  • How many weeks are you? 31 tomorrow

Did you have any appointments/sonograms lately?  How did those go?  I had a sonogram and Dr's appt. yesterday.  The boys look great!  They are both around 4 lbs each.  Baby A is still head down and B is breech.  I still plan to try for a vaginal delivery.  Hopefully B will fall into place after A vacates or the Dr can somehow turn him (that sounds fun).

What's your story behind this pregnancy (years of trying, surprise...):  This 3rd pregnancy I had hoped for for a long time.  I was already fortunate to have a boy and a girl but never thought I was 'done' at two (I'm one of four and loved that).  It took me about 18 mo to convince DH to be open to the idea of a 3rd and then another 18 mo. to get pregnant.  I did get pregnant naturally, and a total fluke that it's twins, but I did do some general testing at a fertility clinic.  I just wanted some answers/incite so I could move on and stop worrying about whether or not another baby would ever happen.  The test that shows your remaining egg quantity was pretty bad (.07 - they want it to be a 1 or higher for women wanting to do IVF).  I was pretty bummed with that news, but hey, it only takes one egg (or maybe two in my case - lol).  I also did the HSG test where they inject dye in your overies (everything looked perfect but maybe it was the 'cleaning' I needed).  A month later I was pregnant!

What's on the ol' 'To-Do' list this week?  Our 'mini-split' HVAC unit arrived this week, so DH will work on getting that installed so these precious babes can have true heating and cooling!  ...more than just hanging some photos on the wall in this house!  lol.  Our nursery is a sunroom off of the dining room and is warm/cool enough when the French doors are left open but not good enough when the doors will be closed for sleeping newborns.  We will do a true home addition in a couple years.

I also need to order a breast pump through my insurance.  Not sure what to choose!

    29 weeks tomorrow

Did you have any appointments/sonograms lately?  How did those go?

Next Friday is the next one, last visit was GD test (I passed!)

What's your story behind this pregnancy (years of trying, surprise...):

It took us exactly a year to get pregnant with my son, we waited until about a month after he turned one to try again (I'm in my 30's so I didn't want to wait), thinking it would take at least a few months. Nope, 4 tries actually....sheesh. So I'll have 3 under 2yrs for a few months

What's on the ol' 'To-Do' list this week?

Finally got the paint for the twins room! Got our new vehicle last week (my PT Cruiser wouldn't fit 3 car seats) so the nursery painting is the last big thing

Did you have any appointments/sonograms lately?  How did those go?  Well I've been admitted to L&D with contractions. On magnesium to slow them but doctors still think we will meet our girls soon. Hoping to get in another steroid shot for them!

What's your story behind this pregnancy (years of trying, surprise...): surprise

What's on the ol' 'To-Do' list this week? Keep babies baking as long as possible!

Did you have any appointments/sonograms lately?  How did those go? Had a visit and sono with the perinatologist yesterday. Both baby girls are still head down (same as 3 weeks ago) and everything looks really good! One is in the 30th percentile and the other in the 60th, but they checked blood flow on the smaller baby and everything's fine, she's just a bit on the small side and her sister is a bit on the big side.

What's your story behind this pregnancy (years of trying, surprise...): Hoo-boy... We tried for about a year on our own with no luck, at which point my patience and list of variables in the grand experiment ran out. All my blood tests (and DH's sperm test) came back A-OK, so when the HSG confirmed that one of my tubes was closed it was almost a relief to know that there was a reason we weren't having success. When my RE went in to remove the damaged tube surgically, they found stage 4 endometriosis that was pretty much guaranteed to make it impossible for us to conceive naturally. We were devastated when we found out we'd have to do IVF, but soldiered through it, even when I got OHSS during my stimulation phase. I didn't want twins so we only did a single frozen embryo transfer, but the universe clearly had other ideas. I wanted a boy first, too. Go figure.

What's on the ol' 'To-Do' list this week? We're moving into our new house Saturday! So excited to be out of our apartment and into our first place we can say we own, but also more than ready to be done with packing... for the sake of my marriage. Got the nursery painted last week while I had help in town for my shower, though, and got lots and lots of adorable nursery gear. Can't wait to see how the little girls' robot nursery comes together. We would have bought a house last year if we hadn't had to spend much of our down payment on IVF :/

    How about a shower shot?

  • I also need to order a breast pump through my insurance.  Not sure what to choose!

I went through Byram and got the double Medela starter kit. It was maybe the easiest health-related transaction I have ever done. The least convenient part was calling my insurance and asking what was covered. From there, they gave me a website and I did everything on there. Didn't have to talk to a single person and it shipped to my place a couple weeks later. Covered at 100%

Did you have any appointments/sonograms lately?  How did those go? Had a growth scan at the beginning of last week where everyone looked good albeit small. Since one of them was on the cusp I got to go ahead and schedule weekly fetal dopplers and NSTs. Had our first doppler this week and everything was perfectly normal so that was a big relief.

What's your story behind this pregnancy (years of trying, surprise...): When you decide you're finally ready to try for one and surprise, there are two!

What's on the ol' 'To-Do' list this week?: Infant CPR class.

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers

Had my biweekly ultrasound this week. Babies are doing well which is great but I was a little disappointed that I didn't get a chance to see them :( usually the u/s tech will show me the screen after doing her measurements and give me a picture. This time nothing! I can understand the picture cuz apparently they're too big now but at least wish I could've seen them since my life revolves around these appointments.

What's your story behind this pregnancy (years of trying, surprise...): surprise!

What's on the ol' 'To-Do' list this week?:

Get through another week (my DS has march break so it'll be nice to have him home with me) then hopefully get to see my babies at my next scan the following week

  • I plan on using the robot dolls to practice the twin Moby wrap :p
