2. Next milestone? I have my first real midwife apt next week (same apt where my mmc was discovered last time)
3. Rants/Raves: I'm having a really hard day/week. We saw a great u/s last week, and I found the h/b easily on home Doppler a few days ago. Last night and today I can't find it and it's worrying me sick because this is what happened with our last loss. Just worried it will be deja vu. I know that's why they don't recommend home dopplers.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Midwife appointment a week from today. Then April 6 when we FINALLY get an untrasound.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Hanging in there. It still doesn't quite feel real and I don't think it will until we see a heartbeat, which is still almost a month away. I'm having some symptoms but still feel like I should be feeling more. I'm excited for my appointment next week, though. Hopefully the blood work and talking with the midwife will help me feel a little better.
4. GTKY: What's your favorite candy? Sugar. All the sugar (except I share the hatred of black licorice that a few others have brought up.) But right now haribo gummy cherries are sounding particularly good.
@peggyolsonFTW - 9 weeks!!! You're 75% out of the first trimester! FX that this week goes fast for you and you get to hear that beautiful heartbeat again soon.
@kmalls - Hooray for double digits and for feeling better!
@kmolleltz - FX that you get some more energy soon!
@supernerd42 - I feel so far behind too sometimes! I'm the oldest of my siblings so it feels weird watching everyone else hit their milestones first rather than the other way around. :-) No real MS for me for now -- just a fair amount of indigestion and some moments of queasiness that come and go. Hope you feel better soon!
@MRSCORKER - I get what you're feeling because my loss was very early too and we had red flags from the get go, but it's okay to be cautiously optimistic! It's natural to feel nervous but I think it's okay to "settle" a little too.
@ejmo68 - FX this week goes fast for you and the ultrasound goes well!
@allythekid - Waiting for that first appointment feels like it takes forever (at least for me at least.) FX you get in soon!
@jillianpardo - FX the appointment Wednesday goes well!
@2015dee - I'm so sorry you're feeling anxious. FX you can find some calm!
@mtgreen21 - I'm so sorry for your losses and hope this pregnancy works out better.
@Wishilivedinflorida - I'm getting thrown off by not having severe morning sickness too. I'm sure if it hits at some point I will be regretting that sentiment!
@joyful08 - HOORAY for no spotting and a beautiful heartbeat!
@lilyaster - I'm so sorry that you're having a rough day. I'd put the home doppler away for now if it's causing you unnecessary anxiety -- your ultrasound last week looked great and hopefully you can get some further reassurance at your next appointment.
DH and I: Early/mid 30s Married 7/15
TTC #1 as of 8/15
BFP 11/21/15 -- MC confirmed 12/1/15 BFP #2 2/18/16
1. How far along are you? 6 weeks, 2 days. It's not fun being the end of the month
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? My dr said I can schedule my ultrasound at 7 weeks. I'm trying to put it off until 8 since my last loss was 7 weeks 2 days. Let's see if I can hold myself to this
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm so exhausted all the time. I was a caffeine junkie prior to getting pregnant and now I feel like I'm a zombie. I cut completely only because I'm trying to be extra careful for my own piece of mind
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I have an appointment on Thursday (possibly an ultrasound!)
My loss was at 10 weeks so I will be nervous until then.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: This PGAL brain is kicking my butt! I am so anxious about possibly having another mc. My OB told me she felt like, because I had a successful pregnancy after my loss and because we have seen a strong heartbeat/yolk sack/placenta etc that the odds are really in my favor that everything will be fine. I don't know why I can't just listen and stop worrying.
4. GTKY: What's your favorite candy? Peanut Butter eggs are my weakness. I don't have any in the house yet. Lately I've been craving sour things though.
according to my LMP I should be 9 weeks +1, but I had my first ultrasound today which showed empty gestational sac and it measured me at only 6 weeks.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
hearing good news about my HCG levels and going back for another appt on the 24th.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Being told I had an empty sac left me feeling really downtrodden and stressed. Trying not to think too much on it, but the excitement of wanting to see a heartbeat had my hopes up. Hubby is being very supportive. I have a swirl of emotions currently: disappointment, anger, fear, anxiety, etc. definitely know my hypothyroidism and my irregular cycles have something to do with this...
4. GTKY: What's your favorite candy?
Sour skittles or sour patch kids/watermelon. Love love love sweet and sour stuff.
I am just hanging in till I can see the first scan. I might get in to see before 9 or 10 weeks in light of today's events...If I can hang on to a living embryo until 8 weeks, I think I'll be fine.
My rant is that I had pink/brown spotting today and went in for a checkup. They couldn't for sure hear a heartbeat, but think they picked up a couple of flutters. My progesterone levels look good. I am on bed rest for a couple of days.
My favorite candy is kit kat, snickers, or peanut M&M's.
Please keep me in mind and i will keep you all posted...
@housewifehobbyist I am so sorry. My heart goes out to you. I hope you get some answers. T&P.
@cmlawrence89 FX that you hear good news about your HCG levels.
@E=Mc3 TONS of positive vibes your way. I hope everything works out okay.
1. How far along are you? 6w2d
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? This Friday I have my second ultrasound. I'm really hoping to see and hear the heartbeat. The closer the appointment gets, the more nervous I get...
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I am exhausted and my boobs hurt. But other than that I don't have many symptoms. I had nausea yesterday and was excited, but then realized it was because I took my prenatal vitamin with no food. I'm really hoping that everything is progressing normally without a lot of symptoms. I don't really "feel pregnant" all the time, which scares me because I had the same feeling with my last loss. I'm thankful that I have another u/s this week to hopefully calm my nerves.
4. GTKY: What's your favorite candy? Mounds!! I love coconut and chocolate.
@E=mc3 Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that your little one keeps growing healthy and strong, and that you find peace and calm along the way! As my OB office says, the worst part of spotting is the anxiety it causes... thinking of you.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? our appointment this Friday at 9w1d! I had a blighted ovum last time so I never got to see a nugget.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm ill. I don't know whether my exhaustion and barfy feelings/lack of appetite are from the sickness or the pregnancy (or compounded by both). Morning sickness + drainage = double yuck. I have been worried that I'm frying my poor baby with my 99°F temperature, but the nurse says don't worry unless I hit 101° and Tylenol doesn't bring it down. She also told me that I could take guafenesin, dextromethorphan, and pseudoephedrine (she wasn't clear that I could take them all at once so I decided not to....)
I wish I didn't have to go to work (admittedly only two class periods with minimal teaching) and could just sleep all day.
4. GTKY: What's your favorite candy? Cadbury eggs!!!! I generally like chocolate things, however. Mounds? Yes! Butterfinger? You betcha! Was craving some Twix earlier in the pregnancy - got myself some then, and I have another bar my husband recently picked up for me just because. Trying to decide whether it would be delicious or barf-inducing at the moment.
So sorry, @housewifehobbyist I hope everything turns out for the best and if not, I hope you are able to get some answers. Sending creepy Internet hugs!
Also hugs for you, @E=mc3...hope everything goes well and you get in early!
1. How far along are you? 9 weeks, 3 days
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I have my final weekly ultrasound on Wednesday and then won't have another until my anatomy scan, I believe. While I like being able to make sure baby is doing ok still, the number of appointments has been taking its toll on me and my work schedule.
Also, I am super excited to start telling family this weekend. I think my mom took my last two losses harder than I did so I didn't want to tell her until the end of the first trimester this time. 10 weeks is probably close enough but I may still hold out until we get my Harmony test results back.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I am no longer on the "chances of not having a m/c" chart! I am super stoked and DH and I celebrated a little this weekend with a nice date night. Also, some of my symptoms have started to subside a bit, mainly the acne and horrendous heartburn, yay!
4. GTKY: What's your favorite candy? Ooohhh, anything sour and/or fruity. Warheads, Haribo gummies, Now n Laters, Laffy Taffy, Skittles, Starburst...
...and frozen Snickers. It's the only proper way to eat one!
@RainMira9e I'm sorry you're not feeling well, but I'm so glad you posted that about your fever! I've been feeling like shit since yesterday - headache, fatigue, backache, sore hips, no appetite, slight cough - and last night I was running a fever. It's still elevated today, but not what it was last night. I've been going back and forth on calling my doctor all day, but aside from the fever, I can't tell if my symptoms are pregnancy related, sickness related or gym soreness.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? First ultrasound and appointment tomorrow.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I really want to tell my sister I'm pregnant, but my husband doesn't want anyone to know until we pass the 12 week mark. We already agreed we'd wait until April, when both sets of parents will be in town for my son's birthday, to tell our families, but it's so hard to not be able to complain about all-day morning sickness to my sister.
4. GTKY: What's your favorite candy? Nothing lately (chocolate aversion in full force), but I'm usually a huge fan of the Theo salted almond milk chocolate bar. So good!
9wk 4 days, looking forward to getting my Doppler so I can keep checking in on baby, saw baby yesterday measuring ahead and looking adorable...can't wait to tell my son but waiting to 12 weeks and Easter I think. Candy would be chocolate but usually snickers or take 5
1 chemical and 1 loss at 9 weeks prior to DS IVF #1 1/10-transfered 2 blasts- DS born 10/2010
Trying for # 2 since 2012. 2 failed FETS 1 failed IUI.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? My first U/S the day after tomorrow. I've officially made it past my last pregancy which was 7+4 when I started spotting.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: SO anxious for my first u/s. My heart tells me things are coming along fine.
4. GTKY: What's your favorite candy? I love Twizzlers, Buncha Crunch and those Butterfinger cups.
Mommy to Gabriel (12) and Isaiah (10) and Step-Mommy to Danely (17), Diego (9) and Leo (4). Trained doula going for certification!
Thank you all for the kind words...I am still at home today just keeping my feet up and trying to think positive. I have stopped spotting at this point. The discharge turned brown and stayed that way after the one time of being pink yesterday. I have not heard anything about an appointment at this point. It is driving me crazy to not know for sure what's going on in there. Additionally, my DH is starting to say things that indicate he thinks if things go badly, I will be partly to blame for worrying. He also told me I should tell my other two children what's going on so they will not worry so much. I plan to tell them this afternoon. I feel so scared, sad, and alone right now. I want to cry, but then I'm afraid that will hurt the baby. I just really want this baby so much! I've been waiting for and trying to get pregnant with this baby for 4 years! I don't understand why something that is supposed to be so easy is so hard for me.
I also remembered something I was told the last time I had a pelvic exam/ultrasound. The Dr. found quite a few small fibroids. He said they should not bother me trying to get pregnant. He didn't think they were a big deal. But I've been thinking maybe they might explain the spotting. Maybe that's all this is, and I'm ok.
@e=mc3 I'm so sorry you're feeling this way, and also that your DH isn't sounding so supportive at the moment. I definitely run anxious and after our loss when I was worried about what a stressball I'd be when I got pregnant again (yep, the worry about worry cycle), my OB reassured me that stress on its own DOES NO HARM to the baby. Stress to the point when you can't eat, can't sleep, or are otherwise not caring for yourself--that's what can cause damage. But your emotional state will not hurt this baby, and I truly believe your stress is one way of your heart expressing just how deeply loved this baby is. I hope your symptoms continue to fade and that you get peace of mind confirmation ASAP, but in the meantime, I also hope you can be gentle with yourself. Feel free to PM me if you ever need to talk!! xoxo
I got a little break from MS today so I just wanted to say I'm thinking of all you ladies who are having bad news and scares lately, and those that feel awful from being sick. I hope everyone gets any and all of the comfort you need and want asap!
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? 12 week U/S on 4/7, which seems like forever away. Last time around I had no symptoms of loss so I just can't wait to see that everything is good this time
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm a nervous wreck, and it seems like everyone around me is pregnant. I want to be in the clear! Also, my symptoms are minimal, which would be a blessing, but I'd almost rather be queasy and know everything is all good lol!
4. GTKY: What's your favorite candy? Dark chocolate and peanut butter m&ms
So, last night I noticed the beige/tan CM is back. It happened at 4+5, 5/5+1, and now at 7+3. I hate it so much. Just when I was starting to calm down after the pink I had after sex on Saturday. I just wish I could relax and have a break from the anxiety for 5 freakin minutes. It's gotten to the point where I feel anxious everytime I have to pee. Hey uterus...

@MRSCORKER I'm so sorry your CM is making you anxious! If it makes you feel any better I don't think it's anything to worry about and creamy CM of various colors is totally normal early in pregnancy. I've had it too and I think many others have as well -- I don't think it means anything. I think it was maybe @PeggyOlsonFTW who said she just assumed it was her mucus plug forming?
My freakout of the day is that my fireboobs, which have been my one consistent symptom (other than shitty sinuses, which were pretty bad even before I got pregnant so I don't think that counts), were substantially less firery than usual this morning. Just a bit tender to the touch. They're a bit more sore right now and they're usually least sore right when I wake up, so I am trying not to have a TOTAL meltdown, but I am very, very glad that I have an appointment coming up on Monday and am hoping that the midwife will offer some reassurance, even if we don't get an ultrasound.

Yeah, I'm trying not to worry about it. I've had all kinds of CM the past 7 weeks. Everything from watery, to creamy, yellow, clear, and tan/beige/light brown. I hate the light brown because my PGAL immediately thinks it's the beginning of the end. It's come and gone twice now so I'm not as on edge as I was the first two times but I'm basically stalking my vag hoping it goes away.
I love the term fireboobs, btw. Sorry they're less firey right now. It's most likely nothing and you'll be back to full blown fireboobs soon

This is happening to me a lot and every time I think it's the spotting returning. I know how you feel I get so upset every time. I feel like I'll be walking on eggshells for the next 31 weeks!

Thanks! I enjoy it and feel like it's pretty accurate. My other favorite is when I describe them in text messages to DH I use the confetti emoji. In case you all were wondering (since I know everyone's been on pins and needles dying for an update), the fireboobs are back and they're back big (pun intended). Apparently they just took a little while to wake up this morning. Of course, that could just be because I've been feeling myself up in my office all morning, but that and a decent dose of heartburn has me ever so slightly less panicky for now at least.

@simcal18 My boss def just caught me feeling my boobs. She knows I'm KTFU though so she just laughed. Good times.
Hahah, too funny. I try not to grope myself too much at the office so people don't start guessing. The go-live timing of one of my projects is going to fall right when baby is due and until I have a chance to tell/discuss with my manager, I don't want rumors flying!
Just had my second HCG blood test. Awaiting results to see if they doubled. My result from my first test kinda surprised me, it was such a big number (which I have never seen, but I guess I'll have to get used to seeing big numbers now!) even my husband was surprised.
EDIT: just got the results back. My levels dropped from 42168 to 36059 over the course of 48 hours. I'm freaking out. Is this normal? I'm sitting in my college class stressing out, unable to pay attention.
@cmlawrence89 did they say anything else when they called? when I had dropping numbers it wasn't good, but mine weren't nearly as high as yours. are you doing another beta?
@mrszoess I'm waiting to hear from my doctor. The results came directly from the lab and were posted to my medical file. No notes were given for them. All of the searching I've done for falling HCG levels don't have anything with similar levels to mine. I'm hoping the doctor calls me soon. My next u/s isn't scheduled until 3/24, which should be my 8 week mark according to the previous u/s. It's been a crazy few days.
@Pupatella thank you for your kind thoughts. Hoping my doctor gets back to me! I hate waiting around. My anxiety is starting to kick in.
Was able to call my doctor. The lab results were not good news at all. Basically was told that my pregnancy has ended. I'm so heartbroken. Been crying for 2 hours.
Thank you you everyone for your kind words and well wishes.

3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I am no longer on the "chances of not having a m/c" chart!

So good!

1. How far along are you? 7+6
Thank you all for the kind words...I am still at home today just keeping my feet up and trying to think positive. I have stopped spotting at this point.

I love the term fireboobs, btw. Sorry they're less firey right now. It's most likely nothing and you'll be back to full blown fireboobs soon

EDIT: just got the results back. My levels dropped from 42168 to 36059 over the course of 48 hours. I'm freaking out. Is this normal? I'm sitting in my college class stressing out, unable to pay attention.
