, I'm 16 weeks and I haven't posted anything about my pregnancy on Facebook and I'm not sure I will until maybe 20 weeks or so.
  • Wtf to my doctors office. Took the genetics test last week and they stated that the results would be back in 48 to 72 hours. Results are back but my doctor decided to take a CPR class today. So, I'll have to wait until tomorrow. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but I really want to know that all is well! & finding out the gender is a bonus.
  • @DressageDarling do u have a trainer that can run him thru a full  mock test in unfamiliar surrounding before saturday ??
One of my Ch.male bullmastiffs couldn't pass his cgc at 11 mos(and keep in mind he was a seasoned  show dog at this point)  ,just too immature.6 mos later passed  CGC with flying colors then proceeded to pass his tdi and delta therapy tests with flying colors. Edited because apparently i don't know how type or spell when annoyed....
  • PGAL Check in 3/7. That is all.

No seriously, I'm exhausted. Like can't focus want to lean my head down on the desk and ktfo.
  • Yesterday a coworker who tends to be a bit tactless came up to me and said, "Finally, you look pregnant! It's about time!"

I'm 19 weeks and I've been in maternity clothes for two months or so. And I've had a pretty defined bump (like, recognizable by complete strangers) for at least a month now.
  • @karaszoo1 We go to a group training class every Saturday where the test will be held. He can do all the requirements and has during training, he is just going through a stubborn, adolescent phase. Our trainer also went through all of it about a month ago with him while we were out of town. Thank you for the suggestion! He's my first pup (last two were adult rescues) and it definitely is a whole new learning experience.

It's not available yet because it just aired on PBS. On PBS.org, you'll be able to see some episodes, but I am not sure they have the whole season up.

  • WTF to my husband who has chosen this time to decide he wants to lose weight. I'm proud of him for wanting to get healthy but there's nothing fun about him announcing his weight loss while I gain every time I step on the scale! I know he's not doing it intentionally, but I think I'm just extra sensitive because I'm feeling pretty frumpy these past couple of weeks.

  • WTF: People showing up way too early for job interviews. Obviously, everyone knows it is very bad form to show up late for an interview. 5-10 minutes early is ideal. But lately I've been having candidates show up around 30 minutes early. One lady even came 45 minutes early! Then they sit awkwardly in our waiting area for all that time. On a professional level, I feel like this shows poor social skills, which can hurt their chances at getting the job. But my main gripe is that it's super awkward for me because if I was planning to leave to grab a coffee or even go to the restroom I have to go right past them, or explain to a stranger that I was going to pee, and that doesn't look very good. And maybe it's irritating me more now that I'm pregnant (like everything, LOL) because I have to pee constantly and they are creating an obstacle between me and the ladies' room. Or I feel obligated to rush through my other tasks because I know someone is waiting for me. Public service announcement: if you arrive to a job interview very early, good for you, you weren't late. Now go kill some time on your own. Go to Starbucks. Sit in your car and play candy crush. Wait in the lobby of the office building. Do not just park yourself outside the interviewer's office, you'll look like a weirdo!
  • People driving and texting not paying attention to the road that they almost get out the lane and hit me urk me why can't you wait smh like wtf
  • At work I am not allowed to lift a roasting pan with soup in it at work and move it six inches from the utility cart to the counter, but I am allowed to lift the frozen soup from a top-freezer and put it down in the bottom of the fridge. I will tell you now I am pretty sure the soup is heavier. Also: The coworkers are getting very protective over me -- I can't lift much, they are keeping an eye on what I am eating (like saying "no sushi" when my primary cleared it!), and... yeah... WTF, guys. I may be a first time mommy, but I have been around many pregnancies in my lifetime and have a nurse mother. I will be fine.

Aaaand I tend to just do my own thing anyway. Haha. But, seriously.
  • I'm a day late to the WTF Wednesday party but @Lynnlove28 I feel your pain - I got invisalign last week and have to brush my teeth like 5 times per day now, and I gag Every. Freaking. Time. I'm with you - this should've ended by now!!

  • @Bookhousegirl
    Yesssssssssss wtf husbands!?
Now u wanna lose weight um no I'd like u to eat with me then lose weight with me after I pop this kid out . ..try to diet while I wanna eat ,pfft.are u dumb !? And ps hubby eating an apple after u eat an ice cream cone does not cancel it out.....js....

  • @lmtrmama I have a friend due 11 days before me, and she is just like your friend! Every post includes something about being pregnant - even if its totally irrelevant!  :D

  • @Bookhousegirl that is my husband! I actually had a good pregnancy cry the other day to him about it fearing I was going to end up weighing more than him LOL
  • @karaszoo1 @Whitneymichellle12 yes! What happened to sympathy weight gain?!?!

  • I feel the opposite -- I was worried that my husband would do the sympathy weight thing because typically he doesn't give much thought to his diet/health/fitness, and that worries me. I am relieved that instead he's taking some much-needed steps to improve his health now that he's going to be a father. He's dropped a few pounds, and I didn't even have to get on his case about it. It does kind of suck to see myself balooning up in comparison, though.
  • More WTF update -- I am not allowed to lift these things unless it is a "you need to do this now" moment.  :/

Who is saying you can't lift these things?  Your doc or your work?
  • @Curls919 These silly restrictions are coming from supervisors and other peeps at work. It is frustrating, especially since I am fully capable of moving these things the short distances that I do. And considering the frozen soups are more heavy than the roasting pans with the warmed-up soup in them. I am also not allowed to lift a bread tray full of donuts and fluffy bread. :/  Doc has placed no restrictions on me at all. Just says "be careful" and "be mindful." She did suggest no high-impact, high-energy workouts, but that was the only "limit."

They don't want me to do anything to hurt baby, but they are incredibly over protective at this point. Unless they need me to do something right away, apparently.  They are very supportive of my pregnancy, and very kind when I am sick and tired, or confused and forgetful, and I appreciate it... but this overprotectiveness about lifting or moving things is frustrating. I am pregnant, not disabled.

    *sigh*

Where you see overprotective, I see afraid of getting sued. It sounds like they are terrified that something could happen while you're on the job and they'd be liable.
  • @Snaps816 - Perhaps. I hadn't thought of it that way. Interesting perspective.  I had one coworker say he didn't want anything to happen to "our baby" (as in my baby = building's baby, I think)... Idk. Feels like overprotective paranoia. I am hoping little spirit will stay the full term inside, and beyond outside, but I don't think moving a roasting pan is gonna cut that short, or harm the bebe. :/

Thank you for the new POV, though! I always appreciate new ways of looking at things. :)
  • @satto_takai I work with one female and the rest are males. The men won't even let me take my own garbage out to the dumpster. They say "we are having a baby". I know they mean well but like you, sometimes it drives me crazy lol.
