STMs+ what's on your registry/list?

Re: STMs+ what's on your registry/list?

  • Did anyone not use a highchair at all?  DD wasn't a fan of the highchair, pretty much from the beginning.  Someone had given us a Fisher Pricer booster-type seat that we attached to a chair, and she was good with that.  She's been in it since about 4-5 mos and she's 20 mos now and still in it.  We're debating selling our big fancy highchair that I think she sat in maybe 5 times and just getting another one of those - our table seats 10, so we have plenty of room to sacrifice a chair.  Thoughts?
I liked using the high chair because it was padded and reclined a bit so it was more comfortable for DS as an infant.  We started putting him in it with toys while we ate dinner around 5 months (he didn't start solids until 6 months) and he loved it.  The fisher price booster we have it just a hard plastic that has them sitting fully upright so I'd imagine it's not as comfortable for him.  Plus our high chair had shoulder straps and the booster just has the lap straps.  That being said, if it worked for your DD then you can get another.  But if you already have the high chair then I'd say use the high chair for the baby then move them to the booster when your DD outgrows it.

    Sit-n-Stand stroller (Joovy)
New video monitor (ours is terrible and our good quality sound-only one broke)
    New baby face cloths
Double breast pump (I have a single, but totally wish I'd bought a double one last time)
    New bottle nipples
Clothing (if baby is a boy)
Moby wrap or ring sling-type wrap (we have a Beco Gemini, but I want something for when baby is tiny)

This is what we did. We never had a high chair and started putting him in the Fisher Price booster around 6 months. He is almost 3 and still sits in it occasionally, though now he mostly insists on sitting "like a big boy" (on the regular dining rio chairs).

    Just keep swimming.
  • Thanks @tisunge602 @Curls919! She'll be 22 months when new baby is born so we can probably transfer her over to a booster when NB needs to use the high chair. She's used a booster before and been great... Just messy. She's pretty petite so the extra couple months of growing might help.

We have a small dining area, and I wasn't crazy about having a full-size high chair in view all the time.  So we use an Inglesina clip-on chair that has worked perfectly!  It doesn't take up much room at all, and DD has used it since 6 months (now almost 18 months).  We never had a need for a recline feature.  The cover easily comes off and can be machine-washed.  For her first birthday, we wanted to do the cake smash outside, so we bought a cheap Ikea high chair.  We use it for eating on the patio or if I want her to eat while I'm in the kitchen.  The legs pop off, and it can be stored in a closet.
